The Love Me Meme

the love me meme
updated edition

♫ ♫ ♫ Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think when a snake of a guy gave me an
evil wink. He shook-a me up, he took me by surprise. He had a pickup truck, and the devil's eyes. He stared at me and I felt a change. Time meant nothing, never would again. ♫ ♫ ♫

♥ As the lyric suggests, you see someone and, bam! You love them! Wait, you don't? You don't even know them? Well, now you do! Haha, see what I did there?
♥ Post with your characters, name and fandom in the subject line! Someone else will reply to your character. Then, you go tohttp://www.random.org/ or any other random number generator you'd like, and pop in the numbers 1 to 10.
♥ Match up that number with the appropriate category of love below, and that's how your character now feels about that replier!
♥ Remember, each thread is different! You're rolling each time, for whoever replies to you.
♥ Remember: just because Character A loves Character B doesn't mean Character B loves them back (or is going to be any less creeped out by this sudden change of heart!)

one.
Yandere love. You are obsessed with this person to the point that it is dangerous, unhealthy and absolutely insane; you want them to be with you, you, you, you, and only you, and nothing is going to stand in your way. No one is going to hurt your love - in fact, no one is going to come near your love. And if they say they don't love you? They will. You'll make them. Because you're meant to be together, and you're going to be together, forever and ever and ever. Married married married~

two.
Fairy tale love. You're convinced that this person is your prince or princess! Your true love! The one that you're destined to be with! And they know it too -- at least, they should. You must woo them, court them, try to convince them that you two were meant to dance with fuzzy adorable mascot animals and have a big wedding together! If they don't love you? They must be under a spell from an evil witch, or something! They do say that true love's kiss breaks solves all.

three.
Moe love. It is adorable, and sweet, and innocent. You want to hold hands and exchange chocolates and pretty cards and take long walks on the beach and talk about your future and your kids and aaaaw. It's just like you're in a G-rated Disney movie! You just want your True Love(TM) to be happy, and to know that you love them very much. ;u;

four
School Kid Crush love. You're apt to pass love notes and stalk admire your crush from afar. They're so cool and suave, and you're just little old you... but you just can't seem to stop thinking about them and scribbling their name into your notebook! Nervous, nervous, nervous. Ohhh, they're looking at you. How embarrassing! It's almost like they can tell how you feel about them!

five.
Tsundere love. Of course you love them, but you're way too shy to admit that! Things like that are embarrassing, damn it! You'll yell and flail and hit the love of your life, but it's just because you're not sure how to show that you love them. I mean, you'll still be awfully upset if they try to leave you, or if they don't understand, or they don't want to kiss you... But there's no way you'll say "I love you"!! ... Not unless they say it first, at least. Physical comedy ahoy!

six.
Forbidden love. You yearn for them, but for some reason, you can't be with them! It kills you inside, and just being around them fills you with butterflies. But once... just for tonight, you're willing to throw it all away and be with them! But... what, they don't feel the same way? They're just being shy! It's time for you two to be secret lovers, and it's not possible if they're being stubborn! They shouldn't worry, you won't tell anyone! And you need this. It's scary, yet thrilling, and all they need is a little... persuasion!

seven.
Sexy love. Maybe there's some love hidden deep down somewhere, but that's not the priority here; first thing's first is that man needs to take his clothes off right now. You don't want to talk about your house and your white picket fence and your 2.5 kids; you just want to touch that person now, and you'll think about the rest in the morning. Kissing and contact and maybe a little lovin' are what you want, and nothing is going to stop you. No means yes. For underage characters (and those of us who w-would rather not write sexy things), kisses and flirting are all you need.

eight.
Extreme love. You have to impress the object of your affections, before they're stolen away by some fool! You can do anything when it comes down to showing how much you love this person, even if it means spending all your savings on them, buying nice things that they don't actually need. You're so overcome by your love for them, that's all that matters! You'll definitely win them over with your amazing shows of love and prowess!

