Building up new CR can be hard, especially if you're unsure who's interested, or if you're just a little bit shy. Behold a meme designed specifically to get around that.

THE TAG (THREE) NEW PEOPLE MEME

Step One - Post your character, include a prompt if you want, and note your preferences for the random generator part of the meme. Note this meme is designed for any new CR, so while limiting certain aspects of the meme (no to certain prompts, only certain types for sex/shipping, etc) there should be no "canons/ocs/girls/boys only"!

Step Two - Go back three tags above you. If you've never tagged the character you land on, and they have no existing tags on their thread, roll up a prompt and tag them with it. Continue and do this two more times. If you hit the end of the meme, loop back around. If you get caught in an infinite loop, either wait for a new tag-in, or go by every other comment instead.

Step Three - If you can't find someone who hasn't been tagged and you haven't played with, it's fine to tag someone who has been. If you can and you still want to tag a tagged person, go ahead, just don't count it to your three.

Step Four - If you want to, you don't have to stop at just three. Keep looping (or come back later when others have tagged in) as often as you like!

④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑥ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

⑰ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑱ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑲ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑳ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.

ANGST.
① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.
③ Depression → Your character is depressed, what actions they take is up to the mun.
④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?
⑤ Tortured → Your character is being tortured and needs rescuing or at least a sympathetic ear to help him through it.
⑥ Jealousy → Your character is feeling jealous and must deal with it, how will they do it?
⑦ Breakup! → This relationship has gone as far as it can, it's time to breakup.
⑧ Broken → For whatever reason, the character is broken, mentally or or physically.

⑩ Lost → You lost the biggest fight of your life and now all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.
⑪ Worst nightmare → Whatever you fear the most is now real or maybe you're just trapped in a dream together, but whatever it is, it feels too real.
⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.
⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.

⑰ To the future → Is it everything you've dreamed? Is it horrible? Whatever happens, you're here to witness what happens to you in the future. Either you take the place of your future self or you're just there to watch. Might cause some confusion if people start seeing double though...

⑲ Locked in a closet → For some reason, you're locked up in a closet with someone else. Do you make nice and try to figure your way out or what?

((It's cool; I've never watched Boardwalk myself--though I heard good things--so we're on the same uneven, potentially entertaining ground. Let's see how much wiki my knowledge of the 20's helps me out~))


[Sometimes one has to get in bed with men of dubious nature to get any business done. And Silva sometimes takes that idea far too literally. But ah well, he can't complain. If he wants to get some small foothold in Atlantic City, he has to appease anyone at the top. What happens to them after he's gotten in, well, that's another story entirely...

But not an appropriate conversation for the moment. He takes a pull from his cigar, languidly letting the smoke go in a long breath, and smiles easily.]

You strike me as a man who is long overdue for a vacation. Busy with this, busy with that, yes, I understand, but you mustn't forget the simpler, more relaxing things in life. Better for your health, hm?

[Rothstein rarely indulges in sexual excursions while away from New York. It is always safest in one's home town, where silence is easier to ascertain and the safest venues are well-known. And it is rarer still for Rothstein to engage in relations with another man. Still, some days are made to be exceptions.

The venture has been borderline foolery. Arnold knows precious little of this man, cannot even read him with certainty; there is a distance in his expressions that culls a mixture of delight and concern. That inaccessibility had been part of the initial attraction, the draw that few men or women hold for Arnold. And it has been an agreeable experience thus far, providing the relief that Rothstein requires after a particularly trying week. (He isn't in Atlantic City for the pure joy of it, after all; Thompson needs some extra weight and has called in a favor.)

Now, however, the mildest misgivings prod at the back of his mind. It is possible, just slightly possible, that Rothstein has walked himself into a situation of uncertain chance. Who can say what the man might do, to whom he may speak? Reputation is precious, and Rothstein has no intention of acquiring any tarnish. Should the man prove to be a liability... It wouldn't be Rothstein's preference to silence him, but the option stands.

And who would be foolish enough to cross Arnold Rothstein? If this man harbors reasonable desires, Arnold is willing enough to lend his connections. The man is quick of mind, after all, undeniably resourceful, the sort who should be brought into business. So long as he offers no threat, he will likely receive his wish. If he veers toward threat, he won't live long enough to make another wish.

Nothing to worry about.

And as soon as Arnold turns his attention back to the man, he concerns are muted. That smile. Smooth and stunning. And what does it mean? Rothstein only knows that it overwhelms something within his own self, reaching a place beyond his typically pervasive coolness.]

This from the man who smokes in bed. [A slight smirk as he places a hand on the man's forearm, brushing his fingers up, down, up along the skin.]

I find that what men call relaxation is too often a bore. Mental stimulation maintains my health. Besides, this has been a pleasant little vacation in its own right.

[He gives a rich laugh and shrugs.] A good point, but I promise I've done things in my life that are potentially more harmful to my health. I can at least promise I am not chronic about this. I felt it was appropriate for a good day, hm?

[Silva knows it's a gamble, but he's picked up many tricks over many years. Using sex to seal a deal or as a weapon or as a way to get information, nothing wrong with that. Not just a woman's ways, after all. He's not an idiot; crossing the likes of Rothstein so quickly would be suicide. Have to start from the bottom, when one wants to move into a new location that's already got a hefty claim.

