the affectionate physical contact meme
you love spending time with your significant other. but sometimes, just "spending time" with him/her isn't enough. you need to have your hands on each other every now and then.
➝ post your character below, with your character's name and series in the subject.
➝ tag other people, using an rng with range 1-8 to roll a scenario.
➝ roll as many times as you want, play out whatever you want!
one; hugging. you just want to give your loved one a warm embrace. be it out of happiness, to comfort them while they're down, or just to give them something warm to latch onto, you just want to wrap your arms around them.
two; kissing. whether it's a peck on the cheek or a deep kiss, a kiss good-bye or a romantic kiss, you find yourself compelled to kiss the other person! be as tender or as passionate as you so choose.
three; holding hands. it's a simple gesture, really -- to reach out and take someone's hand. but that one simple gesture can convey any number of sentiments. what the sentiment is, is up to you, but you find yourself reaching out to take your significant other's hand.
four; carrying. is your loved one hurt and needs a lift? do they want a piggyback ride? or do you just want to spare them the effort of walking? whatever the reason, you're now itching to pick up your partner and carry them to their destination.
five; i love you. you've said it before or maybe you haven't but now you have to say it again or for the first time.
six; dancing. kick up the music, because it's time to dance! but no lone dancing allowed -- you need to have a partner! you can do whatever dance strikes your fancy. personally, i recommend the slow dance, but you can do whatever you want!
seven; massaging. did your significant other have a rough day? did they get hurt? or do you just feel like doing something really nice for them? whatever it is, you're giving them a nice massage now. they'll feel wonderful in no time!
eight; flirting. the easiest way to break the ice or maybe you're just an overly flirty person.
nine; cuddling. sometimes there's just no better feeling than curling up next to each other on a warm sofa. hold each other, lie next to each other, fall asleep on each other -- it's all good here.
ten; wild card! reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else!
wow this is late but SAM YOU WILL HAVE YOUR PRINCESS
Now she has the courage and the music drifting through the air courtesy of an ancient radio, a miracle she figured out how to use at all. All she needs is a partner. And Sam? Well, she's more than a little fond of him, and he fits the bill perfectly.
Mid-twirl, her thankfully braided for everyone's safety hair moving through the air, she reached out toward him.]
Dance with me, Sam! Please?
FINALLY SOMETHING GOES RIGHT IN HIS LIFE
Dean was out, so Sam was watching over her. Not that he minded--he volunteered, actually (which coupled with a few smirks and smacks on the back from his brother). Notably, the motel room was a lot more interesting with her spinning around in it. He was trying not to stare, but he couldn't hide it when she finally addressed him. ]
Dance?
[ Cue awkward face! And an awkward laugh. ]
You don't want that. I'm not very good.
no subject
It was going to happen.]
I'm just learning, so we can be not good together. [She moved to take his hands. Of course, given the size difference between them, it was unlikely that she could pull him out on the "dance floor."
...probably.]
Come on.
[She gave him a gentle, pleading smile.]
no subject
Sam sighed, giving in without much of a fuss. He allows her to tug him forward, but pushed himself out of the chair and stood at his full height. ]
Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you.
no subject
But there wasn't any of that coming through now; the way she beamed up at him was completely genuine.]
Don't worry, it'll be fine!
[Then, with a bite of her lip in the same fashion she had when she got intensely into her artwork, She rested her hand on his shoulder- actually, it was more on his chest after a moment of pondering whether or not she should stand on her tiptoes- then attempted to guide his hand toward her waist. Hey, this needed to be authentic, right?]
All right, there we go. Now we just move in time to the music. [Easy enough.]
How about on the count of three?.
no subject
He does place his hand on her waist, the other taking her hand in his. ]
One, two, three--
[ The song wasn't exactly what he would call premium dancing material, but it would work. He does offer her a small smile, even if dancing around two hideous beds wasn't exactly prom night. ]
Your first night of freedom and you decide to spend it with Michael Buble, huh?
no subject
At any rate, though, she mouthed the numbers as he said them, and on three began to sway. Apparently, it was the right thing to do, as they didn't fall into some kind of hideous.
Once she was certain that things would go off without a hitch, she caught the tail end of what he was saying.]
Is that a bad thing? I kinda like this music, you know!
[At least that was what she thought he was referring to.
...poor, poor Rapunzel. Good taste would probably come later. The music was good enough to dance to, in her eyes, with a rhythm that she could move her feet to. She did have some grace about her from all those years of dancing by herself, though neither of them would be a sight to see, at least not for the right reasons- in her old-fashioned dress and bare feet, she looked like someone from a renn faire dancing with a modern day guy.
None of that matters, though, not to her. There was magic in the steps just by sharing this moment with someone.]
But I could think of worse things to be doing. [She laughed, her giggle a little less nervous than it had been when they first met. Her grip on.] It's better than doing this alone.
no subject
That in mind... ]
...It could be a lot worse, yeah.
