Thor and co you are all adorable

Impressive. A ten out of ten for firmness and muscle. The same for your upper body.
mybroisadopted: (smile bright happy)

*bows* Thank you!

[Big grin, giving a flex of his arms.] I work hard to be able to wield Mjolnir effectively, thank you! I'm afraid we've not met before, you are...? [Offering a strong hand to shake.]

( Let it be known he is suitably impressed meeting a real Norse god. He shakes the proffered hand, and- wow, he feels like a stick next to Thor. )

Shogo Makishima. And you are Thor, god of thunder and lightning, unless I am mistaken?

Indeed I am! You seem a knowledgable fellow! [He gives a firm handshake without the crushing game.] where do you hail from, Makishima?

( He's pleased with the compliment; enough to smile a little more. )

Japan. A country to the east, if you have seen Midgardian maps before.

It is not a place I know, but I am learning more of Midgard each day. This world is far larger than my own! Tell me of your land.

( Hm, there is a lot that he can say about his country, possibly 90% of which will pass right over Thor's head. He can't imagine a god is well acquainted with technology, or would care about the workings of its present society (which is what interests Shougo the most). After a little thought, he settles with this: )

It is a beautiful place, lacking in crime and other depravities. The people are pleasant, mostly, and polite. Before we developed a means to mass-produce a standard foodstuff, the world knew us for sushi, sashimi, and ramen, amongst other things. I am not sure how Japan is considered now, since it has closed its borders to all visitors, but in any case you will not see much of its traditional culture any more.

( He comes from a futuristic, dystopian Japan, so Thor can still experience all these wonderful things in his own time. )

[Thor thinks this all over, rubbing his chin slowly.] It seems a beautiful place, but will an animal in a cage, even if given what it requires to live, not suffer and grow twisted if left forever in its cage? It seems a sad thing that your Japan is closed away from visitors as I would like I see such a place. [He wouldn't know Japan is currently open.]

( That was, a wonderful analogy. Your esteem in Shougo's eyes has just risen a notch, Thor. )

It's true, the current closed-off society restricts the ability of its people to think or imagine anything outside of their mundane lives. But this barrier only applies to mortal humans - immigrants and the like. I'm sure a god like you can enter and leave any city or country you please.

I would not wish to start a fight against mortal men should they chose to take my entrance unkindly. However, from what I am seeing among the Midgardians, 'god' is a very strange term used for a large variety of things. I have heard Captain Rogers speak of 'god' but say I am not one, yet we were revered as such and still are by many.

A god is, to human beings, an immortal being who wields powers that normal humans cannot. Powers that aren't obtained through genetic modification, or through technological means.

...I assume you are immortal?

( Because Shougo carries a cut-throat razor with him at all times and thinks it would be interesting to test this 'immortality' out. Only problem is the threat of getting fried by electricity, or flattened by that hammer. )
