high school au meme

high school au meme
1. Post with your character with their name and series in the subject line.
2. Roll 1-20.
3. ???
4. Play out high school AU times.
1. first day
Catch up with old friends, brave new teachers, fight your way through the sea of students, and hope you're in the right classroom. Oh, you're the new kid. Well, that's okay as long as you've got more than enough summer vacation anecdotes to fill ten pages of Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced.
2. first period
You're gonna be late! Or are you already there? Class hasn't started just yet, so chat it up or copy your classmate's homework before the teacher gets here.
3. lesson proper
You're probably diligently taking notes, looking out the window daydreaming or reciting in class, much to your teacher's delight - or dismay. Try not to be too obvious when counting down the minutes and pass that note as discreetly as possible.
4. faculty
Have a bone to pick with your terror math teacher. A crush on the cute chemistry teacher? There might be something you want to ask your homeroom teacher about. In any case, you plan on seeing a faculty member today. Or maybe they plan on seeing you!
5. lunch break
Man, you are starving. Hopefully, today's menu has something good. If the crowded cafeteria's not your thing, try the rooftop.
6. hooky
One of you is skipping class. You should try talking them out of it if that's your thing.
7. detention
What on earth did you do to get this? Oh well. Detention can't be that bad when you've got all these very nice, approachable model students around to talk to.
8. p.e.
Baseball, basketball, dodgeball - no matter the sport, just remember: you are the star. It's you. At least, you hope it is.
9. home ec.
Sewing! Cooking! ... Try not to burn the school down!
10. lab work
Frog dissections! Explosions!
11. school fair/festival
Every school has one of these. What's your class doing this year?
12. theater
Oh boy, oh boy, being the star of this play is your dream. It isn't? Oh. You're still helping with the props and costumes, right?
13. library
If you need to look something up or just want some peace and quiet, this is the place. Whatever you do, shh, people are trying to read.
14. bully
Whether they take the form of Nelson Muntz or Regina George, if you choose to meet them at the gym at four o' clock or else, be ready to face the consequences... or maybe you don't have to. Not when someone's here to help you out. (This can go either way - one of the participants can be the bully or someone helping the victim.)
15. tutor
You're having trouble with a class or you're trying to make up for the days you were absent. It's a good thing someone was nice enough to offer their assistance.
16. clubs
Assuming that you actually have one. Are you writing for the school paper? Part of the student council? The marching band? Maybe you're a member of one of those weird occult clubs or something...
17. sports
Every school has their main sport - the one the school is know for! So go out to their last game a support your school with some pride.
18. prom
Do you have a dress? A date? Who are you voting for prom king? Is being on prom committee is driving you crazy? Do you even care?
19. graduation
Well, it was fun while it lasted. It's time to say those last words, settle those scores and get ready to grow up.
20. roll again/make your own scenario!
whoops what if i just tag you everywhere - 8
That doesn't make it hurt any less when the balls hits her hard enough to make her stumble, when she stumbles just enough to sprain her ankle, and sure all it needs is some ice and rest, but there's a certain humiliation in hobbling off to sit on the bleachers that she's not used to. Elena's good at this sort of stuff - or she was, anyway. Not so much these days.
There's only one other person on the bench when she drops down heavily, propping her foot up carefully, and she gives him a slightly grim smile as she carefully positions the rather mediocre ice pack over the sore area. ]
Not your favourite game either then, huh?
I'D BE OKAY WITH THAT
[ That nasty mood had bled into today in the form of jittery knees and too much bad energy building up inside him. He'd popped a klonopin sometime around second period. It had him a little sluggish right now, but sluggish was better than that. ]
[ Too sluggish, maybe - it takes him about a full ten seconds to realize that Elena's talking to him, and he rolls his head around, chin propped up on his hand where he's hunched over on the bench. What? Oh. ] Yeah.
[ He agrees slowly at first, and then wrinkles his nose. ] Yo, but is it, like, anyone's favorite? Who the hell likes dodgeball? Except for psychopaths and linebackers.
