Doctor Who AU Meme 2.0

1. Time Lord/Lady - A member of the Gallifreyan race, you have two hearts, low-level telepathic abilities, and your very own TARDIS. You are also capable of regeneration: when close to death, a Time Lord can replace every single atom in their body, starting everything over fresh; new body, new personality! They are capable of doing this twelve times, making for thirteen total bodies (barring special circumstances). How old are you, by the way? 78? 239? 1252? Older?
   
   This very nifty and sentient machine lets you travel anywhere and anywhen; all of time and space are your playground! You can go to different points in the history of the universe, and in special circumstances, to different universes! Oh, and did we mention that the TARDIS is bigger on the inside? It's also capable of shifting its outer appearance to disguise itself in different times and places (but sometimes this breaks and it gets stuck in one form. Blue Police Box, anyone?).
2. TARDIS - Did we mention that the TARDIS is sentient? If we didn't, now you know. These machines are very much alive and capable of seeing all of time and space. In fact, they exist across all of time and space. That little bit you see on the outside? It's just a door to a living pocket universe, hence: bigger on the inside!
   
   Maybe the matrix that makes up the TARDIS has been pulled into a new body (and maybe that body can't contain the energy), or maybe there's a holographic interface. No matter what the case is, the TARDIS can now interact with people. Have at it!
3. Companion - Aren't you a lucky person? You get to travel with your Time Lord or Lady everywhere they go! You should feel very special, because a Time Lord's companions are some of the best and brightest in the universe. But watch out- being a Time Lord's companion comes with many dangers. History is one of the most perilous tourist destinations. Make sure not to lose your hat!
4. Enemy - Did you think that someone who can live for thousands of years wouldn't make any enemies? Time Lords are often envied and feared for their powers and technology. Single Time Lords have made enemies of whole empires spanning galaxies. And sometimes they've made enemies of individuals, simple people with simple lives who have resented their lives being intruded upon. Not everyone is ready for a bigger world.
5. Human+ - Far in the future, humans have begun to spread among the stars. As they do, they begin to change and evolve. They begin to incorporate alien DNA. They become something more. Maybe you have pheromones meant to draw in creatures of all sexes and genders; all it takes is a smile and a wink. Maybe you were conceived close to some sort of temporal rift, making you a little closer to a Time Lord than a human. You might be a companion to a Time Lord, you might not be, but either way - you're brilliant, magnificent, and humanity's future.
6. Other - There are so many possibilities here. Maybe you're just a resident of a different time and place, the object of a Time Lord's affections and curiosity. If it wasn't listed above, or you feel like mixing and mashing things up, this is your option. Have at it!

1: TARDIS: Spent forever being treated as a mindless tool. However, thanks to his last pilots, the AuXiliary Empathic Likeness came into use, and he's had a chance to explore what having a mind and personality means... now, he's looking to find what became of them.

2: Companion(/Human+): From a world that just about drifts through its sun's corona, inhabitants engineered to be able to tolerate the most hostile environments imaginable. Tends to complain playfully about the cold on normal worlds.]

Absolutely fascinated by even the most dire of circumstances and most ferocious of monsters. But it's lonely work, even if he won't admit it, so company is appreciated. And he loves all the different worlds, for all their insanity, and will fight to the regeneration death to defend them.

Companion - There's no such thing as time travel. Or aliens. Is there? There is? Giles has got to see this.

Alternatively, scale him up to Human+, which removes the skepticism but not the curiosity. Either way, Giles won't need much convincing to come along.))

[Chihiro had always been told that you had to be a grown-up, or at least older than she was, to be able to drive. But her parents had been referring to cars and motorcycles. Not time machines. Apparently, time machines were fine, and accommodating enough to put the necessary pedals in easy reach.

Currently, they're speeding on to yet another destination. Aang had insisted that it be a surprise. Chihiro isn't sure how she feels about that - on the one hand, Aang hasn't steered them wrong yet. When they go off course, it's usually just because he gets distracted by another idea.

On the other, they could be going literally anywhere, and she's more than a bit nervous why this time is different.]

Do you need any help? [She asks this while waiting by the door, watching him work. She knows better than to look out the windows while they're traveling, but Chihiro has always been curious about how, exactly, the TARDIS works.]

((ooc: Idea 1 - Mao as a Human+ type who comes into possession of the TARDIS after the Time Lord owning it is incapacitated. He sets about trying to figure out how it works, with Wally as the Time Lord or TARDIS.

Idea 2 - Mao is the TARDIS, put in a new body to contain him safely because there are some malfunctions going on in the matrix and the machinery. Wally is a companion he's finally "properly" meeting, or the Time Lord, or maybe a random human who gets caught up in things.))

[That little bit of timey wimey interference had come from Chihiro. She hadn't meant for it to happen...but, looking at the results, she couldn't say she felt too bad about it. No one should be created just to fight. She'd meant just to shut down the mechanical soldiers, give them some relief from that fate and spare the ones they'd been made to march against from a brutal war.

But one of the soldiers had held on.

