beyourarmy: (I'm not that easy)

It didn't matter what words dropped from his cold tone, Setsuna faced Lucifer now. His face, his dark hair and those icy gray eyes, the one thing that made him so different from Kira in appearance. Even if Setsuna wanted to hang on to the reminder the others still existed in the world, somewhere beyond his reach here, Lucifer was right.

His existence in this moment was narrowed down to just them. That would almost be intimate and romantic, except it narrowed in out of pain. When anything hurt, rather physically or emotionally, his entire world centered in on this one space. No, maybe Lucifer was partially right. As long as he looked like Kira, then no, it came down to Lucifer, Setsuna and Kira. Setsuna grabbed onto that, the softness of Lucifer's fingers disturbing his hair making it even harder to forget Kira.

He used to ruffle it, touch, pat his head. There had been so much tactile comfort and affection between them, Kira gave Setsuna a longing for it. There was no way Setsuna could avoid the pleading that likely swelled up in his eyes. 'Please, mess it up like you used to, laugh and tell me I'm being an idiot,' he managed to bite his tongue on those words.

"There's no failure, not yet," was what Setsuna insisted out loud, refusing to back down on that.
