First there's the very talented Ms. Nyota Uhura from the Star Trek: Reboot. polyglot. I've only got to briefly thread with her so far but she's fantastic! Definitely gives my Spock the impression that she's the embodiment of her character 8)

Also these two: slapdash and diditin3.

Both play Captain Kirk and very differently at that. Even with the difference in writing style I am thoroughly enjoying the character development so far with diditin3. It's worth noting they can actually match my tl;dr xD because Spock tends to do that a lot. :) I always appreciate a good sport about peril and doom plots. Yay for almost blowing up the Enterprise. Again. LOL

Now slapdash on the other hand is a sassy motherfucker and I LOVE IT! :P Spock and Kirk could go back and forth pretty much forever and it's always a joy to read. :) Definitely appreciating the softer side of Kirk this Mun is playing up on in the the First Date meme.

So playing Erik, it is like the Holy Grail of RP to snag a good Charles. This has happened to me not once, or twice, but three fantastic times.

mentis: You might have some idea of this already, given that I tend to sit in your tagging plurks going I love himmmm how is he so cuuuuuuute after every single tag, but let me astonish you: I love your Charles. You are so careful to make sure he's fallible and desperately human, trying to be Professor X, but not quite there yet. He's charming, funny, and exactly the right amount of derp. (Charles, every time you say groovy, a fairy dies. jsyk.) His banter with Erik is perfect, and every time I see him defend Erik to someone who knows him as Magneto my heart makes happy grabby hands at the screen.

Then you let him mess up, too, sometimes with incredibly pervasive consequences; you are not shy at all about the realism of the choices that he makes, and that kind of fearlessness is something to really be treasured in RP.

On top of which, because none of that was enough, you have actually made me cry laughing before, you're good to me when I'm miserable, and you have the biggest, gentlest heart JUST LIKE CHARLES you see what I did there. I am so, so happy to have met you. Someday you will live in a blanket fort with me and Gene and ton of cats and everything will be good.

variorum: Ahhh god. As you know I was really, really leery of a modern AU for reasons, but I am so glad we're doing this anyway. Definitely different versions of these dudes, but still so much themselves. Politically, philosophically, personally, I've wanted to write about the issues we're exploring since I got into RP, and I couldn't have asked for a person I trust more to share that with me. The tiniest!Charles is so lovely I sometimes make totally inhuman seal noises and paw and the screen, and also sometimes writhe around in lust. You know, as you do.

And while we're here let's talk about River, shall we? (Why it, it pertains to Erik.) I have never seen this show, only a little of the movie, but God her speech is absolutely beautiful. She's like a magical dancing nymph of ...horrifying history and inflicted violence, and you know exactly how to bring out one without forgetting the other is there. I can feel the weight that informs her in every tag. Her CR with Erik has made me cry before, and I have absolutely no doubt that it will again. SHE MADE THE CHESS THING TOTALLY IC, and it was great. I can't wait for her relationship with Hal to develop because everything we have done from our end-of-the-world OCs forward has been gold. I love you. <3

mentalisolate: You. Just. A thousand giddy, incomprehensible swear words go here. Where did this even come from, how did this happen--oh right, I bombarded you constantly with Erik for six months until you picked up Charles out of self-defense.

No really though. Here's the thing. You are taking on an unbelievable challenge by playing Charles post film. He's older, he's a little wiser and sadder, and he's had to deal with this great adjustment to literally every facet of his life. The time and care you take to make sure that rings true, to be as accurate and sensitive as possible, just--I applaud you, you are absolutely amazing. I am so glad you were interested in writing What Happens After even (or because???) I spent all of yesterday weeping like a child as a result. I love that you love to talk analysis with me, that you not only tolerate but get excited about the same tiny things I do. Every time I think of something new the first thing I want to do is show it to you.

Added to that you've been there for me through an incredibly tough time this winter when I was busy being a crazy sad person--you are a loving and empathetic friend, and I am just thrilled to have you in my life. So basically I will never take my shark teeth out of you. Ever.

Since I'm an expert on PD now I can say that Ned's speech patterns are flawless, his issues perfectly layered and sensitively engaged, his love of pies not even a remote exaggeration. He is wonderful, and so are you. Honestly, if I could have picked the one person Kore who was going to end up as Erik's Raven analogue it would n...ot in a million years have been Ned, but there it is, and I was missing that my whole life too. Our conversations are fun and funny even when they're wrenching, you have the same peerless taste as me, and I just. Cannot believe I've only known you for like a month. I can't wait to spend time together IRL.

dowhatisays: YOU SPLENDID MINX. We've played enough characters together that really, I'm listing Charlie's name kind of arbitrarily because it goes with Meyer's and I have greatly enjoyed them all. Bobby is such a lovingly realistic depiction of a ten year old, and as we have discussed that's n...ot all that common. You choose these fascinating obscure characters and make me love them effortlessly, you're talented and funny, politically and personally informed without being overbearing, and lbr you are totally hot. That helps, I'm shallow.

