the phone hell meme

Cell phones, eh? Sometimes they make your life easier-- and sometimes they make it harder.
#1: Texts From Last Night
#2: Damn you, Autocorrect
#3: Recipient Misfire
#4: Mix & Match
#5: Wildcard
Option One:
Texts From Last Night
You know the drill: RNG, or pick one that tickles your fancy. Post blank and let others text you about their night, or send out a mass text for anyone to reply to by posting a TFLN when you tag the post.
Option Two:
Damn You Autocorrect
We've all done it. Either sit and wait for other people's mistakes to come to you with a blank tag, or take the bull by the horns and make the first
Option Three:
Recipient Misfire
It's just so easy to hit the wrong name in your phone, isn't it? Embarrassment city! ...But is that better or worse than manually inputting the number incorrectly and texting a complete stranger by mistake?
Option Four:
Mix & Match!
Let autocorrect fuck up the TFLN you're sending to the wrong person. Go nuts!
Option Five:
Do Whatever The Fuck You Want
You know what, if none of these ideas are good enough for you, your ass can come up with something else. I don't even care.
cosette | les miserables (modern au bookverse)
[1/2]
[2/2]
Wait. That-- I didn't mean to send that to you. Please ignore that.
[Why is 'Courfeyrac' so close to 'Cosette' on the contacts list?]
no subject
I'm afraid that is too big a bomb to have accidentally dropped via text...
no subject
[There's another pause between texts in which he puts his face in his hands and tries to get a grip of his slightly tipsy thoughts.
Way to look smooth, Marius.]
Boys night out. Grantaire comes up with the absolute worse drinking games. I'm so sorry.
no subject
Ohh! I can hardly imagine what you're all doing right now. probably having a more exciting night than I am. :)
[1/2]
I don't know. I doubt that. I mean, it would be more exciting if you were here. Where are you?
[2/2]
no subject
I'm not exciting at all! I'm just in bed. [ a text which will probably have interesting repercussions that cosette does not realize just yet. ]
no subject
Marius needs to excuse himself from his friends because he's turning as red as that bloody mary he shouldn't have had.
That sounded very exciting to his vodka-addled brain. Unfortunately, he can't simply say that to her.]
Would you like company? In general! Not in bed. You could come out with us still, the night is young.
no subject
creative thinking is called for. ]
I don't think I should intrude on boys night. But... maybe you can visit before you go home? I'll keep my window open.
no subject
I'll be right there. Now? Is now good?
no subject
Now is just perfect.
[ time to at least throw on some leggings, hide the slippers, etc. what is she even doing?? ]
no subject
But how could he possibly help it? The moments he got to see her were so rare, and fueled by drink?
He was already rushing to get his coat, his typing suffering for it.]
You'r perfekt. I'll b rite there.
no subject
opening the windows, she beams her smile into the night before continuing to flit about her room. tidying, checking her hair, sitting, checking her hair again. she doesn't normally check so often but. well. ]
no subject
When he gets to her window he bites his lip and, thinking it best not to alarm her, takes out his phone again and types to her; 'I'm here. Can I climb up now?']
no subject
'yes. all is clear.' is her quick response before she sets her phone on her nightstand. quickly, she wipes her hands on the front of her blue cotton nightdress and tugs slightly at the grey leggings. nervous. ]

He'd have liked to land more gracefully than in a heap, but a heap is what he manages as he gets in. Sitting on her floor, rubbing at a banged elbow, he'd look up and gave a lazy smile-- that more or less turned electric at the sight of her.
How did she manage to be so beautiful, even just in getting ready for bed?]
Hullo.
no subject
how simple it was, planning this encounter. the difficult part is finding words in person. ]
Marius, [ she breathes with a soft laugh to follow. ] Are you okay?
no subject
That he manage a reply, therefore, is asking quite a bit of him. Still, he gives a smile, an embarrassed laugh and finally, a beat late, bobbles his head into a nod.]
Oh. Yes-- I'm fine. Now that I'm here, I'm fine.
[Perhaps other men would find him cheesy, or cliche. His friends certainly do. But his words to her are always earnest.
Setting his hand away from his elbow, he went to put it over one of hers instead, smile growing.]
My God, but being here is an improvement over being in handcuffs down at the pub. You've saved me, surely.
no subject
she squeezes his hand once she's turned hers over, palm to his palm. closeness at last. ]
What in the world were they trying to do to you? I mean, it must be in good fun, though I probably wouldn't enjoy being cuffed.
no subject
Taking a moment to just look at their hands entwined, feeling how right that little intimacy was, he pressed on sheepishly,]
Oh... I'm not sure I'd call it 'good' fun. It's an awful little game of dares that usually involves attempts at-- well. You know.
[Clearing his throat,] The point of alcohol usually being to ease relations between-- well.
[Why was there no good way of saying this?] A game in which men and women are paired up and either do the dare at hand, or face a punishment picked out by whoever is in charge that round.
[Ever since he'd first seen Cosette? He was rather a faavourite in that drinking game, as his persistant refusals often led to rather compromising punishments. His friends were harmless, really; but they did like their doses of brotherly humiliation.]
no subject
she colors again, though the initial blush never truly faded in the first place. ]
O-oh.
[ her blue eyes widen at the more vivid visual filling her head and she quickly glances away from him with lips still shaped in an 'o.' ]
no subject
But you shouldn't think that I'd-- well, that is to say.
There's a reason I've gotten very good at typing in the cuffs. I'd never take one of those dares, Cosette. You know that, don't you?
[Rather the opposite, much to the unending amusement of his friends. After all; being a hopeless romantic was hilarious enough to the modern male. But being a hopeless romantic who wouldn't give a pretty girl a quick kiss because another, more perfect girl had given you her number some days ago? They couldn't get over that.]
no subject
and besides, when he takes her hand in such a manner, how could she not? ]
Of course, Marius. Your friends only want to tease you. About me, I think?
[ she looks ever so slightly mischievous when she asks the next question. ] How drunk are you?