nine.
Melodramatic love. This is very important and you know you're rushing things a little but this love was meant to be!! Your love life is suddenly a Shakespearean tragedy, complete with dramatic plot twists and turns, and you need to confess your love to the world before it's too late! There's no time to lose; in the morning, you're going to be exiled, your love is going to be hanged, your mother will be shot, your father will become a pirate and someone will kick your puppy!! For bonus points, speak in terrible, hilarious, terrible prose.

ten.
Possessive & Manipulative love. You want this person, need them, want to own them -- but things don't seem to be going as planned. They keep looking at other people and talking to other people... it doesn't matter if they feel the same way, you'll force them into doing what you want them to do. You'll manipulate the situation. You'll manipulate their feelings until they are utterly yours, and can no longer deny that they belong to you. Cold and calculating, you'll get what you want.

   [a classic!]

Exactly one minute had passed since she arrived at his door, yet she stood there, considering the door as if it would provide answers to all her questions. As if it would tell her the correct path of action.

What had started as a chance meeting in a specialty food store--she had been on a quest for familiar flavors from her home country--shortly turned into a guarded friendship, followed by a less guarded one. While their schedules both aided in hiding his condition, Sheva soon noticed a pattern in monthly unavailability due to sickness and/or 'work.' She found herself, despite all efforts to the contrary, worrying and caring enough to check in on him.

Which was exactly why she stood in front of his door, debating between the doorbell and the knocker. He had told her he'd be off on a job, busy, but it had fit the monthly pattern.

Gathering her courage and preparing herself for a roulette wheel of both consequences and actions, Sheva rang the doorbell and waited.

Eliot smelled her scent standing in front of his door long before she even rang the doorbell. It was the day of the first full moon, possibly a few hours before nightfall. She shouldn't be here.

The retrieval specialist growled in irritation when the doorbell finally rang and angrily zipped his gym bag close. He kept a cabin up in the northern woodlands for the conditions of his curse, and he had been about to leave when she arrived.

Damnit, what horrible timing. He didn't know if he had bad luck or if she did, but the smart thing would be to wait for her to leave and not answer the door. He said he was going to be gone away for a job, so that part of it would fit not having anyone home.

Growling again to the empty room, he waited to see if she would leave.
partnerinheels: (i'm not sure what you mean)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-02-25 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Many of her doubts revolved around privacy. Both preferred and respected each others boundaries, but something nagged at her about these monthly stints. She had a gut feeling she really couldn't ignore any longer.

When he didn't answer, she sighed, torn between what to do. She had seen his vehicle in the parking lot. However, she knew very well that he could not only have others she didn't know about, but have taken a cab to wherever he usually went. This had been a long shot, and she had taken it to no result. Part of her was relieved. It wasn't the larger part. Something still felt wrong.

In a last ditch effort, she slipped her cellphone from her pocket and quickly typed out a message to him, sending it within thirty seconds.

I have a bad feeling and I'm worried. Are you okay?
golden_retriever: (Wolf's Annoyance)

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-02-26 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Damnit. Since he was at home, Eliot had set his phone on ringing and now it rang, loudly, when he received a new message.

Guess there was no chance she would think he wasn't home from that.

Sighing, he glanced at the text message then the person behind the door. Knowing it was impossible to tell her to leave now, and supposedly he should at least tell her not to worry, he growled again and went to open his door. One lock was opened along with the safety chain.

He opened the door halfway and propped himself in the opening. "Yeah, I'm fine," he answered directly, not even bothering with greetings of the sort.
partnerinheels: (wide eyes)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-02-29 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Her heart sank when she heard the familiar ringtone from the other side of the door, but she didn't have time to linger on the implications the earlier silence had meant. It also didn't give her enough time to school the hurt and shock from her features by the time he did open the door.

Due to the surprise, his growl and body language almost caused her to back up a step. Instead, her eyes simply widened at his abrasiveness, but seconds later she her face moved to a less shocked, more disappointed expression.

"You're not fine." There was a sadness in her voice, laced with a stubborn resolve, despite his attitude, not to leave him alone to deal with whatever was happening.

