 HURT & COMFORT RP [EXPANDED]

Hurt/Comfort - Hurt/comfort
is a fan fiction genre that involves the physical pain or emotional
distress of one character, who is cared for by another character. The
injury, sickness or other kind of hurt allows an exploration of the
characters and their relationship.

- Roll 1-10 at RNG for a scene, play it out and have fun!

1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little papercut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though...
6. BREAKUP. You've been dumped. You need someone to comfort you, possibly by the one who dumped you.
7. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to makeup.
8. RESCUED. You've just been held captived and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
9. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheated on, abused, whatever the case s, someone else can clearly see
you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
10. LOSS. You've experience a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.

[Sometimes, on late nights in crowded bars like this, where everyone's a stranger and names aren't shared, Lindsey dares to drink a bit more. Places like this are where he can let loose a bit, socialize without fear of being recognized. After all, lawyers and demons don't visit these kind of bars, neither do vampires with souls.

So he does, talking that was, to the person seated on the next stool over.]

[Lindsey considered the man for a quick second before he met him with a similarly large grin.]

Amongst things. [He pushed a new mug of beer over.] What brings you to these parts?

Solitude. Anonymity. Alcohol. What else do people seek in such places?

I can't be expecting much if I'm in this place to begin with, can I? [Laughing softly, he raised his beer to clink against the other's.]

[Loki conceded the point with a slight inclination of his head and drank from the mug--it was more bitter than the mead of Asgard, but not as strong. He took another sip]

You make a habit of visiting this place, then?

What me? [Scoff.] About as often as you do, I imagine. Like you said, anonymity. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.

And what made you think approaching a stranger was a good idea?

Bored. And if I wanted to drink alone, I'd have bought a sixpack and taken it back to my flat.

[ takes a moment to process the Midgardian slang before speaking ]

And if I'd not been accepting of company?

I'd buy you another beer. [He answered with a wide grin.] Come on, you can't say you chose a bar like this solitude.

[finally shifts in his stool to properly face the other, crossing his legs]

If I didn't know better, I might say you were propositioning me.

[Lindsey snorted and gave the guy an eye over, then turning, he leaned on the bar and propped his elbow on the counter.]

Or maybe I am. Maybe I see here's another lonely guy like me and thinking, he looks like he could use a bit of cheering up.

A bit of "cheering up"... [ Loki laughs quietly, turning back to his drink, suddenly overwhelmed by the despair that sweeps over him. ] I could use a bit of that, I suppose, however unlikely success may be. But you... You can't be here without something on your mind as well.

[Lindsey shrugs a bit and hides his face behind a drink of his beer.] Came here to forget my problems.

Drinking them away, hm? How familiar.

Old tried way that works. [He raises his but found he didn't really want to drink it.]

It's when you've discovered that everything you've worked for is given to some guy who doesn't deserve any of it... It just...

[goes very, very still, voice carefully blank]

[Having no idea his companion was reacting, Lindsey goes on, still not looking up from his beer.]

And he goes on to call himself the hero! Who even calls themselves that nowadays? It's hypocritical bullshit.

[He finally looks up.] I want to drown myself in alcohol... but I don't think it's gonna work. Heh, I'll nee a barrel of this stuff to drown out all that.

Perhaps something a little stronger would help.

[He calls for the bartender to give them a bottle of whiskey and lays down the bills to back it up.]
