How It Works

Sometimes, memes can be awkward. There's always that feeling that, if you don't know the person behind the curtain, you'll be intruding somehow. Don't worry. We've all been there. Still, it's nice to have that little reassurance that hey, it's cool. We're all in this together and we just want to play. That's where this meme comes in! The point here is to play with someone you've never played with before, OR play with a character/canon you're unfamiliar with. The prompts provided include mundane activities, chance meetings, platonic fluff, romance/smut, fighting, and crack. This is pretty much the granddaddy of meme variety, so there should be something for just about everyone. INSTRUCTIONS - Comment with you character(s). In the subject field, put all the info that's relevant + any preferences. - Reply to others. Remember, the goal is to play with new people! - The initial set of prompts is in this post. Connor is selective about the bars he chooses, and even more wary of getting drunk in public, but today he pauses only briefly in the doorway to give the room a once-over, then comes to slide onto a stool at the bar. He's not too remarkable a figure, tallish and a little scruffy, in a long coat. His hair is short and looks like it's been through a bad windstorm, and he needs a shave, but the only thing about his face that really stands out is the intense eyes, storm-grey and changeable and old.

"Glenmoran?"

Tifa half turns from where she'd been setting up some clean glasses before she moves, snagging a bottle and then filling one of the glasses before sliding it over to him with a practiced smile.

"Hi."

He takes the glass and downs most of it in one quick swallow, then studies her with the impossible-to-ignore gaze. "You're new." He's also got a voice like a pack-a-day smoker, and it's probably not the whisky's fault because he didn't even wince drinking it.

In a bar the patrons are a mixed bag, angry drunks, broody silent drunks, flirty drunks, and soppily happy drunks. He's none of the above.

And she's more than used to all kinds. "I am, yes. I'm Tifa." She met his gaze for a moment before turning back to what she'd been doing. "How long have you been here?"

"Connor MacLeod." He nods. Now that he's gone back to using his real name, after centuries of aliases, it feels good to say it. He has to consider the question, though, and is surprised with the answer he comes up with. "A year... and a half, I guess." His accent is a weird muddled European mix, with soft vowels and hints of too many places to name. There's definitely some French, though.

"Nice to meet you, Connor. I've barely been here a week, myself." There's a faint frown as she absorbs the information before the smile returns and she dries her hands on a towel that had been under the bar.

"...Your accent is interesting. I've never heard one like that before."

Connor rubs the back of his neck, lost in thought for a moment, before he replies. "Heh. I've... traveled." Languages he's good at. He speaks plenty of different languages, but his natural accent is a disastrous mish-mash he's never had any real control over.

"Anybody give you the tourist guide yet?"