WELL GOOD CAUSE IT HAPPENED ANYWAY
She's pretty sure that she's never actually spoken to this guy - not surprising really, Elena has her friends and outside of that small group, she actually pretty much keeps to herself. Bubbly grins and bright voices are a pretty decent facade after all, and she really prefers to keep to herself over the social butterfly deal that her friends have going. There's still like an hour of this period to go though, and boredom is infinitely worse than talking to a near stranger so she just shrugs and shuffles a little closer. ]
Right? Like, I've seen some pretty nasty stuff happen when people think the teacher isn't looking.
[ She looks over at him, kind of smiling kind of not. She's amused, and he doesn't seem like a total ass. It's a start. ]
Or you know, maybe they're the psychopaths and ex linebackers of the previous generation. I'm...Elena. By the way.
captures all of these tags and keeps them in a basket
[ And this place was gigantic. Little easy to get yourself a whole lot lost in it. ]
[ He smiles a bit wanly, infinitely tiredly when she finishes, and his hand inches up to rub into one of his eyes as he nods his agreement. ] Kinda got kicked in the face, couple weeks ago. Cool, though, gotta note from home to totally skip classes for a while there. [ That was nice. Skivving out of his usual paltry attempts at participating in PE. He leans in towards Elena when she shuffles over, pointing a finger at the ground. ]
If ya ask me, it's all one big conspiracy. Rustlin' up all us kids together, yo, trainin' us used to gettin' beat up for the outside world, huh? It's like prison guards. I'm, uh. I'm Jesse.
THE GREATEST BASKET y/y
[ She'd never connect the dots, honestly. The closest she's ever comes to dealing with drugs is her little brother smoking pot in the woods when he should be in class, and that's it. Her life is a very different one, it has to be said.
But it stopped feeling like her life right about the time that her parents died and everyone knew her as that girl, the one who disappeared for six months because of the tragedy that almost everyone heard about, and it's exhausting. It's not like she doesn't hear those whispers that abruptly stop when she walks by, or see those meaningful glances that people give their friends when they see her. It's no wonder she'd rather talk to this Jesse kid than any of the friends she does have. All of her old friends treat her like she's glass, or some rare freakshow. No wonder the stranger is infinitely preferable. ]
Pretty sure I read that book. [ She grins a little as she nods, moves the ankle carefully so she can adjust to actually face his direction. ] I guess we can live comfortably in the knowledge that the real world is going to kick our ass then, I guess?
yyyyyyy keeps you in it forever
[ He knows her, he realizes. He does know her, vaguely, and not just from seeing her in the halls. Elena, she's the one with the- With the- Something happened. Someone died? He's pretty sure that was it, it was- Yeah, it was her parents. It was the talk of the school for an awful long time, but he'd never really known her personally, couldn't really bring himself to care - really didn't care enough to listen to the gossip about it, because it really wasn't anyone else's fucking business - but now she's here and sitting in front of him and it makes him give a bit of pause, tilts his head and rubs his hand against the back of his neck as he regards her. ]
[ It's not like he's going to bring it up or anything. It's just something to remember, a piece of the puzzle here to keep in mind or something. ]
Uh, yeah. Pretty sure it's already gettin' a head start on us. We are already entrenched in the shit. [ And this is just the beginning. Feels like the end of the world now, but he's sixteen and everything feels like the end of the world when you're that age. He nods at her ankle as she adjusts it, peers back up at her with a cocked eyebrow. ] What'd ya do?
basket fort aw yiss
[ Because all laughing and joking aside, it's kind of true. Kids are all kind of twisted and high schoolers are the worst, and it's never interesting enough until someone's gotten hurt. She's never really thought about it too much - hell, until recently she was almost one and the same, but it's kind of sick, really.
