sorry for cuddle rockin'

(or the SHAMELESS FLUFF meme)
The room you wake in is unfamiliar. The decor is red and gaudy, the pillows and other features of the room ♥heart-shaped♥. The bed is, thankfully, comfortable.
And there's someone in the bed with you. Are they male, female, or otherwise? A total stranger, or an old lover? Older than you, or younger than you? Well, no matter who they are, even if you would never dream of it otherwise, you're suddenly filled with an urge to cuddle the shit out of them. Right here, right now. And so are they, so that should work out just fine.
Let's be real. Sometimes, you just want to play fluff. Good old fashioned "cuddle up in front of a fire and snuggle like cute little bunnies" fluff. But some characters are ~anti-social~ or have ~space issues~ and it's impossible to get them to just friggin' loosen up, and building that kind of CR can take for-fucking-ever. So really, this meme is for all the shameless fluffers out there. Here's lookin' at you, kid.
HOW IT GOES DOWN:
- Comment with your characters, putting any preferences you have somewhere in the comment.
- Others will respond.
- Your characters, no matter what they would usually do or if they even know each other, will have the burning desire to smother the other person in affection and cuddles
-
- Have fun.

One, he remembered the fair, the kissing booth. Leonard remembered walking away smitten and then seeing her again later on. Laughing at an unknown joke that one of her friend's had made.
Two, he remembered nearly throwing his arm out in an effort to win a prize for her in one of the carnival games. It was still sore, but a good kind of sore.
Three, he remembered the planet wide travel embargo that kept him from getting back to the Enterprise and somewhere along the way this was were they found themselves. ]

She remembers him vividly; the two kisses, the fair, the talking. But as her eyes fall open and she get a better look at her surroundings, memory fails.
Stirring against him, Inara yawns, rolling over to face him, unwilling to pull away. ]
…Leonard?
no subject
[It isn't going to be long before whatever diplomatic mess the ships in orbit have got themselves into have a chance to clear up. Then he knows that he'll be getting a call from Enterprise all too soon.
In the meantime though, he's planning to stay exactly where he is.]
no subject
Mnm. Is it morning?
[ what...had they done? She supposed it didn't really matter; especially when he pulls her in close like that. His heat is welcome, and the only change she makes is to seek out his hands and rest hers atop. ]
no subject
Pretty sure it is. [Or noon? who really knew how long they'd slept in? Whatever had happened last night... well, one way or the other didn't make too much of a difference right now. His hand turns palm up to better meet hers.]
Hope you didn't have someplace to get too right now.
no subject
Relatively, because for whatever reason, she doesn't want to let him go. ]
Hm. [ It's a noncommittal noise she makes, and her fingers thread with his. ]
No. [ That's actually a lie. Serenity had been docked here, Inara had engagements today; meetings with the local sect of the Guild, mostly, but...
Hang it. ]
Did you?
no subject
My day should be free.
[Unless an emergency call came through, and let's face it, that was bound to happen sooner or later. It always did when it came to his ship.]
Maybe I'll even try to make something for breakfast. I don't think I've had a real meal in ages.
no subject
However... ]
That would unfortunately require you moving. [ She wriggles free of his grip, only to roll over and face him, sliding right back in against his frame. ] Decisions...
no subject
Inara.
[Leonard finally opens his eyes now, he can't resist looking at her.] You're making it really easy to decide. [Food can wait a while. This seems to be a little more important.]
You know, I don't know a thing about you. [The way he says that is a statement, not actually a question. There's something exciting in this mystery of theirs.]
no subject
[ Her voice is quiet and low, and maybe a little husky. She props her head on her hand and smiles, just a little bit coy as her hand finds his side and traces up and towards his shoulder. ]
You know my name.
[ But he's right. He doesn't know anything at all about her, though to be fair -- very few people do. She makes it a point to remain as elusive and ethereal as possible. It adds to her allure, and it doubles as a defense mechanism. Protecting herself and her emotions has always been a priority. In a different setting, he could be dangerous. ]
no subject
I suppose that's a good start. How about one more thing? [Leonard lazily lifts a hand to her hair, a little in awe of it actually.]
I never did get the story behind the kissing booth.
no subject
Alright. [ Her head tips into the touch and she sighs a little, a quiet puff of air.
Then she laughs. ]
It really was a kind of fundraiser, that booth at the fair. Out of myself and my crew, I had the best chance at raising the most money. [ ...And doing it honestly. Mal would 'handle' the rest. ]
I was elected to run it. It was Kaylee's idea.
no subject
[He curls his fingers deeper in her hair, massaging her scalp gently and with the kind of expertise only doctors and the like could manage.]
...she was the shorter one? [Leonard had only seen a few of her crew from a distance. They looked like quite the mixed assembly, but comfortable with each other all the same.] With the parasol, right?
no subject
Yes. With the parasol. Serenity needed parts, there wasn't enough money. I couldn't tell her no. [ She can never tell Kaylee no. ]
no subject
We have one thing in common, I'm a bit of a soft touch at times. [He never can tell Jim 'no' either.] Though I've got a bit of a reputation for being curmudgeonly too. I don't get that impression from you at all.
[Leonard knows little to nothing about what a Companion might be, but to him, she's just one lovely women that he counted himself damn lucky to have met.]
no subject
'Curmudgeonly'? [ Inara's smiling and she can't stop. ] I wouldn't have thought that of you. [ She reaches with her free hand, faltering for a moment, before tracing a fingertip along his jawline. ]
What do you do on the Enterprise?
no subject
[While not quite the full scruff of a few days gone shaving, his facial hair isn't exactly up to regulation at the moment. He'll get around to changing that eventually, but at the moment her finger is enough to give him a slight catch in his breath.]
hmm- oh, well, I'm a medical officer. I run the sickbay.
[With one hand still in her hair, he runs the other down her back, enjoying the slide of the silk like material that passes for sleeping attire.]
no subject
[ The finger turns into a palm, her thumb brushing over his cheekbone. ]
So you're doctor. [ She muses on that, dark eyes tracing over his features. She's very aware of his hand on her back and she presses closer, legs tangling with his. ]
That's very honorable.
no subject
Don't think that I would have done anything else, really.
[Starfleet, on the other hand. That was something that had come from left field.] But if it makes you smile like that, well then 'honorable' it a label I can take.
no subject
[ She could understand, if that was the case. Hers had been one of lawyers -- until Inara, that is. Her profession, however, was equally respected (if not more) and had not severed family ties.
He gets another smile for that, too. ]
So tell me...where does the Enterprise go from here?
no subject
..you know, I don't really know if we have a plan for that. [They were well out of range for specific orders from Starfleet. This was the farthest that their general exploratory mission had taken them.] We might have to head back into Federation space at some point soon.
no subject
Her fingers brush over his skin and slide around to tangle in his hair, pulling him closer. ]
Strange…how large the universe truly is. [ And she and all other humans like her and from her home and surrounding planets thought themselves so advanced. They didn’t even have FTL drives. ]
How far space expands…it’s beyond comprehension. Or at least, beyond mine.
