"I'm not giving up," he said quietly. "I just don't want you to get hurt again." He turns his face into her hand, again seeking the comfort of her touch.

"Steve," he says quietly but firmly, "you need to go shower."

Steve sighs but gets up and leaves, pulling the door shut behind him.

"Sharon, get up here." He really wants to feel Sharon curled up against him.