And it's kind of really not what she wants to be dwelling on while being benched, in the middle of sports class while talking to some guy in her year, so she just nods her head. Entrenched pretty much sums it up, but she can't really agree without making herself that girl to him too. Instead, she just glazes over the comment with a murmured noise of agreement, and glances down at her foot as he looks. ]
Souvenir from the war. [ She gives a half hearted shrug, carefully trying to move her foot. ] Stopped paying attention, makes you the perfect target. Might be bruised but it's not enough to get me out of any classes. Should've fallen harder.
no subject
[ Whatever, minute blows to his ego. People do talk and kids especially talk and he's more than used to it by now - or maybe he should be more than used to it by now, but it doesn't make it twinge any less when he hears half the shit about him behind his back. He's Jesse Pinkman, after all, and he's the man in some certain social circles, but in the other ones he's just the small-time drug dealer who needs to start wearing clothes that fit him properly instead of jeans falling down over his ass. ]
[ He glances her over as she cracks her joke, nose a little wrinkled like he doesn't really get it at first. It's kinda cute, he guesses, and he shrugs a shoulder. ] Next time just go all out, yo. Break your leg, yanno? Make 'em feel real bad and ya get all the sympathy. [ He reaches out with a hand, touches the back of it in regard against her arm to get her attention. ] Maybe even sue their punk asses, huh?
no subject
[ Oh so diplomatic.
She wouldn't have given him more than a glance before. Cheerleader, popular, it was just one of those things. She did the rumor spreading, she didn't associate with the victims. Life has a way of rewiring your view on things though, and these days she's on the receiving end more often than not anyway. Almost could be considered karma really, if it wasn't so cruel.
A shrug's better than nothing though, he's not laughing at her. ...Not with her either but that's okay, she can work on that. ] Is that how it's done, huh? Maybe you're right.
[ She leans forward a little, puts a little pressure on that foot almost like she's testing it out, then glances at the teacher carefully before turning. ] Do you want to just...go? Out of here, I mean. If we're just going to sit here I'd rather do it in the sun. I doubt he'll even notice.
[ Little Elena Gilbert, cutting class, all grown up. ]
no subject
[ Her suggestion makes him give pause, though, as he glances at the teacher right suit and then rolls his head back over to her. His other eyebrow raises with the first one, incredulously. ] You, uh. [ He smirks uncertainly, swipes a thumb against the side of his nose. ] You wanna cut class. [ Elena Gilbert. Popular girl and star pupil and all that jack shit. ] With me.
[ It's more of a question than anything, and the bit of a shit-eating grin stays hovering on his face, almost impressed. He points to her ankle again. ] Yo, can you even walk on that?
no subject
[ Maybe it really is just because she's bored. Maybe it's because she's sick of trying to fit back into quote unquote Elena Gilbert's cookie cutter life. Maybe this is her pot in the woods after class. She's not about to start scrutinising it. She just wants to duck out of a boring class, and a little company would be nice too. It's no big deal. ]
Yeah, come on. Not chicken, are you? [ She raises her eyebrows right back at him, even laughs a little as she meets his look with a pretty bright smile of her own. ] Walk might be a bit of a stretch, but I can limp fast enough to get out of here, if you'll play crutch for like, a minute once we're out?
no subject
[ But she seems sincere. And who's he to stop someone from their own little slice of rebellion? ] Whatever.
[ It's passively, and he stands up and brushes himself off, musses a hand through his hair so it's sticking up at a few more odd angles than it was before. Her smile's nice - it's infectious - and he offers her a shoulder to lean onto once they're both standing. Better cover anyway. The teacher sees them making their way towards the door, after all, and Jesse just jerks a thumb thataways, shakes his head and rolls his eyes. ]
She's gotta piss, [ he calls out, like it's a big trifle, and then turns back to her with a jerk of his head in the same direction. ] C'mon.
no subject
It lasts as she carefully limps next to him, leaning a little heavier than she'd really expected to need to. It's not even the pain so much as the swelling, it's just awkward and hard to find a way around it. The grin actually lasts right up until he calls out very loudly, at which point it just gets replaced with a laugh and a hand covering her face. Is she blushing? She could well be blushing. ]
Subtlety, huh? Good thinking. [ It's sarcastic, but she's not mad. It's actually pretty funny, and besides, with a few more limps they've escaped anyway, so what does it matter. ] Now...what do people even do when they skip class?