Oh, but I'm not done. You're also absolutely one of the best friends a person could ask for. You extend so much of yourself even when it isn't easy, and I have appreciated that more than I've maybe ever expressed. Keep being you or I will come to your house and throw pies at you.

selfrespecting At this point, I think I've played more with Martha than Cas, though I think you do both some serious justice. Martha's not an easy character and you write her so well and with just the right balance of being exceptionally clever without making her overpoweringly or unrealistically smart. You are also an awesome person, who I love interacting with.

thezerothlaw Jessie, you take some really obscure characters and bring them to life like no one else. They're fun and interesting to play with and it's clear how much thought and effort you put into them. Daneel and Wallie are both so great.

servingmichael Not only is Raphael really great to play off of, but you bring players in this fandom together so much. You've really helped to make it feel more like a little community and it's wonderful and for that, you deserve all of the love.

tryingitall I know I've told you this before, but I love the way that you've fleshed out Balthazar and his motivations. He's so wonderful and I love seeing how you look at why he's said and done things. I also think his voice is spot on. Not only has he been great to play Castiel off of, but I'm really enjoying playing Crowley with him, too. He's just a joy, as are you.

nevermindtherunning I legit don't know how you do it. The Doctor is such a complex fucking character and you nail it. I don't know what else I can really say. I enjoy DW so much and I've thought about picking up characters from it and every time I've looked at The Doctor, I've recoiled in fear and you just get him so well.


To anyone else at cape_kore, you are the best group of players a mod could ask for. As a group, you're honest and understanding and you're all such great writers and great people and I hope we can all keep playing together for a long time.

monsterbait, you're a fantastic Sam. The best. Besides being an amazing writer in general, you capture his voice so perfectly and you are always a breeze to respond to. I seriously get giddy when I have Sam tags from you. Every time.

arighteousman, ditto about your Dean. He's such a faceted character, and you know exactly how to write him so that he's balanced and layered and fascinating to stalk. I know things have been rough for you, lately, but you do a gorgeous job with him. Never doubt it.

rebellious. Just....Cas. Baby. I don't know how you make him so utterly badass and utterly adorable at the same time. Just admit it. You actually write for the show.

shotgunning. Last, but not at all least. Jo did not get enough time in the show, and it's wonderful to see her here...not only to have a chance to play off of her, but to see her portrayed so well. Her dynamic with the brothers is wonderful to read, and you have her voice down pat.

This game has been my home for a year and a half now, and I still love it as much as I did when the game first opened, thanks to the playerbase. unhappymeal deserves a lot of praise and thanks for running the game for so long, and the new mods (nukeoleptic, pratentious, & tipsygnostalgia) also deserve recognition for taking over and keeping the game going. In particular, I wanted to mention the NPCs and my fellow players who are doing their best to contribute to the game through these characters.

Merlin cast:
pratentious, surprising, verybigpheasants, sworntovalor, burping, childofthewickedday, veneficus, sleeveless, ealdorsprince, & foodshortage. First of all, do you know how ridiculous it is that I even have to check the taken list to make sure I got all of you guys? When I started RPing here last year, I never imagined that I'd ever get a cast this large or that all of you would be be so wonderful and talented. Not only have I had amazing threads with each and every one of you, but I'm getting to RP out such a variety of situations with castmates I can trust. Thank you. Seriously. I could not ask for a better cast.

Hunger Games cast:
empowers, brokennotmad, bornarebel, unfalteringly, & tradingsecrets. I'll be honest and say that I never thought Rue would last this long in a game, because I've never played a character this young before and she isn't as fleshed out in her canon as my other characters. Yet she's still here after a year and some, and that's all thanks to you guys. You've made it easy for Rue to build up a rapport with the other Panem characters, and helped me fill in the details when the canon left them blank.

entranceway
I haven't been in this game long, but everyone has been welcoming and wonderful to RP with so far! The players have such an infectious enthusiasm for the things going on that it's hard not to get excited, too. Never have I been happier to be surprise!enabled to a game like this. It's been pleasing to see the game grow in size so quickly recently, too. The characters here are well-written, and definitely deserve some castmates!

Wow, where do I even start? Ever since I saw the concept for this game, I've been crossing my fingers and hoping for this AU to pull through. I'm so glad that it has. I'm already have a lot of fun here, and everyone is so open to cross-canon CR (both pre-game and completely new) that it makes integrating into the playerbase a lot easier than I could have hoped. Keep on rocking, guys.

I'm not RPing here any longer, but I couldn't skip over some of the lovely people in this game. The first being whatsupcroc, who not only is a wonderful mod with a great sense of humour, but also a player who was warm and welcoming since day one. Then there's velveteened, onlyasong, cashcow, ganking, & bikininspector for giving me some of my favourite cross-canon CR and making their threads fun and engaging. I also want to mention inafadingcrown, who can take a complex character like Galadriel from an even more complex canon, and do such a wonderful job portraying her while being so receptive to new CR. One of the saddest things about dropping was that I didn't have enough chances to RP with her. Last, but not least, the Merlin cast. futurarex, graciousness, scinlae are all great at writing their characters, and I'm very glad I had a chance to be part of a cast like this, even for a short while.


