the les mis romance meme

1. I Dreamed a Dream: Maybe things aren't working out just the way you thought they would. Sometimes, there are just dreams that cannot be.
2. Lovely Ladies: You’re getting to know each other a little more closely. But who are we to judge... even stokers need a little stoke.
3. The Confrontation: Looks like you two just can’t see eye to eye. Will you kiss and make up, or will you abandon ship?
4. Castle on a Cloud: Your relationship is absolutely perfect, cute, and fluffy.
5. Master of the House: You loooooove each other. And that’s not just the alcohol talking. Really.
6. Red and Black: Suddenly, you feel your soul on fire. Your world just isn’t complete if that other person isn’t there.
7. A Heart Full of Love: Congrats, you’ve found your soulmate! Of course, you’ve only just met, so perhaps you should take a little time to get to know them as you’re confessing your love.
8. On My Own: You lost out in the battle of love. What do you do when you find out you aren’t the target of your dear friend’s affections? Do you let him know, or do you anguish silently in his presence?
9. A Little Fall of Rain: One of you is dying. Take your last moments to confess how you really feel.
10. Wedding Chorale: What it says on the tin. You’re getting married! Enjoy your happy day. Don’t let any party crashers ruin the moment.
11. Do You Hear the People Sing?: Roller’s choice. Pick a Les Mis song that I didn’t use! Make up your own scenario!

Marius Pontmercy | Les Miserables | OTA
[WELP. SEEMS LEGIT.]#3?
"...Marius, please, will you just talk to me?!"
no subject
Sighing as if bothered, he looked staunchly away and debated whether he ought to just head outside and close the door behing him without a word. But-- Fine. They could talk.
He would try to be civil.
"Yes. Yes, all right."
She seemed dead set on cornering him, anyway. This would have to do. He'd stop at the door, waiting for her to speak first.
[ooc: Any preference for what the confrontation should be over? I'm up for anything, though I confess to having not seen SH yet! I know the book canon and a little about Molly. But would you like this to be past/modern & any idea what they could be in a fuss about? I'm happy to follow your lead on that!]

Molly frowned, her stomach feeling like it was awash in a sea of dread. This wasn't the Marius she knew; he hadn't been for days. She wasn't quite sure when it started, or why he felt he couldn't speak to her about why.
She gives him a long look, struggling to keep her hands at her sides. She doesn't want to show her insecurity by fidgeting. "..Do you hate me?"
no subject
"Hate you?" The words roll off his tongue almost as a whisper, and the suggestion seems only to intensify his anger. First, she will not take his sound advice to abandon that which could harm or ruin her-- and now, accused of hate?
"Were that you would not judge my advice so harshly as all that, Molly. It is a very grave accusal. No; I do not hate you."
no subject
"And I don't feel any better for having made such an accusation, but Marius...You've become distant lately. Or do I misunderstand your temperament?" She pressed her lips together in a thin line; she didn't want to give in to those behaviors often associated with the fairer sex, at the very least not before she figured out what was the proper source of the rift between them. "If it isn't hate, then why act like this?"