It isn't like he's here to slip a knife between the man's ribs. This is about business--and pleasure. Silva can be as vicious as anyone if he's pushed to it, but he prefers as little bloodshed as possible. They might even become very good business partners; maybe he won't even try to kick Rothstein out. And the man would be an idiot not to see this as a good opportunity that he ought not to just let slide by. They'll just have to see where this (whatever "this" is) goes.

Funny, how he can see the subtle impact he has on Arnold. A reaction he's become more used to. He understands he's a strange sort to be seen in the states; more than once he's been called (behind his back) 'exotic'. It makes business sometimes more difficult (how strange, how shady, immigrant wanting American jobs) and sometimes all the easier (new methods, new ideas, potential deals with other countries). Silva never explains where he's from, far too complicated a story, but he tends to mention he's a child of many countries when asked.

Perhaps it was a draw for the other man. Mysterious? Different? Or maybe just the thrill of sleeping with another man? He shifts, rolling toward his partner and throwing an arm around him, hand stroking along back. Leans in for a little kiss. Offers up the cigar.]

I think many men would call a romp in bed relaxation. Mm, perhaps I've been physically and mentally stimulating for you?

[He waves aside the cigar; not his pleasure, even on such an occasion. The kiss, however, brings a momentary smile, and the stroke of his hand is more pleasant still. Rothstein closes his eyes, permitting himself to simply enjoy the sensation of the man's touch. The sensation of closeness and a power channeled into gentleness. It does--occasionally--feel pleasant to simply be beside someone, thrown out of the sphere of usual relations. Of course Arnold continues to guard his speech and reactions, but the rules in bed are slightly more relaxed.

And it is a comparatively rare experience to meet a man who makes no instant claim to a particular group. In a city, in a country so dominated by allegiance to being Italian, Irish, Jewish, or any number of other such categories, it is almost refreshing. Arnold himself places no such terms, having long since abandoned his family's religion. If he is anything, he is American; more importantly, he is a businessman and a gambler.

And what is this man? How does he define himself, and how does he intend to make a name for himself in this world? Because what Rothstein can see in Silva is ambition; it is the form and accompanying traits that remain unknown.]

You have, indeed. You are a rare breed, Mr. Silva. [A moment as he once more muses over the impossibility of the man. That he should be so shrouded. That he should be here. That his touch could bring such... Yes, call it comfort, or something very like.

Arnold raises a hand to run his finger's through the man's hair, tracing the curve of his skull, his neck. The structure in which is housed such life, formed so firmly in this man.] What am I to make of you?

[Well, might as well set the cigar aside and get both hands free, then, to put upon his partner. To hold him close. His eyes slide shut at the fingers in his hair, giving a light hum of contentment.]

That I'm afraid I cannot answer for you. I hope you make of me, hm...a good time? A partner? A brother in arms? Mm, that seems a bit dramatic of me.

[Identifying with a group he understands. Protection, strength in numbers. But Silva learned the hard way that such loyalties will only lead to a downfall, that in the end, everyone is looking out primarily for themselves. The only way to win is to be on top and not rely too heavily on any one person or people. But that doesn't mean one can be successful on their own, with no help, no allies.]

Do you find me a mystery, Arnold? A puzzle to solve, perhaps, hm?

[Still the man of riddles, the unknown that can touch and be touched. Rothstein would have it no other way. Too many people stand open to the world, their every wish made evident in the flickering of an eye. Raoul Silva offers a more challenging game.]

Every puzzle has a solution. And every man has his desires. The roads toward reaching what he is.

[Arnold had smiled at the man's suggestions; Carolyn is perhaps the closest he has come to having what most would deem a partner, and even she stands largely on the periphery. The men who call themselves his business partners might be more properly termed tools, and as for anyone so close as a brother? He cannot deny that there is some appeal to the idea of such a bond, but any actuality would cost more than its worth, and must necessarily prove unfulfilling.

This momentary closeness suffices, lifting the press of business for just long enough. (Though it lingers in reminders of who he is and what this man may want, what he may decide to give this man, that he cannot fully drift apart from himself. Self-control, control of the situation, remains necessary.) For now he may enjoy the warmth, the pressure, the release of sorts.]

You, dear, are especially, perhaps even fantastically abstruse, but no man is so complex as he believes.

Mm, you are not the first to try and riddle me out. But I don't think myself so complicated. In the end, aren't we all simple men with simple needs?

[Maybe not simple. Straightforward, then. But then, what is it that men want in the end? Money, fame, power, sex? What about below the base desires, what about a singular purpose and need? That, Silva believes, is what drives everyone, whether they realize it or not.

For business, of course, Rothstein will want to know and understand him. It's too big of a gamble to make deals with the unknown, and eventually they'll have to properly sit down and hash out what they want and what they're willing to give in return. But such chatter isn't for bed, with two bodies pressed so close, not with sex still lingering in the air and on their flesh.

Silva presses a few kisses along Rothstein's jaw, starts down his neck before murmuring into skin.]
