Well that was a curious question. He sat there listening to her, watching her fidgeting, how she was nervous, how he must've made her nervous. "You haven't ran away." It was a statement rather than a question, "Why? Why do you trust me and have this faith upon me, even after everything you've seen me do and -- well -- destroy for a lack of better terms."
He was no hero. A doctor's oath is to do no harm. His own personal oath was to never be cruel or cowardly. He had let himself down to that oath more than he was willing to admit to, and just when he reached the point of where he was confident he couldn't redeem himself, she stayed by his side.
That meant something to him, though he couldn't think of how to put that in words.
