The OVER A DRINK Meme

1. Post with your character.

2. You're at a bar. What kind of bar? Any kind you want. From fantasy taverns where various species mingle to futuristic space bars where half the drinks will probably kill you, or even an overly kitsch themed place where everything is overpriced, it's all good as long as there are drinks and company.

3. Respond to other characters. Perhaps you want to buy them a drink. Or perhaps you're inclined to be bought a drink. Maybe you saw someone you knew, or maybe you just want someone to talk to. Could be there's nowhere else to sit, and could be you want to drag them out to dance.

4. Get drunk. Or don't! Be the guest, or the bartender, or the newcomer, or even the janitor. Mingle, make friends, or lurk in a corner.

5. They say alcohol lowers one's inhibitions. Might just be time to find out how much.

I'm not worried about you making it.

[ Globally worried and protective? Sure. that's who he is as a person at this point. But he slides off the stool and stands nearby and waits for Asher to start moving.]

Throwing up on me, maybe.

[ He is deliberately making it light.]

[ Steve’s jab earns him a grin. Ash sways a moment after he gets off the stool but he doesn’t fall over so that’s a plus in his book. He’s making his way toward the door, each step a little more deliberate than if he were sober. ]

Who knows? I did eat pancakes on your shield. I’m unpredictable.

[imperfectsoldier]

I'm more shocked you can get drunk than that you used my shield as a plate. [ He doesn't touch Ash until they're outside, then it's an immediate arm around the waist, holding on with his hand on Ash's hip.]

[skoll]

I’m a lightweight, clearly.

[ he doesn’t realize how unsteady he is until Steve balances him. He leans in closer, resting an arm around his shoulders. ]

You know they’d prolly arrest you for this if you weren’t some kind of amazing hero.

[ There you go, he thinks quite clearly and with more than a little relief when Ash leans back]

Which part of it?

[There are at least... a couple? Maybe three. Hell if he knows.]

[skoll]

I'm not supposed to drink, you know. Technically. And you don't have my paperwork. So like a uh. Double thing.

They'll put you in the stocks for sure.

[imperfectsoldier]

You're a person, not my pet, and I'll break their face.
[Like, quite possibly literally. Then go on the run. It's fine. There are ethics here.]

[skoll]

I'm starting to think you like me, Cap.

[ For a moment, his face scrunches, like there's something he wants to say. But he changes his mind at the last second. ]

But I like you too. So that's all right.

[imperfectsoldier]

I do like you, and I'm outraged at your treatment. Be careful where you point me.

[ But also? Walking.]

Your stomach behaving?

[skoll]

Yeah, yeah. I'm good.

[ He stops to catch his breath but he's moving again in a minute or two. ]

You're gonna go grey if you keep worrying.
