It had been a long day, a long week actually. But it was the weekend now so it was time for Trowa and Quatre to finally have some time alone. And the thing they had been looking forward to: watching a movie together. It was something nice to do. They got to sit together for a while and there was (usually) nothing that interrupted them.
Trowa knelt by their collection of movies, going through them as Quatre finished getting a few things. Unable to decide on what they should watch, Trowa glanced over his shoulder towards where Quatre was.
"Any preference on movie?"

It was Quatre's favorite time of the week. Just the chance to have Trowa all to himself, though he tried hard not to show just how he felt. He didn't want to take the chance it would back-fire on him in a bad way and he'd lose the other man forever. Even just friends had to be enough.
The weekly movie showing gave him an excuse to sit close to the taller man. He was setting up their snacks and pouring tea and coffee, depending on who's it was. He blinked up at Trowa, trying not to stare at the nice view (though any view was nice when it came to Trowa).
"I haven't seen Harry Met Sally lately."

That was part of the reason Trowa liked this time of the week too. Quatre was the only person around and they'd sit close to each other and enough a beverage and some snacks while watching a movie. It was a feeling he couldn't quite put in to words so he usually didn't bring it up.
At the suggestion of the movie, Trowa couldn't help but stare at Quatre for a moment... a very long moment. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting to hear, but that certainly wasn't it. And of course Trowa having a terrible sense of humor, he couldn't help cracking a slight grin at that.
"Really? That movie?"

After Rowan had become Queen of Hearts, Jordan Novak settled in to bide his time. It wasn't pleasant, but for all that he had...betrayed his mother, her lessons were forever ingrained. Jordan was happiest when he was concocting a grand, perfect plot.
He was twenty-seven when he challenged Theo and won, and he merely gave the current Queen a beatific smile as he took his rank. King of Hearts. Rowan wouldn't last long when they stood as equals, and when she resigned...well, he had a plan for that, too.
That was when the plan went a bit awry, though. Rowan did resign. Jordan did name Blythe Merrick his queen, and Hadyn his Ace. But Blythe wasn't as easy to influence as he'd supposed she would be. There was steel in her spine, which was a good quality in a Queen, but a pain in the ass when you were determined to rule the Suit as Jordan was.
"I don't see why you think strengthening the guards is such a terrible idea," he says, leaning back in his chair. "Weren't you Miss Armory and Weapons a couple of years ago, darling?"

"Was," she repeats, giving him a crooked smile. A lot has changed in the past couple years - but when doesn't a lot change in a short time period here? She and Monty had broken up a while ago - it was amicable, and they were still friends, but the relationship had run it's course. And now that she was Queen, really, she had more important things to focus on than a relationship.
Although this relationship - the one between the Queen and the King - needed some working on. It was undefinable at best - but that was to be expected with Jordan Novak, of all people. She never knew exactly where she stood to him, or what exactly she thought of him. It was odd - and she needed it to become not-odd soon. "And really, checking on the status of our hardly-used armory is a little different from blatant militarization, Jordan. Our Suit's strength isn't questioned as much as it was in the past. I don't see why a push is needed anymore."

"I'm not worried about how we appear to the other Suits." Even the Spades, where all of his family was. Vivienne Bernard was certainly pleased that her grandsons were a King and an Ace - even if she thought that they were King and Ace of the wrong Suit. "That's not the reason why, Blythe. You know what the last few years have been like."

"I do know. And I still don't think that over-militarization should be our answer to the situation." She gets up from her chair, leaning a hip against her desk as she flips through the proposed plan. "We are prepared to deal with any immediate threat as we stand now."
After a moment, she offers, "we can implement a gradual training regime for our current guards. But we will not be increasing the number of guards, nor bulking up our weaponry or anything like that."

Jordan's lips thinned. Maybe he should have chosen one of the Tens, he thinks, not for the first time. But no, at the time he'd been sure that Blythe would...he wasn't sure what he thought. Certainly he'd never been under the impression that he could charm circles around her, not when she'd spent a few years following the lead of the other Hearts.
Even after they made up, in a manner of speaking.

[Ymir's irritation flies over her head by the sheer force of her contentment. It's not often they get to leave on personal errands due to their various commitments and busy schedules. When they do, it's always in a group of three or more. The fact that she's been asked personally still fills her with elation.]
Why? What's the worse that could come out of it? He's always been gentlemanly towards me. He helped me carry my boxes earlier this morning even when he really didn't have to.
