derpmcnerd: (small smile)

Filly has a lot of opinions regarding marriage (because let's face it, she has lots of opinions about everything even if she tends to keep them to herself), and how it's an institution that she doesn't really believe in as it currently functions.

In this exact moment, however, none of these opinions really matter to Filly. Chuck isn't exactly in a position where giving him a political lecture would be in any way helpful, and getting engaged just seems like such a lovely, ordinary thing to do. Something people with peaceful lives not overshadowed by the bloody end of the world do. Something normal.

She smiles back at him, tears stinging her eyes because only now when he is with her again can she admit to herself that she hadn't thought he would ever wake up.

"I'm about to put on a shitload of weight, and you think this is a good time to ask me to put on a fancy dress?"

Since the drip might be working after all, Filly isn't entirely sure that Chuck is actually going to remember this proposal next time he's awake, but she's going to give him an answer anyway, because she wants to.

She lets Max down and gets to her feet so that she can lean over Chuck's bed and give him a careful kiss on the lips.

"Sure. Let's get married."
