{she turns her head to listen, cheek resting against the pillow as she watches him. Every now and then she experiences the uncomfortable startle of realizing that she doesn't know him the way she thinks she does. It's made her start making it a point to carefully listen whenever he talks, no matter how strange what he's saying may seem. He doesn't sound strange this time though and her smile is quiet, eyes softening.}

That's not stupid at all, Cloud. {her voice matches the smile, soft and quiet in the dark and almost she wants to reach out and stroke his hair, offering her own understanding. Things are scary. No matter how much they try to pretend they're not. She's scared sometimes too and when she looks at it that way, she can understand finding Barret's snoring comforting. Grounding. Instead of that though, she nudges him a little, offering the other pillow to prop behind him for comfort. He takes care of them, but who takes care of him?}

It's important to remember that things aren't as bad as they seem sometimes, isn't it? From now on, when I hear Barret snoring I'll remember that too.
