Uuuuuuuuugh!

He understands there's a storm raging outside. He understands everyone is seeking shelter in the only inn in this place. He also knows no one could pay him to sleep on his own ship where he's got to worry about sea water and the way the harsh winds move his ship like a toy in a very large, very potentially deadly tub.

He isn't sure what possessed him to share a room with Red Hair fucking Shanks again. He should have stayed with his crew -- that's currently partying with Shanks' in the attached bar still, as far as he knows. Or maybe they'll all simply pass out wherever they fall. Maybe he'd rather be down there partying and passing out too.

Not that he didn't bring a couple bottles of rum with him to get through the night.

He takes a swig from one of them and huffs, tapping his foot.

He isn't sure why they were stuck with the room with the one bed, and of course, this is all somehow Shanks' fault. Not the people seeking refuge until morning. "You should take the floor," Buggy declares as he walks towards the bed and sits on the edge, testing the mattress.

"Beauty sleep is very important to me! And I remember your snoring all night."

Does he really? Whatever. Not like Shanks can hear whether he snores in his sleep or not, so Buggy will take his chance to remind the idiot that he is in no way perfect!

Some nights it was just too dangerous to be at sea, so going to an inn was the best option. Except when Buggy's crew arrives, all the rooms have been booked and paid for by the rowdy bunch already partying at the bar. It must annoy Buggy to see Shanks the center of attention. The life of the party. It was always so easy for people to love him.

But with the arrival of a group in need, the Red Hair pirates and their captain charitably offered to share their rooms and their booze. How could Buggy's crew refuse?

As they're both becoming tired, Shanks offers to show Buggy his room. Naturally, he'll have to share, which must amuse Shanks to no end. He sits at a small table with a bottle of whiskey in hand.

"But I paid for the bed," he reminds. "Besides, it'll be like when we were kids. It'll be fun."

"What was fun about that?" Buggy grumbles as he kicks off his boots and goes to scoot further up on the mattress and lean back against a pillow with a sigh.

"And a good host would sacrifice his comfort for a guest!" Never mind that Buggy is hardly a guest. But it isn't his fault they were caught out in the rain! Or that the inn was too full up!

Jim's been to his fair share of parties before. High blood affairs full of formal dances, several-coursed meals, so many toasts, and on and on and on with decorum and obligation. He has never been to the sort of party blossoming through the camp. The smile hasn't left his face all night. He's beaming from ear to ear talking to every single one of the tiefling guests from the druid's grove. Watching folk sing, dance, and make merry with no obligation abound.

Children playing by the water's edge -- Jim's grateful Wyll is keeping watch over them for now, even if from a distance. He offers up his tent to Rolan and his siblings when the apprentice wizard complains too loudly over a glass of wine that there weren't enough tents to go round and Lia had apparently lent theirs out to the children. More might come crash with them, but it's a modicum of privacy at least for the little family.

Which leaves Jim at something of a loose end. He wanders the camp making sure everyone has enough to eat or drink. Makes sure all his companions are well for the night. He's intending to just settle in by the fire with Scratch when he catches Gale plucking up a bottle of the Amnian dessert wine and wanders closer to nudge the other's shoulder with his own.

"Making off with a whole bottle for yourself?? You are letting your hair down for the evening. Metaphorically, of course."

Gale smiles, soft around the edges in a way that confirms this is not his first bottle of the evening. "I'd prefer something dry, given my preference, but tonight isn't a night for playing at being a sommelier. Besides, Shadowheart absconded with the best vintage we had," he replies. "Yet, given all we've accomplished, it truly is a night for celebration. I'm surprised you don't have a bottle to yourself as well!"

[With Fisk ending up opposing everyone who wore a mask, it meant that certain grudges had to be set aside for the moment and alliances formed with people that Bullseye would have never worked with otherwise in a hundred years. The enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that shit. By the time Daredevil found him, he was very tired of having to be on the run all the time to stay one step ahead of the task force, and was more willing to listen to reason. He was still debating over what answer to give when the task force themselves showed up, which led to the two of them having to fight and then flee to elsewhere in the city when reinforcements got called in.

This was how as the sun started to come up, they found themselves in some rundown abandoned apartments that looked like they'd been partially destroyed during the Chitauri invasion and never rebuilt. Battered, bruised, and exhausted, they'd need to stay there until they were back to 100% and could figure out their next move. Most everything that wasn't nailed down had been stolen by looters but there had been an enormous queen anne style bedframe that must have been made of solid wood and an equally as big mattress that no one without super strength as a power was going to be able to move. It was the only bed left and it appeared the two of them were going to be in for an awkward situation.

Dex was currently sitting down on it as he pulled another shard of glass out of his arm, wincing as he did so.]

Next time, could you at least open the window before you make me jump out of it with you?

[ It wasn't Matt's first choice to ask Bullseye for help. He went back and forth on it for a while, actually, before he realized it was the most reasonable thing to do. A part of him felt like Dex wanted to do better, somewhere inside of him, and Matt's always tried to believe in the better sides of people. Putting aside everything, Daredevil needs Bullseye and Bullseye needs Daredevil if they want to put an end to Fisk's rising empire.

Of course, that doesn't make it easy. Matt's annoyed that they got caught off guard, he's annoyed they have to lose a day to recover, and he's annoyed that Dex is complaining when Matt just saved their lives. ]

Sorry, next time I'll ask the nice officers if they can just give me a moment to do that.

[Dex took the bloody piece of glass he was still holding and threw it at Matt's face, deliberately skimming it so that if it connected it would leave only the thinnest cut behind on his cheek, no worse or deeper than a paper cut.]

You can also tell them to stand still so I can bury some knives in their throats.

[This was what he got for ending up in a forced team-up situation with someone stubbornly holding onto morals that were the complete opposite of what Dex followed. Granted, Dex's morals had always been based far more around the personal relationships he formed than anything else, so maybe being around Matt might eventually have the effect of kickstarting a shift away from the darkness he'd been in for so long.]

[Welp, looks like he'll have to sleep with his mask on.... Or not sleep.]

Halsin isn't exactly one to sleep at an inn, since he much prefers sleeping under the stars or within simple quarters much like he had at the Sacred Grove. This night, the weather had turned foul, making it impractical to camp out. Fortunately, they were close to the Friendly Arms Inn, just east of Baldur's Gate, and decided to simply stay there for the night.

This night, the inn is very busy and there are only a few rooms left, meaning they have to take what they get. And what they get was a room with only a single bed. Even Halsin can see how this might be inconvenient.

"If you want, I can take my animal form and sleep on the floor."

Alivian's mostly just happy to be out of the rain. Even the usual soaps he uses doesn't quite negate wet-fur smell. Once they're indoors, he's in the middle of shucking off his coat when he notices the singular bed. Behind the mask, he squints at it, but then straightens up at the suggestion. His head gives a very slight "what's that noise?" head tilt, and his lips press briefly together.

"...Apologies. Do I make you uncomfortable? I can take the floor if that's the case."

His body will hate him, but what else is new?