Before Eliot caught himself, he was already scowling at Sheva's impertinence at contradicting his statement. How dare this female question what he said. "How am I not— " He bit the words off before he could snap with them like he wanted to with her throat and... He grit his blunt human teeth instead. In an attempt to calm down, he crossed his arms and repeated, "I'm fine."

He looked down at himself then returned his pointed glare on Sheva, a glower that might just have the beginnings of yellow flecking through his blue eyes. "How am I not fine? I'm here, I'm well. Was just 'bout to leave 'fore you came bargin' here with..." Unable to come up with a way to finish the sentence, he ended it in a noisy exhale.

He changed his train of thoughts to put her on defensive instead. "Why're you here?"
partnerinheels: (ummmm yeah)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-01 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
This wasn't Eliot, at least, not the one she knew. Something was glaringly wrong, regardless of if it had anything to do with the time of the month, and Sheva knew she had to help. Even if it put her in harm's way.

"Considering you're usually the epitome of calm and self-awareness?" Her eyebrow quirked upwards as she gave him a look that urged him to see just how obvious his actions contradicted his statement.

At the 'barging' comment, Sheva simply looked down to her feet, the ones that hadn't moved an inch since she arrived. Her expression when she returned her gaze to his told him her stubbornness would keep her either on that spot, or further into the privacy of his living space. "Do you have nosy neighbors? I can't remember." Her voice sounds innocent enough, but it has a suggestive note to it.

Though she's set on helping him by this point, her voice does take on a soft, almost pleading tone. "Eliot... Just let me be your friend."
golden_retriever: (Wolf's Annoyance)

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-03-01 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Sheva's words hit him like a powerful kick that sent him mentally reeling. "Shit," he answered, an expression of awkward surprise plastered to his usually unfazed face. "Shit."

She was right, he wasn't acting like himself. No matter how upset he got, he would never have snarled at her unprovoked like... like a damn beast.

Growling, but no longer aimed at his uninvited guest, Eliot turned abruptly and began stalking back into the house. His door was left standing ajar. Let that be an invitation for Sheva if she needed one. "You shouldn't be here," he told her, suddenly sounding more tired but more himself than he had in the past few days. He was still agitated under the surface, but after Sheva's timely interference, the beast was locked back in its cage, temporarily.

"It... It's a bad time for you to be here. I was 'bout to head out." In emphasis, he gestured to the duffel bag on the table, packed and ready for leaving.
partnerinheels: (attention grabbed)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-24 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
She allowed him to acquire a safe distance before slipping inside behind him and shutting the door, pausing a slight beat before finally locking the deadbolt. He always locked the door, so she'd follow his habit in his house. A mental note was made just in case.

Ignoring his question in favor of focusing on the solution, Sheva followed him deeper into his living space, ever cautious of whatever had him snapping and full of rage.

"Eliot, something's clearly having a negative affect on you and I want to help." Sheva glanced at the duffel bag when it's identified, but kept an even face. She was determined, at this point, to help him using whatever means necessary. Cautiously, as if instinctively approaching a cornered animal, Sheva stepped closer to Eliot, close enough to slowly reach up and put a hand on his forehead, checking his temperature. She tried to make every move as nonthreatening as possible.

This close, she keeps her eyes watching his, trusting him enough not to try and hurt her. Softly, her voice gave away just how worried she was for him. "You can trust me. Whatever it is, I'm not leaving you alone to deal with it."

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-03-24 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Eliot's hackles raised as Sheva stepped near, his beast automatically perceiving her as a threat in his territory. Once again, Eliot forcefully threw the animal back and caged it despite it's howling and clawing at him in his soul.

It was a battle that Sheva could see clearly, now close enough to touch, that raged as clear as moonlight in the depths of his eyes. For a while they were turning yellow, blue shot through with lines and spots of golden hues that was unnatural as flames on the ocean. Then as Eliot triumphed, the blue made a victorious return, claiming the sea and stamping out the yellow fires before they could engulf it in rolling waves of golden flames.

