stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.

scenarios;

① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.

② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

Metal has learned many bizarre wastes of disc space, and clearly the time is right to implement /etc/recreation/snowballs.create.

They're not very good. The robot has clearly been experimenting with different types of snow and methods of shaping, but all two dozen are neatly stacked, and he's shaping yet another tiny improvement on the last one when he notices Grim.

"...Identify yourself?"

That's 'hello' in any other language.

[Grim has sloooowly been approaching Metal Sonic through the snow, because— well, what the heck kind of robot is that?! It's no humanoid like Ortho, but does that make it friend or foe? Metal Sonic's dedication to the craft of snowballs doesn't clear anything up for him, but Grim isn't terribly sneaky, so it's no wonder Metal Sonic takes notice of him.

Grim pops out of the snow like popcorn when acknowledged, giving a little kitty-scream and raising a paw in defense.]

Whaddya mean, identify yourself?! Isn't that your job?

You're walkin' in the presence of the Great Future Mage Grim, y'know, you should be the one making introductions!

[ Creepin' up on a robot like that, no wonder he got the rudest possible greeting, obviously on purpose and not just because Metal's lacking in social graces. He stares down Grim for a moment, which is easy because of the no blinking, still holding a partly formed snowball that has been pushed to the back of the importance queue. ]

You are from the future? [ That's very intereswait actually. ] Or you will be a Mage in the future? [ That could also be interesting, maybe. Just not AS interesting. Metal indicates his own little turbine tummy without any airs or graces. ]

Designation: Metal Sonic.

What? No, I meant, I'm gonna be a Great mage in the future!

[Grim looks a bit cross at first, but... his nerves win out again, as he makes an alarming realization. That turbine doesn't look like Ortho's tech either!

...not that Grim knows much about robots that aren't Ortho at all, but not being an expert is exactly why he's alarmed!]

Wait, why would you go askin' a question like that anyway?

D-does that mean... you're from the future?!

What are you currently? [ Metal can tell that he is getting on Grim's nerves (at best!), but he can't figure out how to do better, at least not without a lot of trial and error. ] ...Average Mage Grim?

[ That's good deduction, beastie. ] Originally. Yes. [ His presence in the timeline is sort of treated by everybody else as normal, but it ain't. It is, however, much less exciting than people might think: ] I cannot travel in any but the standard direction from my current point.

A-average?! I'm just a mage-in-training!

[Many, many of his fellow students would say 'Average Mage Grim' is accurate, though.]

Oh, so you're stuck in time now? I got a buddy like that. Maybe not from the future, though. Yeah, who knows where in the universe that guy comes from.

What can you do? [ Go on, show him a magic trick.

Metal shakes his head 'no' at being stuck in time - he just means that he doesn't move through it at will, just moment-to-moment now - he doesn't talk much, usually, so no wonder he's not great at sophisticated communication concepts, yet. ]

Why snowballs? [ Metal hands one off to Grim, one of the better, but still sad ones. ] Any data is useful. I am always learning.

Oh, huh. I guess that makes sense.

[ Freezing. Freeezing, FREEZING. Unfortunately Agnes was one of the sad little souls that missed the bus, and the next one wasn't due until... ]

An hour....? Oh dear..

[ She's going to get scoldeeeed. But eh, at least it wasn't her fault this time! ... technically. .. okay maybe it was, a little,.. this also means she might have to walk to the train station and that was going to suck. She was going to be a SnowAgnes by the time she got there. Although with the way the weather was the smart thing to do was call home for a ride. Which is exactly what had Agnes pushing open the door of the nearest cafe/eater/shelter so she could get out of the snow and warm up. Tracking puddles everywhere. ]

Sorry, I can clean that up - you might want to be careful where you step! It's really bad out there..!

[ 6. Sheltered!
[ Be jelly, be super duper strawberry jelly. Agnes had made it indoors, and it was certainly warmer and cozier than it was out on the street. That being said, she was on the lookout for anyone else who might possibly be stranded outside as well, ready to offer some warm coffee and shelter until the worst of the weather had passed. Anyone having already accepted her hospitality, she was also there to offer some coffee and pastries - thankfully the power shouldn't be interrupted, but there were other issues that could crop up on a fierce winter's day. Like leaks. ]

He's just as likely to be inside by a fire as he is to be out making snow art. Stranded is also good. Perhaps they need to share body warmth for shipping or awkward purposes? Perhaps they must walk for help and be forced to work together or break some tension. )
