Per Wikipedia:

In a support group, members provide each other with various types of help, usually nonprofessional and nonmaterial, for a particular shared, usually burdensome, characteristic. The help may take the form of providing and evaluating relevant information, relating personal experiences, listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing social networks. A support group may also work to inform the public or engage in advocacy.

And now you know. And knowing's half the battle.

• Post with a character.


• Unlike most memes, you'd probably be better off by providing a general theme for people to respond to. You know, have your subject or post read "People who got turned into animals in their respective games" or "Time travelers and keeping the space/time continuum intact."


• Respond to other people and support them through their trials and tribulations.


• NOTE: While you're welcome to post whatever the hell you want, if you delve into triggery whatnot (i.e. abuse, suicide, things which tend to actually evoke real life support groups and therapy) please label your posts with a nice and blatant warning so someone who was looking for Time Travelers Anonymous doesn't accidentally stumble into your suicide thread instead.

I put myself up as an example -- I'm from the movie Corpse Bride, but my best friends are from Back To The Future and the woman I love from "American McGee's Alice." And you don't want to know all the fandoms represented in the city I live in. . .

Oh! Ah -- my mun s-ships Victor/Alice, and in the story I'm f-from, a similarly-alternate Alice is my l-love interest. . .and I've got a more c-canon Alice as a girlfriend on t-tumblr. . .

Do forgive me, I'm sure this is awkward. (For HIM, anyway.)

[Awkward everywhere. Alice is gonna need a second for this.]

Well, as long as you can keep us differentiated. How does she deal with that constant stutter of yours? [Because it's already starting to annoy her.]

Well, you're all different in one way or another. . . F-for example, the one from my story only spent eight years in Rutledge, and lives in Secundus as a monster-killer.

(He fiddles with his tie, embarrassed.) I d-don't think I stutter as much around them. . .it tends to come out most when I'm n-nervous.

If you're this nervous around your lover I can't imagine how you ever get anything done. [He's very shrimpy, but then again Alice has no room to talk in the department of emaciation.]

I'm not. We've been on a couple of dates, and --

(Wait. Wait, was that an innuendo? Victor's going to blush regardless of whether it was or not.)

We get along fine.

[Yyyyep. Alice's biggest ally is a whore, don't act surprised.]

Dates?

Going out and doing things together. We've been to dinner, and to a circus performance. And she's come visited me where I work a number of times.

That's...sweet of you. [Alice's life has been notably less saccharine, and she's not sure what to make of the idea that some version of her is out having healthy relationships.] Does she have fits, still?

[butterflyboy]

(A small smile.) I try to be. (He shakes his head.) None that I've seen -- sometimes she'll drift off into her thoughts, but she's never out and out hallucinated.

(She HAS landed herself in the hospital, but for reasons unrelated to her mental state.)

[queensbane]

It sounds lovely. Hardly anything of me, but lovely. [She wouldn't be Alice if she wasn't a shattered walking mess, but at this point she's accustomed to it.]

[butterflyboy]

We've h-had some good times, yes. (Awkward again, given the circumstances. A little softer, he adds:) I might be madder than her at this point.

I very much doubt that.

[She can't imagine life without the delusions. Childhood is a faint memory at best. Whatever this skinny man has, it's not her and she feels a faint resentment at it for carrying her face but not her troubles.]

I don't suppose I could meet her?

W-well. . . (Twisting his tie in his hands.) My "canon" has mad scientists -- people capable of creating wonders, but -- well, it's in the name. We call them Touched. I -- recently became one. (Weak grin.)

She's on tumblr, so I'm not sure you could unless you or your mun has one as well. . . My mun does have a "group" journal for my friends from "Secundus" which includes that Alice, though.