Eliot turned away suddenly, away from her touch and that soft intense gaze.

"There's a—" He shook his head angrily, glad to feel this temper that was clean and purely him, unfettered by his bestial rage.

"You won't understand." How could she if he barely understood it himself? He was cursed this way for a score of years now, yet he still felt as confused, as helpless, as the first time it happened. He had it under control but caging it was not the same as knowing it.

"I can hurt you, it's dangerous here." He turned again to look at her with pale blue eyes asking for understanding. For his actions if not his condition. "You should go."

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-24 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Time seemed to slow as she watched the ongoing battle of his eyes. The unsettling and raw nature of it pulled her closer, it seemed, and she was incapable of tearing her gaze from whatever was happening. It took him breaking the gaze for her to come to her sense, for thoughts to process at a normal speed once again.

The last time she saw eyes change, it had been the result of genetic tampering. It had not been a good sign then, either.

"Try me," she pressed back, not wanting to give up on him, especially when he obviously had already done so for himself. The next command inflicted a scoff, brushing off the very notion of her leaving and abandoning him to his own, lonely devices. "I'm used to danger. I can handle myself." Her tone told him that she refused to leave voluntarily, and her body language, well it said he'd have to forcibly remove her if he truly wanted her gone.

"I know you've been through a lot, Sheva. But this—" Eliot gestured angrily at, unsurprisingly, himself in a jerky head to toe sweep of his body with his hand. "This, this curse..."

His face scrunched up and he growled angrily, one fist clenching up to control the rage within him. "It ain't your regular problem." He turned away and walked over to his duffel bag as if he needed the distance to clear his head.

"Sheva, thanks for comin' over, but—" Grinding his teeth together, he looked down and picked up the bag. If she found out the truth, if she knew what a monster he literally was, then more trouble than simply having a worried friend will follow. "I should go."
partnerinheels: (startled over shoulder)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-25 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Had he not gestured to himself in such a jarring manner, Sheva would have been angry at the mention of her past. Instead, she set her jaw and crossed her arms over her chest. Even she wasn't this bad during that time of the month.

Then it suddenly hit her, clicking together resolutely in her mind as he turned away. Her eyes widened and her jaw hung loosely as Sheva mentally ran through the details, just to be sure. The entire idea seemed preposterous, like something out of a movie. Eliot's rumbling voice broke her out of the epiphany, bringing her back to reality.

With her jaw set and her hands back at her sides, Sheva purposefully closed the distance between them and planted herself between him and the door, holding out a hand to request a moment more. Her face no longer held anger, but sadness. Not because of his curse, but because he's had to deal with something so traumatic alone for who knows how long.

"It's a full moon," Sheva said quietly, gauging his reaction. She wanted him to know she knew, or at the very least suspected. And even though she couldn't possibly grasp the gravity of something like werewolves existing, she wanted him to know that above all, she refused to abandon him. "You can't keep handling this alone. Please."
golden_retriever: (Wolf's Weariness)

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-03-25 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
'It's a full moon.' The words jarred him more than anything else she could have said. Had she figured it out, just from his small slips of the tongue?

Eliot's eyes widened then narrowed quickly, trying to hide what he knew was already spotted by the perceptive woman.

"I've been doin' it for years," he said gruffly, admitting through the lack of denial that she was right. "There's nothin' you can do 'bout it, alright?" He gestured vaguely with his hand, agitated quick jerks at himself. "It's not like you can... just... cut it out. It ain't somethin' you can amputate, or, or, or a disease you can cure."

With her in the way of his exit, he huffed and turned back away, looking towards the window this time. His voice softened and there was a tone of hopelessness that edged in. "I've tried... I... There's nothin' that could be done."

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-25 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
She sighed softly, allowing him the privacy of glancing away for a moment. It didn't matter, Sheva had seen the answer in his reaction.

Years. That's how long he had been hating this part of himself, regardless of the fact that it now defined part of him, changing him permanently. Sheva doubted there had been a choice in the matter. Month to month he never had a choice.

