Clint knew he should probably humour Edith more, maybe spend more time with her considering her position in HR, but she was so grating. He was glad for Chris’s shy persona so he could dodge her advances easily, and he was even more glad in this moment for Natasha’s help. She could have thrown him under the bus, could have left him to deal with this on his own, but when she practically threw John at Edith he was entirely grateful. Amused as well, but mostly grateful.