[ He raised his brows at her admission. He couldn't imagine her situation; to think that he had spent his entire childhood never staying in one place longer than a few months, and instead having one place that you could never leave. For being an obvious shut-in, she was surprisingly well-adjusted. ]
Is that really what you'd do all day? [ Getting stuck in a motel room for twenty-four hours was bad enough. ] Sounds like it'd be kind of...I don't know; lonely.
no subject
I wasn't really lonely. I had Pascal, [Speaking of, where was that lovable frog-lizard-chameleon? You'd think he'd be nearby making oddly anthropomorphic stink eyes at Sam; he hadn't exactly warmed up to him the way Rapunzel had. But maybe his absence was all for the better.] and mother wasn't always gone.
[See, it was easy being well-adjusted when you...
made yourself
er, believe things.
Yeeeeah. Dancing is nice.]
I guess I never knew any different until now.
[Tilting her head in towards him, she paused a moment before asking:]
What about you and Dean? Do you two get lonely, like a different kind of lonely, always going different places?
[It seemed like a natural problem to grow out of that. As adventurous as she was unfettered by her fears and worries, she can't imagine not having a home.]
no subject
Well-adjusted.
Most definitely.
He's quiet for a moment, like he hadn't been expecting the question to get turned to him.
Of course it got lonely. At the beginning he had been pretty good at keeping in contact with old friends, but over time those conversations slowly dwindled to nothing. It is better this way, anyway, and though it took some time, he realizes it now. The less people he has close to him, the less they can get hurt.
Sam offers her a forced smile. ]
Nah. I've got him, even if he's a pain in the ass most of the time.
[ At least that gets half of a real smile. ]
no subject
[Just...sneaking that in there. She feels like she had to clarify Pascal's species even when he isn't present; he can get kind of persnickety about it.
But she's also someone who's pretty good at fake smiles herself, though she doesn't put her finger on why Sam's seems a little odd. Instead, she locks that information away to avoid stepping into sensitive matters later.]
He's definitely something. [Surprisingly enough, Rapunzel hadn't taken to Dean's guff nor his flirtations. In fact, she'd been the one to negotiate her "rescue" with him by brandishing kitchenware. There relationship has mostly evened out, though, and when she understands his lingo, she likes to banter with him. Still, she doesn't appear to be as close to him as she is Sam.] It's been fun traveling with him so far.
[The music changes to something a bit more lively, and Rapunzel's face brightens.]
Here, wanna try a twirl? I saw that on the tee-vee!
no subject
Yeah, he'll keep it to himself. She's a nice girl.
Sam does kind of laugh at that. She puts up with Dean better than most and he is eternally grateful for that. ]
That's the nice way to put it. Don't tell him that, though. His ego doesn't need any help.
[ It's said with love. Honestly.
Really.
His lip quirks again at the suggestion. ]
A twirl? [ He could see this easily going into knocking the tv over, but... ] Okay, just stay in this...area. On the count of three?
no subject
Plus, Dean had told her about something about deposits when she'd accidentally broken a lamp with her hair. So she knows to be extra careful.
...when she's not in the zone of expressing herself, of course.]
Okay. Staying here, promise.
[A nod as she holds her arm out just like the dancers she'd so carefully observed do.]
One, two...
no subject
He might just call that karma, though. ]
--three.
[ As carefully as possible, he guides her into a few simple twirls, thankful that his height advantage keeps him out of the way of her not so secret weapon; her hair was really very heavy when it was braided like that.
She looks like she's having fun. And actually, so was he, as silly as it all was. Maybe he needs a bit of silly every now and then. ]
no subject
But what she lacks in being informed, she makes up for enthusiasm. That much is obvious in the way she dances, taking each spin as a moment of freewheeling...well, freedom! Yes, she's finding it's much better to dance with someone else; she can tilt, hold her arm out, everything without worrying about falling to the side.
After the final twirl, she spins back into position close to him, standing on her tiptoes and smiling up at him.]
I thought you said you were no good at dancing!
no subject
They'd have to breach the topic eventually. It is hard to consider when she's smiling up at him like that though.
He gives a short, quiet laugh. ]
It helps having a good partner. I might be okay as long as we avoid breakdancing.
no subject
But Sam. Sam, don't.
You'll just encourage her.]
What's breakdancing?
no subject
And they probably will continue to do so until she pushes it. At least she's keeping herself occupied with the wonders of the outside world until then.
Oh. Welp. He just opened up a topic that is best avoided.
He'll try to distract her by guiding her into the rhythm of the current song. Slow dance. Yeah. ]
Something best left in the early 90s.
don't threadblock me, dw :(
[But she doesn't mind, apparently, given the way she's now swaying in time again, her fingers entwined in his.
Don't be surprised if she's listening to Vanilla Ice later, though.]
I'm having flashbacks to LJ DDOS attacks
It's just not really my kind of thing. [ He's much more of a wallflower when he is dragged out with Dean. Sitting in t corner with a beer and his laptop is infinitely more preferable.
Rapunzel no. Just say no to parachute pants. ]
no subject
She doesn't know what a crush is, exactly, so that's not anything that comes to mind. She just wants to keep him happy like that.]
What kind of music is?