Since she was the one who had given him life, Chihiro had taken responsibility for helping him figure out what to do with it.

The persistent rumble of the engines slowly dies away, and Chihiro stretches, her arms aching after navigating a long flight.]

We're here. Are you ready?

[At a glance, he'd seem like just a teenaged boy. Just a kid who'd gotten himself pulled into the war thinking it seemed like a good idea at the time. Low-ranking, barely old enough to fight...
At a closer look, though, it was clearer what he was. Sophisticated, these androids. But not perfect.

He looks over at her from where he's standing, a little hint of something that he's learning to call worry on his face-]

I ... guess I am.

[ This was the last time Wally was going to take a trip into Raxacoricofallapatorian space; they'd caught sight of the TARDIS' outer shell and blasted at it - apparently they had a hate for Time Lords, and he had no idea why... So that forced the ol' gal to transport for emergency repairs on the nearest seemingly non-hostile planet, and forcefully eject him because of the dangers of the system undergoing self-repair. To say the least, the force of the expulsion left him unconscious for a good while. He was surprised he hadn't been required to regenerate.

When he woke up, lying face down on some hard concrete, he groaned and pushed up to his feet. ]

Note to self- no more flying through Raxacal- ugh, that place. [ Wincing, he looked about for his ship, brushing some dust off of his cargo pants and t-shirt. Very casual. Very Earth, 21st century. It was classic, alright?

Green eyes locked on to the mysterious machine, which had decided to disguise itself as... a red- ... Wally tilted his head. What was it supposed to be? Nevermind that- He shook his head and darted off toward it, ignoring the curious stares from all the locals. Time to get the girl up and running and back where he needed to go. ]

[One from the heart of a sun, one from the frozen wastes. The Time Lord who picked these two up has a bizarre sense of humor, or maybe just a love for matched sets.

Either way, they'd made a good team on their travels together so far, responding to whatever problems came their way with dry wit and quick thinking. But up until now, they'd faced down those problems with their Time Lord to conduct the situation, mediating between them.

Now, in a city ravaged by a Cyberman invasion, they find themselves stranded and on their own.

Loki watches warily from the roof they've retreated to, staring down at the Cybermen marching by below, harrying their captured humans on.]

...you know he'll be on his way to the conversion facility. [If he hasn't been captured yet, he'll go there anyway to try and save these people.]

Good. [She smiles reassuringly up at him, recognizing that worry and glad to see it. Not that she's happy he's feeling worried, just that she's happy he's feeling something. Chihiro puts the TARDIS in park, and then goes to take his arm, meaning to lead him on.] It'll be okay. Just ask me if you don't understand anything.

[She pulls him on towards the doors, and then pushes them open. Revealed outside is a vast, manicured park, stretching on towards the horizon, filled with creatures of all species and description.]

I like coming here. No one will bother us.

Yeah. Just like him, huh?

[Axel's eyeing the marching masses with a sick feeling inside, his words a little more subdued than normal. To lose their selves, their hearts... it's the worst fate he can imagine. He knows why their travelling partner'd try to save them from that - it's making him angry to even think about having to live that way, being reduced to nothing but code.

Thinking about that happening to someone like their Time Lord, too... even worse.]

[Unfortunately, Wally would find the TARDIS doors ajar, and someone already moving around in the console room. The perception filters had flickered on and off while the self-repair was going on, allowing Mao to see the TARDIS as it landed and wonder where it had come from. Already a boy with a mind for science and strange happenings, the rest had been a foregone conclusion.

Curiosity had led him to look inside, and curiosity had kept him here. He was in heaven.] Unobtanium based couplings! Iridium transformers! The sheer elegance of it! [The console gives a faint, stuttering whine. Mao pats it affectionately.] Relax. You're in the hands of a genius, now. I'll get you up and running again. [It would be a crime to leave such a glorious piece of technology to rot. Mao didn't know where it had come from, and he didn't particularly care. Just the chance to be here and poke around was a dream come true.]

[Some little programming quirk, perhaps, a remnant of the boy his model'd been based on. But feeling'd been coming to him ever since he left the world that made him, once he'd been able to think about the situation...

He's easier to push around than his size and weight might indicate, willingly following orders - no, suggestions. But the view of the outside has him looking around like he'd just walked into a wonderland.
Compared to his homeworld, perhaps it is.]

...Whoa. This is - real, isn't it? I didn't know...

Of course it is. [She draws them outside, closing and locking the TARDIS doors behind them. The key hangs on a braided strip of twine around her neck, tucked safely and out of sight under her shirt.] I'm not surprised you don't know about it, though. We're pretty far from home by now.

[A galaxy or two away from his world, to be precise.

Chihiro beckons for him to follow, leading the way down a neatly cobbled pathway set into the grass. A Silurian sits on a bench beside the path, tapping away on a handheld computer, and a small pod of Isolus drifts lazily by in the sunlight overhead.] This isn't really a planet. It's just a moon, orbiting Corialis Zeta. Terraforming efforts were really successful here - a lot of the planets in this collective almost went to war for it.

[Proudly, she adds:] I had another idea.
