Hill didn't respond right away. Her eyes, like everyone else's were glued to the live feed chopper footage. The portal somehow blinked out of existence right about a half-second after Stark's reentry. One down, one to go. With the portal out of commission, communications were coming back online.
"...He's not slowing down..." Thor's voice echoed over an open channel. A few seconds later, Hulk roared loud enough that Hill almost had to yank her earpiece away from her head.
"... What the hell?" She breathed another sigh of relief. Though, she'd never in a million years tell Stark that. "What just happened...?"
"We won..." This time it was Rogers who answered. Another cheer went up from the bridge crew.
"We're clear," Hill said to no one in particular. They were still a man down, but the invasion force had been stopped. Now, they just had to clean up Loki and the disaster he'd made of Midtown.
