THE FLOWER MEME

your character is walking through a strange garden for some reason - don't the flowers smell lovely? or maybe they don't. strangely enough, whether you mean for them to or not, these flowers and plants seem to have something strange about them...something that's affecting you.

leave a comment with your character's name and canon, as well as any preferences you may or may not have.
repliers roll the RNG from 1-20, or pick a number below to decide how your character has been affected by the flowers! whether they are still at the garden, or whether the effects of the flowers have lasted on them throughout their day are up to you.
whether both the tagger and the tag-ee would both like to roll is up to you both as well.

⑽ Edelweiss (Daring) ~you're feeling daring today-- maybe you'll do a bit of singing, or finally confess? the possibilities are endless.

⑾ Ice Plant (Your looks freeze me) ~whoever this person is, they're making you tongue-tied and nervous. it's hard to express how you really feel.

⑿ Azalea (Fragile passion) ~you want them. but you also want to be careful- treating them like glass is on your mind.

⒅ Oleander (Caution; beware) ~you're feeling a little...dangerous today. people would do well to stay away-- or maybe they'd like a little danger? either way you're not to eager to let them go any time soon.

⒆ Dandelion (Wishes come true) ~how'd this little weed get in here? it's nice to see something have such a will to live, even in the cracks of the cobblestone...maybe it'll share its good luck with you? you can have anything you'd like today! you can consider this the wild card option as well to pick anything you'd like from the list (or anything not on the list!).

⒇ Wait what? (???) ~did that plant...move? it seems pretty affectionate...

[the flowers are still new to ariel. they had been in the ocean, of course, but never like this. the light hadn't shone on them in the way that enchants her now, they hadn't overwhelmed her with sweet smells. as ariel walks, her head turns this way and that without warning, taking in so much in such a small space.

the bright pink blossoms grab her attention immediately, and she hurries over to them with a ringing laugh. pulling one from the bush, she tucks it into her bright red hair and does a happy twirl to accompany with it.

and an idea sparks in her mind. she extends a hand to killian.]

Come here!

[he spares her an amused glance from where he is bartering for some supplies and shakes his head]

Not now, love. I'm a bit busy. [his next glance is admiring] The flowers look good on you, by the way.

They'll still be there in a moment, won't they? [politeness? what's that? she's impatiently bouncing from one foot to the other now, unable to contain the urge.

ariel grins at the compliment before she's off twirling again. and dancing - if one can call it that. it's really more of a graceful flailing. she has to learn somehow.]

[while the street vendor is distracted by one of his men, killian helps himself to the man's coin pouch and chuckles at her words] Such impatience. [and he looks up, again, because it's hard not to be drawn in by her energy] Life in your world must have been very easy for you to be this carefree.

[maybe she should ease up on the graceful flailing because it looks like it will tumble her into a pile of vegetable baskets.]

[nope, a quick step to the right keeps her from doing just that. with a huff, she skips her way over to killian and nudges him with her shoulder.]

And what's wrong with that?

Nothing, of course. [except that it's an effective distraction from his work. he grabs her waist when she bumps against him, wrapping both arms around her to keep her from getting away.] Keep this up and I might have to leave you on the ship next time.

What?! [and she looks utterly distraught at that, shoulders slumping even as she leans against him. she still frowns, almost exaggerated, as she realizes he might be joking.] Who says I wouldn't sneak off?

Would you? [he looks quite serious as he maneuvers them both to the open square that is lively with other people dancing.] Even if I asked you nicely to stay put?

Maybe. Why stay on the ship when there's so much to see out here? [she slips out of the hold of his arm to grab his hand when she sees the other dancers. see, she did get what she wanted.]

[he allows her to pull him into the circle, but twirls her back into his arms at the last second.]

I keep all my precious treasures on my ship [he is holding her from behind, murmuring into her ear] but I think I can make an exception this time. There aren't many dances a one-handed pirate can do, though. Any suggestions?

[she's grinning from ear to ear, but still considers the question, and tilts her head back as she answers him. and then, as though it's the most obvious thing in the world:]

We'll make one up!

[duh, killian. feet are the most important part of dancing, anyway, and he's got those. everything's good.]

[of course she'd say that. but Killian would rather find excuses to hold her.]

Okay. How about this? [he sounds lazy as his arms tighten around her, rocking them both to the sound of the music.]

[considering it, she wriggles in his hold until she manages to turn herself around and drape her arms around his neck.]

That's better.

[perhaps not as jovial as she'd been expecting, but nothing wrong with that either. still, she can't help it. somehow she winds up guiding them until they wind up moving in a tight circle as they sway.]
