A voice test meme

Always wanted to try your hand at that complex character, but were always uncertain? Have a pup who's still wet behind the ears? A muse just shaking off the dust from sitting in a corner for too long? Well here is the opportunity for you. Just leave a comment with your character's name and canon, as well as any information you deem relevant.
Whether you want to start the thread, or let subsequent taggers choose is up to you. Use the Plot scenario generator if you want a little push.
Bilbo Baggins | THE HOBBIT (let's go with pre-adventure for CR?)
TIME TRAVEL SHENNAGINS. HAVE SOME.
..Bilbo?
[This can't be right, not at all, but Frodo gets up, book dangling in his hands as he goes to have a look]
Hullo!
snaaap
In other words, Bilbo is both impressed and then baffled after the fact, as it sinks in the hobbit knows his name]
Good morning! [Cue Bilbo trying to (politely) jog his memory on Strange Hobbits Who Know You problem] Wonderful morning, I'd say!
[When in doubt, talk about the weather]
your icon is so adorable
Good morning!
[Does Bilbo recognize him? Given that Bilbo's resorting to one of his tried and true reactions when confronted with one of many relatives whose names he's misplaced...]
Frodo Baggins, at your service. May I join you for a bit?
Good, because I'm running out of icons already :(
Baggins? Of course -- [It's Baggins instinct to invite Mr. Frodo Baggins, even while he's trying to puzzle out if he's seen him at any of the festivals] Here, let me, that's all right, I've got it - !
[He tries to look more busy than he is with his own blanket on the riverbank]
Can't say I've heard of a Frodo on the Baggins side. Have you been...traveling?
[Yes, Bilbo says the word like it's extremely tiring]
no subject
[Frodo ends up helping Bilbo set up his own blanket too out of habit, then he's settled down on his own. How to explain this? Perhaps Frodo's dreaming, this must be Bilbo before the Adventure. Going from the way his uncle's face soured at the idea of traveling]
I came to Hobbiton from Buckland. I suppose you could say that was a little adventure in itself.
[this hobbit on the other hand, says adventure as if it's something well, exciting! Even a small one over the Brandywine.]
no subject
Buckland! Odd place, from what I hear. Is it true they lock their front doors?
["Traveling" and "adventure" are two words he could go the morning without, but Bilbo soldiers on. It's not every day you meet a long-lost relative who passed through Buckland]
no subject
Well...yes, sometimes. Not often. We are closer to Bree.
[Frodo will soldier on himself. Slightly defensively]
It's a beautiful place. You should visit sometime.
no subject
Me! Oh, well, I suppose maybe one day. [It’s so polite that you could probably touch it, that’s how hobbit-polite Bilbo is being right now to this equally odd Baggins. “Beautiful” and “locked doors”, plus all the other things he’s heard about Buckland, isn’t making him anymore keen to the idea of Adventure] So what brings you out here, Frodo?
no subject
They would love to have guests, I think. They throw an excellent party, an excellent party dinner, and an even better post-party meal.
[Frodo offers Bilbo the cover of the book so he can see what he's reading, if he finds himself interested]
It felt like a lovely day for a good book and fresh air. This isn't one of your normal spots, is it?
[Feeling....adventurous even, Bilbo?]
no subject
I'm sure they would! Maybe in the future!
[Bilbo leans over to inspect Frodo's book - despite it all, he has a perfectly good taste in literature, the scrawl on the cover reading A Blue and A Green Robin - The Expanded Short Stories. One of his favorite books!]
Well, no. [Bilbo sounds like the hobbit lad with his hand caught in the sweets.] But I noticed walking past for awhile that it has some wonderful shade and it appears I was right!
no subject
I'll be sure to let them know to expect you the next time I'm at Brandy Hall.
[Frodo smiles at the look on Bilbo's face and the approval. And then the guilty look on Bilbo's face.]
Oh, it certainly has some wonderful shade. But I noticed the tree over there provides better shade, however, this spot has the best view.
no subject
Thank you! ...When would they probably be expecting me? [Bilbo's voice rises slightly, in that way people's do when they're not really thankful because now he'll have to go, now that he's somehow been invited all of a sudden! How did this even happen? Bilbo swivels to follow where Frodo is pointing, squinting slightly] Ah! Yes, you're right. Quite right. They're both perfectly good, though - you don't need a trip across the Brandywine to get to a place like this!
[This is Bilbo's Try to Salvage Some Normalcy Mode]

[Frodo falls silent for a second, because his home is in Bag End, not Brandy Hall. What does he do now? Go back? Stay? Wander? Frodo is not sure he wants to think about it too heavily at the moment. He instead digs out a pipe and some Old Toby, and offers some to Bilbo first]
Well, no. There's no place like the Shire found anywhere and never will be. But don't you sometimes want to see mountains? Oceans?
[The hobbit has lowered his voice conspiratorially, ever since he heard Bilbo's adventures as a wee thing, he'd always wanted to take a peek outside the Shire]
no subject
Thank you! [It's much appreciated, Bilbo soon chewing on the end of his pipe absently and blowing smoke rings, half to think, half because he can't resist a little show-off to this strange Baggins in his reading spot] Me? Mountains? Oceans!
[A startled laugh]
Not my sort of thing, I'm afraid! Ocean are fine in the stories and all, but in real life, well - nothing like a river closer to home. [Bilbo hastily changes the subject before Frodo can go on] Since we're relatives, I suppose we ought to catch up. Do you have a place to stay for the night?
no subject
Well, yes. They're so mysterious and vast. Even a little sad.
[My goodness Bilbo, you really did change a lot after the adventure! Frodo's face brightens at the invitation. He'd been preparing himself to camp out across Hobbiton as he made his way to Buckland, for lack of a better plan]
I would like that. I was going to make my way to Buckland, so no, I don't.
no subject
double-edged swordtwo way street, Frodo!]Then it's settled! You can have tea and dinners at Bag End, and we can catch up. No need to hurry back to Buckland when you've just arrived! [As for mysterious and sad - he rather likes his rivers comfortable and babbling, so mysterious and sad just strikes an odd, vaguely uncomfortable chord in him] Probably need to stop at the market, I haven't had a guest in awhile, you see!
[Bilbo is about to go in full Hobbit Mother Hen Mode - that is, he has a guest and he'll be a very very very good host, no matter how odd that guest is because it's just hobbit duty. And that's that. Besides (and he won't admit this time himself), all this horrid talk about Buckland and adventures is so distracting that he hasn't read a page of his book or even glanced at all the comforting scenery of home.]
