There was something about the way that Tim jerked his head to look around that Kon didn't like at all and it wasn't until he noticed something out of the corner of his eye that he realized why. He shot off as soon as he saw the gun, but something was telling him that he was going to be too late. That feeling only egged him on faster. He couldn't be too late. Absolutely could not.
But he was already hearing the gun shot before the warning shout managed to get past his lips and he'd already chosen his destination: the man who was shooting. He cursed the split-second decision that had caused him to choose the attempt to stop the bullet before it had started than to protect Tim and possibly let the shooter try again.
