What could they possibly want at this hour? Is it important? Stupid? Are they drunk or maybe just needy? Do they need help hiding a body??? Pick up your phone and find out! [ He calls her once, twice, a couple of times in the day but she never responds. By the time it's late in the night, he's come to terms that she's either ignoring his calls or just awful at picking up the damn thing.

So he settles on speaking out a message, all out of any other options aside from just showing up at her place. ]

I didn't make you set an alert on your phone because I trusted you.
You have a court date tomorrow.
We were supposed to meet and discuss it today.

You forgot.

[ perhaps she should act more responsible. or at least try to not end up in jail. unfortunately, jessica jones has never cared much for self-preservation. by the time she receives his text messages, jess is already into her fifth bottle of bourbon for the night. ]

[ He's not surprised. And even though he hears the message spoken in a robotic tone, he can somehow still imagine Jess' apathetic voice ringing in his head. ]