The notion of cutting out part of him, even a curse, pained her. It hadn't even been an option. "It's part of you now. I understand." She had the luxury of not only being fresh eyes, but an outside perspective. With that, she knew what needed to happen. He wasn't going to like her answer when she eventually gave it.

After allowing him a brief silence, she closed the distance, letting her fingertips settle comfortingly on his mid-back. That connection served further to test the waters, and if he reacted favorably, she'll slip her arms around him from behind, gently hugging him against her. "Then you move forward. You won't have to be alone anymore. I care too much to let that happen. We'll figure something out."

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-03-25 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Eliot locked up when he felt Sheva's touch on him. His shoulders stiffened and his eyes flashed with surprise and open threat, but even after several seconds, he didn't push her away. Even as the hostility was draining from his posture, he felt the strong secure arms of the lady fighter wrap around him, pressing him close.

Like her words, were trying to calm him, he could feel the soft curves of her body press against him in a soothing hold to counter his abrasive harshness.

Again, he didn't shake her away but merely closed his eyes and exhaled in an unforgiving sigh. "I'm a monster," he said, as if all that talk previously hadn't driven the point home to her yet. "There's nothin' to 'figure out', Sheva! I'm a werewolf!"

There, he said it, made it out into the open where there was no taking it back. He sagged in her arms for a minute before he broke free of her hold. "You're right, it's part of me. I've moved on, moved forward. I deal."
partnerinheels: (talk serious)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-25 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
When he called himself a monster, Sheva simply shook her head against him in silent disagreement with his verdict. Sure, he might be a werewolf, but she couldn't help but still see him as Eliot and not the beast. Sure, she could definitely identify the traits that were distinctly not Eliot and more animalistic, but they didn't eliminate his identity by simply existing.

To her, he was the same Eliot that could easily out cook anyone she knew, especially in the stranger cuisines. He's the only one she knew that could not only duplicate, but improve on dishes from her childhood. Animals couldn't do that. Nor could they have long discussions and debates concerning the best weapon choice for various 'hypothetical' situations. That sort of intelligence and culture didn't just disappear because of a curse.

When he shook her off, she let him escape, watching him silently for a moment. His words, his denial, brought a new aching wave of sadness for him. "If you had moved on, then why haven't you accepted it as part of you?" She spoke cautiously, fearing the anger of his reaction that probably was on it's way. "Instead, you're full of hate." It's something she can understand, the hate and guilt, followed by the 'what ifs' and dreams of everything going differently. Sheva offered him an empathetic expression, but said nothing of these things. He knew she understood, at least to some degree.
golden_retriever: (Wolf's Annoyance)

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-03-27 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Accept?" Sheva was right to expect her words to bring forth that unnatural anger within Eliot, but it wasn't aimed at her. It was a loathing self hatred that choked him, one that he obviously was unable to make peace with. Anything else he could accept, he could even accept his checkered and unsavory past and make peace with that monster because he was able to control it.

This, there was no way to control a monster that appeared every full moon.

"I turn into a fuckin' animal," he growled while dragging his hair back in an agitated motion. "I can't control this, and if I don't get outta here soon— You don't want me here."

He turned to look back at her, and even in the fading evening light, Sheva can easily see there was a distinctive yellow glint to his irises.
partnerinheels: (you're kidding)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-27 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Do you loose yourself entirely?" She asked evenly, though it's evident that she's reasoned out he's not only aware, but able to keep himself in check well enough. Otherwise, he definitely wouldn't have let her stay this close to him for this long. Not if she were in actual danger. The lack of total control was the real button pusher.

She noticed the eyes, using them as a time gauge of sorts, and despite their golden hue, Sheva stood her ground. "I'll take my chances." There's a pause as she fixed her human eyes on his, which turned more wolfish by the second. "I trust you."

And if things didn't go well? Well, she'd just cross that bridge when she came to it.
golden_retriever: (Wolf's Annoyance)

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-03-28 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"You shouldn't," Eliot told her outright. You don't know what I've done, was implied loudly enough. "Damnit, Sheva, don't you get it, it's not safe!"

