Classic, large vanilla cake, white buttercream frosting with a small hint of lemon. Coated very lightly on top with small chocolate candies.

Eaten almost straight out of the oven. Some parts of the frosting melted a little.

I tried to savor it, so it only lasted a week.

That's probably six days longer than I'd have it for, from the sound of it. You baked it yourself?

Well, I can't function only with sugar, sadly to say. The last time I tried, I started having some issues with being able to do anything productive. Namely, I kept having sugar highs and crashes at inopportune times.

I did bake it. Baking is a hobby of mine when I'm not too lazy about it. Otherwise I just buy it from bakeries. Not the same, but works well in a pinch.

I'm completely the opposite. A day without sugar is a day I yearn for death's gentle embrace.

I've tried my hand at baking, but everyone tells me I add too much sugar. Like, way too much. As in no one else can stomach it but me. I think I'm improving, though.

If you want to let me try anything of yours, let me know. I'm the kind of person that enjoys drinking tea and getting a bunch of sugar left-over on the bottom of the glass. It's awesome when it tastes vaguely like tea.

But I didn't say that I go without sugar. I just have to be careful with how much I have. So, lucky for you!

I'll keep that in mind - out of fairness, though, I feel I should warn you that previous taste testers have, on occasion, sent pies back the way they came in. If you catch my drift.

It probably won't happen to me. I'm built a lot sturdier than most, and even when I was messing around with recipes, I didn't have any issues.

Unless the concoction is physically toxic, or repulsive to the senses, I can keep it down. That includes pastries with sugar abuse.

I tend to pair speedsters together for high avoid. Otherwise, yeah, according to needed defenses.

...I'd offer rock candy, but that's still hardening. It'll be awhile longer.

I'm intending a large two-layer cake - not sure if chocolate or vanilla. Maybe one of each. But... services? Would you mind elaborating? *He has no idea. None.*

{Hell yeah. And since it's summer, I'm getting tier-1 character streetpass tags onto my worldmap. A lot of which have the gist of "go easy on me." I feel bad for them - they get my normal-mode end-game team, full of stat caps everywhere and lots and lots of skills. Though I don't have any of the DLC classes. I'm taking it very slow in hard mode because rushing ahead too much is not working too well. XD}}

Well, if you're ever asked to acquire something called an HC, be very careful. If the odds are not in your favor, it could be a death-trap to even attempt.

Other than that, I really don't have much use for those kinds of skills at the moment. *He smiles wryly.*

[ Definitely doesn't sound familiar - he's never been asked to steal anything that's abbreviated, for that matter. ]

I'll keep that in mind, but I usually don't sign on for suicide missions. Just one, so far.

N-no... I don't think I'd like that. I try to live, ah, an "honest" life. I don't need to have thievery on top of people trying to pick fights with me. I can generally buy what I need....

*He huffs, flustered.*

Besides, 'exotic underclothes' wouldn't look good on me.

*You don't know what's under the clothing, Gaius. At least Haruki's not a risen? There's a reason that he wears covering clothing.*

An HC is short for "Hybrid Child". They're expensive, life-sized dolls. Only the upper class can afford them.

{...I just gave myself an idea. I have 2 other HC muses besides Haruki. I'm curious how Gaius would react to figuring out that HCs are alive in the midst of trying to steal one? XDD;; }}

If one falls on you, some of your bones can break, and then that's the end of the road if you get caught. The older models especially, weigh about as much as a heavy suit of armor - helmet and all.

Carrying one is difficult for a one-person team unless the HC is tiny. You can tell what is an HC is because they have visible joint marks and partially transparent skin over those parts. Their eyes also look like glass. *Fortunately, Haruki's eyes no longer look that way.*

I think I'd manage to avoid getting crushed under one. It would be pitiful if that's what did me in after having dodged blades and spells alike.

Just telling you a basic descriptor. There are cloth dolls too, you know? For all you could know, I was talking about possessed cloth dolls that spring to life and swallow people whole!
