Though the threat appeared to be over, it still seemed very hard to convince his brain of that fact. Nervous energy still coursed through him. His movements were just a bit too quick, his eyes too bright and alert, as he picked his way down the stairs, close on Rogers' heels. He made a conscious effort to calm himself down. Now was the time for damage control: time to retrieve his phone from whichever one of those thugs had ended up with it; time to return any panicked calls he might have received if his name ended up on any of the news reports. He could think of a few people who might be beside themselves by now.
He shot a curious look at Rogers' back. "Did you happen to speak to a Detective Gumshoe before you entered the building? He would have been a large fellow in a rather pathetic excuse for a trenchcoat."
