Kneeling. She wouldn't be the one kneeling. That was one thing she'd make sure of. But for now, that kneeling concerned her. She sighed, crouching down to lift her chin, watching her intensely with her piercing gaze.
"Come back up here, soldier. Stay level with me...or I'll stay down here with you."
In fact, she really needed to just stay down there, so she adjusted, sitting on her knees before resting their foreheads together.
"There isn't anyone else that haunts my dreams, and that haunt is one I don't want to change. If this really is real...if none of this is a dream, then I'm glad that I woke up to you there and no one else."
It was selfish. She knew that. She should have wished for Vanille. She should have, but she knew she was safe. She was still in crystal, right? She hoped so at least, and if she wasn't, she would find her again, but for now, she wanted to be selfish for once. She spent too long making sure everyone else is happy. She wanted a piece of it for her own.
And then she felt guilty. She shouldn't want any of it. She had to make sure everyone else was ok first. It was her obligation. Her priority. Her duty. She grew up a guardian, she would die a guardian. A protector. All of these thoughts caused her eyes to glaze as she sat back on her knees more, her head lowering some.