no subject
[ It's easy for him to not sound entirely proud or impressed with his own lie because, well, he does it all the time; it was just a little on the spot thing that he threw out there out of habit and here they were, making their way outside and towards the door that leads out of the school. ]
[ She's leaning on him and that's okay, kind of makes him glance at her every once in a while a bit incredulously, like he can't believe that Elena Gilbert is actually skipping class with him right now. ]
Uh. [ What do people do when they cut class? ] Smoke? [ Get high. ] Check out a movie, [ get high, ] go to Taco Cabeza, [ get high, ] I don't know.
[ Yeah, mostly he just does the one thing whenever he's out of there. ]
no subject
Well smoking's scratched, too many firsts for one day, don't you think? [ She laughs a little as she tilts her head, weighing up his suggestions a little for a moment before tapping her chin lightly with a finger, then pointing it at him. ]
Movies and Taco Cabeza are both pretty boring alone, just to make an observation. If I was going to do one or the other it'd be better with company.
no subject
[ And he just stops walking for a moment - they're already out of the building, making their way into the parking lot, and, no, he just has to stop for a second, just for a second. Maybe two. Because she's holding onto his arm and she's skipping class with him and now she's doing this. ]
[ Is she asking him on a date? Him. Like, him. It's not like he's complaining or anything, like fuck is he going to complain about that - he means, she's smokin' hot - but him. ]
What- [ And he laughs a little, looks up and away and then back at her, curiously. ] What're you doin' right now?
no subject
So maybe it's a little bit of a date. And she's on the spot a little bit and she hasn't done anything like this in a while, not since good guy, all american Matt and there was no guess work there. She knew what answer she was going to get before she'd even thought of the question. She's got no idea with Jesse, not even a little bit, and it makes her a little nervous. She ducks her head slightly, glancing at the ground for a moment and when she looks back up she's got a much softer smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. ]
Dinner and a movie and you're asking me what I'm doing? [ it's meant to come off confident, because she's normally so good at that, but the nerves show through and it's softer than she meant and definitely a lot more hesitant, and she just looks back at him. The confidence got lost in the mix and she's just left a little hopeful and a whole lot more nervous. ]
no subject
[ He scratches a wary thumb at the side of his nose before he breaks out into a confident grin, even goes so far as to smoothly start to sling his arm around her shoulders and start to lead her towards his car in the lot. Yeah. He's all about that.]
Ya got any kinda movies you're real into?
no subject
...Okay, you'll probably think it's dumb, but lately I've basically had action movie cravings? Like, I'm talking dumb, no plot, explosions, Bruce Willis type deal, you know? Not always my thing, but sometimes it strikes.
[ Hardly her modus operandi, but it is true! And only like....five per cent a ploy to see if he's interested in that. Maybe ten per cent, but definitely no more than that. ]
no subject
[ He plays with his keys in his jeans pocket once they approach his car - and sure, he's still high, but it's not like he doesn't have practice driving while he is. ] Important question, though. [ He pauses to open the passenger side door and give a mock bow, wetting his lips a little proudly as he looks up at her. ] After you. [ Once she's situated in the car and he clambers into his own side, he plugs the keys in the ignition and raises his eyebrows. ] So, the question. Tacos first or movies?
no subject
And when he opens the door - and oh, god that little bow - she damn near beams as she drops down into the seat. It's dumb, but the gesture is still totally sweet. Definitely surprising, that much is certain. ] Is that even a question? You have to have the tacos first, it's like an unwritten rule.
[ As the engine starts she shifts around in her seat to glance out of the back window, raising her eyebrows before looking back to Jesse. Look, it's her first time, it's kind of exciting. ] So we just, drive out? Just drive, it's that easy?
