❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧

Winter is her favorite season, but it's snowing too hard to really be outdoors. Not that she hadn't tried. Her pink nose and pink cheeks speak volumes; she is even starting to shiver despite Warming Charms, a heavy cloak, a scarf, mittens and layered clothing underneath.

But the trek had been worth it. She is situated in the Hog's Head Pub, tucked into a mercifully warm seat. As she tugs off her various layers, she notices that there are some ice crystals on her hair. With a wave of her wand, they melt and she sets about re-braiding her ponytail. She then secures the mass of red into a bun with some bobby-pins.

Only after she is sure she doesn't look too bedraggled does she look around. Surely he would be here? Why is she so anxious? This is just another Hogsmeade weekend, right?

Except...it isn't. Today is the day she wants to talk to him about their futures. Part of her fears the discussion will end in a fight while the rest of her knows this conversation needs to happen. Taking a sip of her butterbeer, she swallows the comforting brew and rests her cheek against her hand.

[ oh, it would be a lie to say that old castles aren't one of hades' very favorite places to haunt. they're so delightfully spooky! but it is not the atmosphere that draws him here today, nor the desire to soak in the old, dank darkness, but something very different..

it feels like cold, and like the white light of the moon, and like nothing hades has ever felt before, truth be told; there is no familiarity in this signal. apollo, zeus, poseidon.. hades knows the feel of them, the energy they produce, the very fibers of their presence but this is none of them, this is no god -- or is it? is this perhaps something new? a fresh, newborn deity born now to this plane from the hearts and minds of mortals, from the fabric of the cosmos, from the deep black mystery?

truly spoken, it's enough to draw him from the deep bowels of the earth to watch, to listen. like a curious child he is pulled here, to find -- what? this creature.. like zeus, like artemis, like both, and neither, he isn't entirely sure. it feels like sky and ice and cold light. ]

[ his entrance is characteristically unremarkable. hades simply appears from the shadows like a dark wraith, coalescing somewhere behind yue, his footfalls eerily silent, his hair dragging like dark ropes against ancient, dusty stone. he speaks, almost as if to himself, on a voice smooth and dark and liquid as ink. ]

[Kovu leans back in his chair, sighing. He never liked it too much when there was too much snow falling to go outside, and he's not the biggest fan of the cold, either. At least it's warm in here, and he's got a mug of hot chocolate to sip while he waits for everyone to get back. The quiet time's nice, at least.]

[ Of course they're sent on a quest in winter, and naturally they're right in the middle of Blizzardsville when it decides to get seasonal. It's freezing, even for Leo, and he could honestly care less about the stupid quest anymore. He just wants to get out of the wind and snow where he can start a good fire. [They were staying at a small inn to study the wildlife in the area, specifically the habits of a local wolf pack. The snow today was making things a little difficult and so everyone had elected to stay in and do some things in and around the establishment.

Chris stretched as he walked across the sitting room; though he wouldn't admit it out loud, he was a little relieved they'd stayed in. Not only because it gave him (and his brother) a chance to review video footage they'd taken, but he was more than happy to hang around in the warmth radiating from a stately fireplace in the room.

On opening his eyes he spotted Kovu and walked over, smiling.]