holmes_fanatic: This girl really needs more praise than she's been given so far. Not only is she somehow able to take such varied characters (even one like George of the Jungle. Seriously.) and make them work in the game setting some how, but she is one of the most proactive players I have met in DWRP. She isn't afraid to get involved with both player and game plots, and a lot of the time, she is the one who helps these plots along. Lou is incredible, and any game would be lucky to have her.

samantha_grey: One of the things I like most about Latroma is that she knows her character isn't everyone's cup of tea, and takes care to respect other players' boundaries. My threads with her are always interesting and engaging, not to mention she is very easy to plot things with as well. She is also one of the most proactive characters in Asgard, and makes a point to include both existing cr and new cr in her player plots.

hollowchild & daddyissues: The two of them are always eager to thread and make plans with other players (including me). They keep their characters engaging and different, with the added bonus of being unafraid to let their characters get in the thick of things. Both are pretty proactive from what I've seen, which is also nice.

snugglesjugs: It's very difficult to get a player-run organisation off the ground, and even harder to keep it afloat. The player's work with her character has brought about something that's caught on with the players and adds onto the game. On top of that, she's also very approachable when it comes to plotting.

freezerburned: Have started threading with this player more recently, and I have to say she is very good at writing her characters (Isaac being particularly delightful to interact with). She consistently tags out and has been very enthusiastic about getting involved with the game's plot. Personally, I'm happy to see someone like her picking up one of Asgard's NPCs!

ripstides & oikodomae: These two make a great team as Percy and Annabeth. Their threads, whether it's with each other or with other characters, make for good reads (and I happily followed their Ataraxion threads whenever I could). Unsurprisingly, their RPing is what convinced me to read the Percy Jackson series in the first place!

mostqualified: Excellent Pepper who has lovely writing and is easy to make CR with. What I particularly like about her is that while she has very close relations to Tony in-game, she also branches out on her own, as well. It doesn't feel like you need to push the CR if you aren't talking about Tony, but on the other side of that, she also smooths the way for interaction with Tony. Basically she achieves a great balance between work and play.

tsundaga: Has given me some of my favourite CR in the games we were in together! She's very friendly when you talk to her about potential plots, and she does a lovely job of writing different types of characters. I'm always excited when I have a reason to approach her about an idea.

snacklist & unerring: Very in character and proactive, need I say more? Even before I actually had a thread with either of them, I could see how involved they were getting with the game's plot. Both very friendly, and I really appreciate the way they make sure they can fairly include different people in the things that they plan (like the raid).

abidan: Wonderfully witty and friendly, with some of the loveliest prose I've encountered in rp. I haven't had any difficulties bouncing ideas off of her so far, and it's also refreshing to see someone being frank about what they like and don't like. That all aside, I appreciate her willingness to get involved in longer story arcs. I know if I plan a development-heavy character arc with her, she won't lose interest right away and will carry through with it--that's very reassuring when it comes to a close castmate!

elfstoned: I think she's surprised quite a few laughs out of me in the couple months we've been in-game together. She's very clever, and I can definitely appreciate the depth of knowledge she has for the Tolkien-verse. RP-wise, she isn't afraid to showcase her characters' less pleasant sides, and I think that makes for interesting threads and CR.

angelskills: We haven't even talked much on plurk yet, but I can already tell she's very easy to get along with. I was surprised by how easily we were able to coordinate our characters' au histories for Save the Earth, and that ease partially came from the player's willingness to meet you halfway. This will be my first time writing cross-canon family CR, and I can't think of a better person to try it with!

11ady & northless: Two more lovely players I've had the pleasure of meeting through Save the Earth. They both do a great job of writing their characters, and I haven't had a problem plotting things out with them yet. They've also approached me with some ideas once our characters had a chance to interact! With the two of them, you can really get the sense that you'll be in for some long-term CR.

no_eels: My obvious bias as a Hiccup player aside, I think she does an absolutely fantastic job of portraying Toothless. Writing a speech-less, non-human character like Toothless is a lot more difficult than most people would think. It takes a lot of talent to keep threads engaging when you're writing a character like that, but this player makes it look so easy, while getting strong cross-canon CR in a few months. Needless to say, I am very pleased to have someone like her as a castmate.

freetobe: Haven't had too many threads with her yet, but I wanted to give her a mention because I think it's pretty incredible how dedicated she is to the game. She was one of the first to welcome me to the game (after shamelessly enabling me, but details), and I find it very easy to get involved in any plots she starts with her characters. On the ooc side of things, her willingness to plan game-related streaming parties and to help others find potential castmates on ATP shows a dedication that few players have.

chittybang: Overall, just a very solid and talented writer. I've threaded with her Legend of Korra characters (Asami, Mako, Tahno), and she nails all three of them with ease. Her ability to write such different characters and her approachability for CR makes her a player I would definitely recommend to others.

redhourglass: Last, but not least! While I do like the way she writes Hermione, I mostly wanted to give her some praise for her portrayal of Natasha. I really like the way that she doesn't focus on the character's femininity unless it's to the character's advantage. It's also very nice to see Natasha doing her own thing subtly with or without castmates around. Not to mention, this player is open to a lot of plot ideas, and really friendly to boot!