He tried to get into a staring match with her, his stubbornness against hers, but as he felt his lips curl back into a wolfish snarl, he suddenly broke away and started pacing. Slow measuring steps took him across the room, back and forth like a caged animal.

"I... I can retain some control." Not enough for his taste and, and not enough to remain as a human, which was bad enough. "But I shouldn't be here." Not in the city where he could hurt people.
partnerinheels: (talking with chris)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-03-28 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
"If you think I'm letting you drive when you're about to turn, you really are out of your mind." She countered, knowing that that window had long since disappeared. As he stared, so did Sheva, refusing to back down.

"I've fought monsters worse thank the likes of a wolf and survived, so don't worry about me." Her voice had softened as she watched him pace, easily identifying the pent up hate and anger that didn't need to be there. Not if he accepted this new part of himself. Easier said than done, surely.

Silently, she weighed the options.

"Where were you planning on going?" Maybe she could help him in that way. While she wouldn't allow him to drive like this, if she could convince him to let her drive, she'd be able to take him out of the city.
golden_retriever: (Wolf's Style)

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-03-28 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
The pacing stopped and Eliot's lips pressed to a thin line. He wasn't even remotely satisfied with this solution, but knowing no matter how upset he was Sheva would be too stubborn to give in, it simply gave him no choice.

"I've got a place up north," he finally answered with a sigh. It was a safe house of sorts, but he suppose compromising a safe house was the best deal he would get this time. Also, he didn't feel too threatened letting Sheva know about the cabin when she already found out the larger secret about him.

"If we left now, should still be able to make it before night falls."
partnerinheels: (yeah right 9_9)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-04-04 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm driving." She said firmly, settling the matter before he could scrounge up another argument as to why she should leave him alone. Just in case he kept up the persistence.

Moments after her statement, Sheva strode knowingly to where he kept his keys, having paid attention all those times he either snagged them or replaced them neatly to their home. It came as more habit than anything, and she inwardly hoped that he wouldn't assume anything that would bring about distrust.

"I might need to borrow a tank and some shorts later. Unless you wish me to sleep naked?" If she even manages to sleep with Eliot turning into a wolf during the night. Sheva had meant the words to be a comforting quip of sorts to try and relieve the tangible tension in the room, but she realized afterwards that he may take it the wrong way. To be sure of her meaning, she offered him a friendly grin that she often gave him when teasing the older man.

[personal profile] golden_retriever 2012-04-05 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Damnit, she was persistent. Seeing the choice was taken out of his hands, literally as she held the keys to his car, he sighed and finally gave in. It was that or get into a real fight with her and in the state he was in, he was genuinely worried that he might end up hurting her.

How she naturally plucked the keys from their spot made him raise an eyebrow, but he wasn't moved towards suspicion at the moment. It was nothing less than what he himself would have noticed.

The opening about needing clothes was another opportunity for Eliot to tell Sheva to go home again, but he wasn't going to insult her by doing so. So with a resigned but displeased noise, Eliot told Sheva, "Stay here," with a downward jab of two fingers to emphasize the here. He disappeared back to his room where he picked up some more used but clean clothes that he returned to throw into the bag as well.

He growled as he picked up his bag for the last time and ushered Sheva out of his home, himself following after her. As they walked to his car, he grumbled just above audible level, "Any other time you refuse to leave and offer to sleep naked, I'd be takin' you up on it. Sheva, your timing sucks."
partnerinheels: (stoic stance)

[personal profile] partnerinheels 2012-05-24 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
She had no reason to go anywhere, so Sheva stood and waited patiently as her mind attempted to process everything that had just happened on top of what could and would happen that evening. Besides, she knew she pushed hard against many of his boundaries and comfort zones that day, and didn't intend on overdoing it anymore than necessary. So when he returned with the extra clothes, she hadn't moved from the spot in which he left her.

The walk to the car might have been full of awkward silence, but his complaint, whether serious or not, only seemed to break the tension and Sheva laughed loudly.
