Her manager makes unhappy noises about Dejah leaving so early, but she doesn't sound surprised. And she completely misses just who is standing beside her. "There are celebrities here tonight, haven't you heard?"
"Yes, well," Dejah responds, deeply amused, "hopefully they're here for the art. I'll see you tomorrow evening."
They make one last swing around the gallery, which is getting rather full by now, and Dejah urges them to the exit and into the waiting cab. "I know it sounds strange for someone living in New York, but I really don't enjoy crowds. And if I haven't said it already, I'm really glad you came this evening. I haven't had this much fun at one of these things in ages."
