I want to find threading partners based on criteria like this:
- what storylines we like to play out
- what time zone we're in/what times we're around
- how quickly we tag
- how long our tags are
- etc, etc

I don't really care what characters they play. Is there a place for this?

but i'd like it if there were something like that. i like my crosscanon pairs and going on preferences and availability would make things much easier.

The trouble is their ideas are all shit. Getting stoned? Job interviews? Those ideas are garbage, sorry to say, and that's why nobody does them.

There aren't only new memes being spammed, either. The bonobos, massage, stupid first crush, anime romantic tropes, and the sudden realization of romantic feelings memes again? They never get many comments these days.

The image loaded slowly, a line if pixels at a time like this was dial up. I whispered 'don't you dare' when the sight my nightmares wouldn't let me forget began to form and I rushed to say it,

'That fucking hamster', I thought. That's what I'll say. Maybe I'll bold it or italicise some parts. That'll show 'em.

Without the rest of the page, the loading speed went through the roof. Within seconds it was done but it escaped my notice as I was already on the comment screen, below seeing it. But a hint of motion from behind the semi-transparent address bar alerted me. With a sinking sense of horror, I scrolled up and there it was. In motion and more hideous that ever, taunting me daring me, mocking me, filling me with such bile I said it aloud.

'That fucking hamster.'

I agree and it's not even necessarily that the ideas are shit (they are) but I've noticed that the rate at which memes are getting posted means they get pushed off my reading page in under 24 hours or even 12 hours. That leaves virtually no time to play or find people you want to tag.

If this were a game I'd trust people to scroll back, but it's not.

Just fucking show restraint, use your heads, don't post basically the same shit with slightly different images, and try and consolidate things that make sense together. It's not hard and we'd see a better playing experience because of it.

Not saying that similar memes shouldn't be combined, but a meme is not untouchable once it gets off the first page.

You're missing the main point of my original comment though. I'm very active in memes and scroll back and backtag too, but like it or not when a lot of memes get posted and push things down and push things down it does do something to both the amount of activity on each meme and the lower number of responses per meme post compared to six months ago and definitely compared to a year ago.

I don't get why meme makers can't just say something like, "Leave your comment blank or write up a starter scenario. Your choice!" and be done with it. Maybe a mention of writing a starter might encourage some people to do so. I just find the Reverse Picture Prompt variations needlessly redundant and think it'd be more efficient to combine these with their original incarnations. (Of course, you could further argue to combine the gen/shipping/smut versions into one master Picture Prompt Meme, but that's not my point.)
