The Highly Inappropriate Sexual Tension Meme

The Highly Inappropriate Sexual Tension Meme

Touches. Glances. Sides brushing, so close to each other. The moment is, most likely, quite, subdued, and calm. Or it could be loud and full of life, right in the middle of a vivacious party. Yet, no matter the case, your blood is pumping - no, nearly boiling with the passion bubbling between you and your companion.

Unfortunately, this sexual tension is completely and absolutely out of line. Whether it be the place, the time, your relationship with the person (be that literal relation or power difference, age difference, experience difference, and so on), your own lack of knowledge, or personal convictions, you should not act on any building desires.

But here's the thing about tension: it builds. It builds, and it builds, until...

Well, even subtlety can come to an inappropriate head.

HOW TO PLAY
  • This meme isn't for smut, though smut is allowed. What it is for is the delicious, anticipatory build up and the dances people can do to deny attraction. Foreplay, especially creative foreplay, is encouraged.
  • Comment with your character, canon, and preferences in the subject. In the comment body, be sure to mention if there are any squicks you have, scenarios you don't/do want to play out, and if you're okay with AUs or handwaved CR.
  • Reply to others.

"I'm looking forward to it," he replies with the slightest eyebrow wiggle, in that way Jack has of making half the things he says into some of vague innuendo even as the words are completely straightforward. He knows perfectly well she's good at what she does. He tracked her down for a reason, and the world is a lot more interesting with her playing with alien technology than it would be with her locked in a cell somewhere.

They get to the place he had in mind, and he gestures her through the door before following. It seems particularly quiet tonight. There are other people around, but not many. They grab a couple seats at the bar, and he waves over the bartender and orders a vodka martini for himself. They pale a bit in comparison to their future cousin, but no one on 21st century Earth knows how to make a hypervodka, and they'd generally be missing an ingredient, even if they did.

That eyebrow wiggle would look absurd on anyone else, but Jack somehow manages to pull it off in a way that has her blushing slightly. "You ought to see me handle a set of tools," she tries clumsily, but feels foolish as soon as she's said it. Best to leave the innuendo to Jack, she decides, who can pull it off as easily as breathing. "I- never mind. Pretend I didn't say that."

She falls into an embarrassed silence till they sit down, and Tosh orders a martini for herself as well - stronger than the glass of wine she'd intended to order, but she could use it right now. She'll just nurse it slowly, she decides. "Do you come here often?" she asks Jack, though she's aware that it sounds entirely too trite.

It wouldn't have been a bad reply if she'd just been a little more confident in it--and he's about to shoot something back at it when she tells him to ignore it. He shuts his mouth and just chuckles instead.

Trite, maybe. It's an overused starting line, but he'd admit to having fallen back on it himself when there wasn't anything else to say. "Sometimes." He shrugs. "There's a few good places around here. Most of them know me." He takes a sip of his drink, then gives her a curious look. "What do you do to relax?"

Tosh blushes a little at the question, knowing that her answer must be terribly dull, especially to someone like Jack. "I read, mostly. Sometimes I, er, play video games online." Basically, she keeps to herself, without much in the way of social interaction. She hasn't got any friends in Cardiff, and she's not sure she wants friends. If she keeps anyone from getting close again, she reckons, then they can't be used against her. UNIT taught her that much. "Sometimes I tinker with things, keep my hands busy. The way other people might knit or draw, I suppose." She has a fair hand when it comes to art, but she likes maths and machinery better; the cool logic reassures her.
