((and I am going to bed like right after I post this, but I couldn't just let it sit all night.))
Nagisa, if pressed, would not call his approach to getting what he wants pestering, especially when he's so sure that the other person would enjoy it just as much as he would. If they would just think a little more reasonably, they'd agree right away and he wouldn't have to be so persistent.
That's okay, though. He's used to people not paying attention to what's important. And really, who could be surprised that Rin-chan sort of forgot that there was anyone in Iwatobi other than Haru-chan? Nagisa doesn't mind having had to remind him. Repeatedly.
(And it's not like having to fight for Rin-chan's attention is new or anything.)
And they did have fun, just like Nagisa had known they would, though it was a little different than he'd expected. They're both older, of course, they've both changed, but it wasn't just that. It's the first time Nagisa has ever felt on equal footing with Rin-chan. He had the same experience with Mako-chan and Haru-chan at the beginning of the school year, putting the team together with them instead of having to beg to join them, but with Rin-chan, it's . . . different.
He really, really likes it.
"I'm glad you decided to come out tonight," he says, as brightly energetic as if he hasn't just spent the evening buzzing around like a hummingbird. "I told you it would be fun."
pfft you have nothing to be sorry for
