❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧

Whoof, it was cold out. The blizzard was driving down and Hibiki was stuck at Kanade's place for the night. So, she was sucking down hot cocoa as fast as possible, like it would vanish.

"Ah! This is great! Is this a new blend for the store?"

[Chihiro fidgits anxiously, stomping up and down to keep warm and also to keep from losing her boots in the snow.] Just walking. I like the snow. [Which is, strictly, true. The snow is peaceful, and muffles the world in all its strangeness. It's cold, yes, but the cold is refreshing after the fire blazing in the common room.

She was tired of being at odds with those he called friends. How could he see something worthwhile in them if he saw something worthwhile in her? They were opposite ends of the spectrum and it was confusing. It wasn't the first time that she wondered if Severus had a side to him that she didn't know anything about.

But she was too cold and too drained to think much further than that. Giving a little shiver, she followed his urging, expression caught between fatigue and sadness.

"You didn't even get butterbeer." she murmured and was about to turn and lead the way to the Three Broomsticks when he caught her attention again. A little flare of warmth followed his words and she suddenly found herself hugging one of his arms to her chest.

"I love you too, Sev." against all odds, she did. She probably always would. Not all the Slytherins or Death Eaters or Dark Lords in the world could change the fact that, for her, the world she loved best was tied directly to him. Without him around, nothing was the same.

[Hibiki was alone in her family's large house... and as luck would have it, the heating was broken. Which meant huddling in large, thick blankets while the snow came down heavily outside.

[The weather is hardly ideal for a walk, but Bella had never seen snow before and some exercise would do Bilbo and Thorin both some good. Stepping outside, the puppy immediately ran for the snow and Thorin let her, keeping loose hold on her leash and chuckling.]
