it started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. time to find cover. nothing much to do but to wait it out.

scenarios listed below for those who want 'em.

i. WHERE;
001 PLAYGROUND - well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of.
004 THE BEACH - not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm.
005 WILD CARD - anyway you want it.

ii. HOW;
001 TREE - not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - most conventional... kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - not permanent, but it'll have to do. good luck.
004 BAG - well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - you know what. you're a rebel. you don't need cover. screw convention.
006 WILD CARD - that's the way you need it.

iii. WHY;
001 REJECTED - welp. rejection sucks. and no one will see you crying in the rain.
002 WAITING - for the bus? for someone else? for some revelation? what are you waiting for.
003 MELANCHOLY - sometimes the best place to feel a bit down is out in the rain.
004 HAPPINESS - is everything going your way? are you singing a refrain while walking down the lane? just singin. singin' in the rain.
005 ANGER - WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. SCREW YOU TOO RAIN.
006 WILD CARD - anyway you want it.

They got wet while you were walking me here. You wouldn't want to catch cold...

[His lack of a reaction to her mother's picture was noted and filed away. Jade hadn't given her his last name, and she'd never seen the man before. It was possible she had the wrong person, and she wouldn't want to harm someone innocent. And even if he was the Necromancer, she wasn't sure yet she'd try to do anything to him. Many had tried, and they'd all failed.

Once his shoes were off she set them to the side and placed a pair of slippers in front of him, moving off to the kitchen to put on some tea. As long as he was willing to stick around, she had awhile yet to decide what to do or not do.]

[Sonic put a hand on his hip, leaning a bit of his weight on his left leg.]

[ Shadow turns to Sonic fully and begins walking towards him, fists balled. ]

Don't misunderstand me. You breaking the limit fascinates me and by all means, you should continue. [ He stops right in front of the blue hedgehog, his nose inches away from Sonic's. ] But carelessness? You shouldn't have any of that if you want to break limits. Unless you're eager to find out what's on the other side, too.

[The construction was going swimmingly, almost literal at this point, but despite the rain, the town was carrying on quite well.

Without a word, a Colonel joined her under the gazebo, folding his umbrella and sitting next to her after placing it down. He looked ahead for a moment before he turned to her with a smile and looked a bit surprised.]

Why, Anise. How strange to see you here so suddenly. How are you?

[The young woman turned to look at him, raising a brow before a smile appeared on her lips.]

I'm surprised I didn't accidentally scare you half to death~♪ I'm doing well, how about yourself, Colonel?

idk either but I'll go along with it!

Hmm... [Asbel fingers his chin in thought. Maybe someone there would know what's going on? It's worth a shot.]

Well, yeah. That's not a problem is it? [He isn't sure why it would be, but when he looks back up, he happens to notices that his companion is acting a little strangely.] Don't worry. It's not like I expect you to bow to me or anything.

[And there's a commiserating sigh.] And pretty much. But it doesn't just wait, you know? Usually there's twice as much of it by the time you get back from a trip.

[She was almost surprised he wasn't acting like a brat much like how Natalia and Luke did when they first came along. Something she seemed oddly grateful for at the moment.]

Ugh, don't remind me. I'm sure I'll have piles and a few reports to write out as well.

[Not something she was looking forward to in the least. During their small conversation the rain at least lightened up a little. Meaning it's a perfect time to change the subject to something that may be more pleasing.]

So what's it like in Lhant?

It just seems like formalities get in the way of people saying what they want sometimes. I'd much rather they didn't worry about it so much.

[He may be a lord, but...that's just a title, right? A responsibility rather than a nobility. A representation of what his family's been tasked with. ]

And Lhant's...well, it's a nice place to live. It isn't anywhere near the size of Barona, but the townspeople know one another by name and are always ready to help out. We've got a big windmill in the middle of town, and lots of cryas deposits in the area. If you go Northwest and a little off the main road, there's a hill overlooking the water where flowers bloom year round.

[Finished now, Asbel studies her curiously, and finally asks:] ...Reports? Sorry, I never asked for your name, did I? I'm Asbel.

[A wry grin appeared on her lips when he mentioned titles holding back what people want to say.]

I don't think you need to worry about me holding back.

[She listened quietly to how he described his town, a soft smile appeared as he described it with much love.

As for reports, it's one of my jobs I have to do in the Order after going out onto the field.

[Relaxing his back against the bench now his smile improved a bit before he pushed his glasses up and looked out at the rain a moment again.]

Though, I suppose I may be doing a bit better still now. Even if I'm half-dead. Do you feel a pulse?

[He held out a wrist daintily for her to check, obviously in a rare mood today. Perhaps it's because of a certain puppeteer.]

[Playing along, the puppeteer pressed two fingers to his pulse area, waiting a moment before looking at him in shock.]

Colonel...I don't know how to put this but...I don't feel a pulse...I think you're...fully dead!

[Fishing? If he were asked, he'd think the rain would startle the fish into deeper depths, something like that. But it makes enough sense to not question it.]

Certainly not, I'm not a fisherman, after all. Is that something you like to do?

[He isn't carrying a visible pole, nor does it look like he has any bait handy, but it's worth asking. The hobbies of the Lilin are always fascinating, so much so that he doesn't mind discussing them in the middle of a rainstorm.]

[Sonic didn't turn away, and he didn't have a reason to. He kept his attention focused solely on Shadow.]

Whatever it is, I can get myself out of it. I don't mind if you worry about me sometimes, but not all the time.

[ taking makoto's clothes is just more convenient. he finishes putting things away, more or less, before he gets to his feet, dusting himself off. ]

[ He stares at him a bit longer before turning away, giving a usual 'hmph'. He walks back to his corner, back to drying off. It was a good idea anyway... To back off. He had been too concerned with Sonic lately, maybe for his own selfish reasons. Sonic had earlier joked that he stayed out in the rain or put himself in danger just to see Shadow, and that joke had angered the black hedgehog. He was getting too personal, too deep. Backing out was the only option now. ]

If that is what you wish, then I'll believe you. [ He walks to the door, though it hung open due to damages to the building. ] You can handle yourself here.

[He pauses a moment, looking at her then at his wrist in concern. He then shakes it lightly and lets it fall away.]

I suppose the rumors are true after all; I don't have a heart.

[He then chuckled lightly.]

[Sonic watched as Shadow walked away from him. He smirked a little.]

It's up to you what you wanna do, heh. Sure, I can handle myself here, it's not a big deal.

But you're the one who gets all lonely and stuff. [Sonic shrugged.] You know where to find me if you're lookin' for me again though.

[ Shadow stopped, visibly irritated by that mention. ]
