Is that my next target?

Now that you mention it...I'll consider it.
At a minimum, I'll let you mess with the system in her building.

Oh good, I do love terrorizing unsuspecting bureaucrats.

I can't decide if I want to take her out, or take her out.
no subject
Not to be confused with ordering takeout. One of those things you have to be real careful about specifying.

For a little background, my ex-husband was undercover at the time he asked her out so she wouldn't realize the connection. Takeout is good, then I can decide how I want to handle her in the car.
no subject
Asked her out as a strategic maneuver, or... Anyway, sounds like his fault. Not hers for the coincidental resemblance and his sad inability to move on. Think your handling of her should be more of the hot revenge variety.

Well I can try to fix that with the costume guy. We'll get you some cute, functional stuff. What's the style you'd want to wear if it could be anything?
I guess, he was trying to buy time to steal some data. Completely his fault for fumbling. Maybe I'll just leave her be, I don't want to be looking into a mirror the next morning. I just wanted to complain about it.

... Style? [look, she has absolutely no clue what any of that even really means. or fashion terms other than goth. and she's not going to say goth. but it's probably goth.]
Yeah, leaving her be would be the move of any sane, well-adjusted individual that didn't measure their own self worth in the actions of some pathetic man. [it's not like SHE struggles any while thinking about a certain blond's ex-wife that he complains about having fumbled from time to time. nope. no weird insecure jealousy issues here at all.]

[ Black seemed to be a hit for most of them, but it wouldn't hurt to mix it up if Ava wanted something different. ]
The self worth is meassured on the death of my parents and security of my job. He's like the little side dish surprise from the chef. Arresting him was good closure to move on anyway. [ Yeah, nope, they have nothing in common there... ]
no subject
Or. Lighter grey.
Nothing with... frills or bows or lace or anything like that.
[she has absolutely no clue. her mind is just drawing a blank.]
Oh, and not showing skin.
Ah. [no nothing in common at all. don't look at her.] ... How'd it happen?
no subject
Which one? My parents, my career path, or how I arrested Everett? [ She knows which one, but she'll try to delay it all the same. ]
no subject
Parents. You know about mine. Only fair.
no subject
[ Fair is fair, but she'll keep it high level all the same. ] There was this guy who, uh, pretended to be my dad's friend and followed me to the house. Shot my dad in the chest, and then my mom came down the hallway... [ If she winces, it's less than subtle. ] He took me after that, until SHIELD.
no subject
[quiet, because alright that is a lot and none of it she expected. she's trying to figure out where the cow story fits into this. before or after?] Took you? That's rather generous. I never took in the orphans of my targets.
no subject
Anyway, the story on file is a restaurant bombing because I don't want to explain all that and the political turmoil of 70s Italy.
It's probably for the best those orphans ended up with other family than whatever fate they would've had in a government agency.