you wanna go canon or shipping!au on this one?]
no subject
I'm cool either way. We can do something canon and angsty where they talk about feelings soner than 2 minutes before Eponine dies, or do an au where Marius hasn't met Cosette and they are A Thing. I'm game for either!]
oh right i need a prompt. um. 6 i guess?
[It's all too often that Eponine ceases to be able to stand remaining in the small room she and her family share. And, while she hates leaving Azelma alone to their parents whims, a little selfishness now and then surely can't hurt. Besides, staying a little while longer, with her father slowly draining the bottle by his hand as he writes his letters to be delivered tomorrow, is hardly advisable.
Which is why she's slunk away from her father's gaze behind his back, shut the door as quietly as she could and stole to the door beside it. Whether or not she'll be welcomed is yet to be seen, but with Marius' admittance of his feelings, perhaps Eponine's company won't be as rejected as she once thought they would be.
As quietly as she can, she knocks on the door, stealing a glance at the one she'd just come out of, in case the noise had roused someone. Evidently not, so Eponine risks a whisper.]
M. Marius?
no subject
[It's maddening, to be honest. Marius felt half-daft that the realization had taken so very long. How had it happened, really? He couldn't say. Eponine had for so long been in the shadow of greater things in his life; of the struggle for a law degree, the resolute switch to daily poverty, the night spent trying to get a handle on where he might stand on the warpath that Enjolras blazed and Courfeyrac followed. New world, new friends, new career, new languages. The teasing girl who acted very much like one of the boys and got about just as one couldn't really be spared a passing glance in all the fuss of his already full life.
It had been a passing whisper-- who from? Probably Grantaire, but he could not be sure-- about Eponine's form, the way she filled out her dresses. He'd laughed, of course; but then had also looked. Looked and really seen. Maybe in that moment, she first began to shed the almost comrade-like nature he'd given her. Once that had begun, it was hopeless. He began to notice the attentions she paid to him not as mere jest, but perhaps as something else. Began to take kindly to her warmth and her visits.
It had been a slow growth, not a smoldering moment of knowingness. But it had grown. Eventually to the point where he thought it ill not to hide it from her any longer.
But, with that came the feeling of being rather foolish at just how slow. A thought that often kept him from his translations and might have at this very moment, had a knock at the door not served equally well in that regard.
Standing rom his desk, he headed swiftly to the door to unlock it, opening it for her; for who else would it be at this hour.]
Eponine?
no subject
So, she chances a faint smile.]
Have I interrupted you? [A brief glance over his shoulder's given her a view of his books lying open on the simple desk in the room beyond. Eponine hardly wants to tear him from something more important, after all.]
no subject
[Comes the reply, perhaps a little too quickly; tellingly so. That he's glad to see her plays across his face in a fleeting smile that alters and returns in a manner sure but still nervous yet. Marius has never been good at hiding what he felt, his face an entirely open book, for better or worse.
As for the other entirely open books, he'd been paying them no heed anyway, head somewhere else, lost in the clouds. Perhaps not very professional, but when passions took him, they took him whole.
Like an apparition, it seemed that his knew to come by that silent call.]
Come in.
[He beckoned, after a moment, reaching up to touch a hand to her shoulder warmly, but brief-- now mimicking her in glancing over Eponine's shoulder, across the way. To be sure.]
no subject
But, of course, he's far too kind for that. For a fleeting moment, she fights the urge to flinch from the hand extended towards her, forcing herself to relax and then doing so voluntarily as his skin makes contact with hers. Marius, unlike so many other men in her life, is always gentle with her. One really doesn't need to be, but the gesture is enough for Eponine to let her guard down some.
The glance over her shoulder isn't missed. Ah, so Marius is smart enough to check whether or not anyone's coming for her. Eponine smiles to herself as she steps through the doorway, glad he's at least able to do that.
Immediately, she picks up one of his books, rifling through the pages. Eponine's proud of her ability to read, she is. Her eyes flicker briefly up from the pages to meet Marius' and she smiles. Romance isn't really something Eponine is used to having to deal with, but that's not to say she can't try.
And so, she sets the book down, approaching carefully.]
I have missed you. You do not spend so much time here anymore, only at night when I cannot come and see you. [Eponine would normally follow him around during the day, but letters need to be delivered. Sigh.]
no subject
She's a clever girl, but he'd like to think he has that one on her.]
You'll have to excuse my absences... with what is forthcoming, well. We are in the cafe all hours, it sometimes feels.
[His tone is apologetic as he sets back down his hand, striding to where she is to pull out the chair for her, wishing her to be comfortable. He nearly has it on the tip of his tongue that she is very welcome for night visits like these, before he colors, realizing that statement is ne'er appropriate.
In fact, her being here might be very little appropriate at this hour, if not for what he knew she left behind.]
A walk, then. Some day soon. Through the Luxembourg Gardens-- it's a good place to lose one's self.
It would be a sincerest honour to have your company.
