It happens to everyone - sometimes, you have nights where you just can't fall asleep, no matter what you do. It could be for a number of reasons, or no reason at all. And this is what's happened now: you've been laying in bed for what feels like hours, just tossing and turning, and nothing seems to help. So what's left to do? Get out of bed and go wake someone else up, of course. If you're not getting any sleep, then why should they?
i n s t r u c t i o n s • Post with your character (note the name and fandom in the subject). • Other people reply to you by generating a number from 1 to 10. • Have fun!
o p t i o n s 01 • FEAR. Maybe you're hearing strange, indeterminable noises; maybe there's a severe storm happening outside; maybe you watched a scary movie before bed? Whatever the reason, you're terrified and it's keeping you awake. You just want to wake someone else up so they can protect you from the monster in your closet. 02 • HUNGER. Your stomach is growling and it just won't stop. Or perhaps your throat is so dry you could cough up a tumbleweed? Well, you've gone to the kitchen to remedy this and hey, that was a pan that just dropped on the floor. It was loud enough to wake the dead! Oops. 03 • PAIN. Your body is completely worn out, be it from exercise, battle, sickness, or what have you. Either way you're in enough pain to keep you from sleeping, so maybe someone else has a home remedy or something, or can at least help you take your mind off of it. 04 • SOLITUDE. For some reason, your bed just feels so empty at the moment. You're feeling terribly lonely and really just want someone to keep you company for a while. Maybe it'd be easier to fall asleep if you're with them... 05 • DISCOMFORT. Your room is an oven. Either that or a freezer. Or maybe this bed is just really uncomfortable? Who knows why you can't get to sleep, it feels like it could be anything. Why even bother trying? Maybe someone else can preoccupy you until you feel tired enough to ignore your discomfort. 06 • PENSIVE. Something's on your mind, and no matter how hard you try to focus elsewhere, it's just not going to work. Your body may be tired, but your mind is incredibly busy and it's virtually impossible to get to sleep. Surely, talking it out with someone else will help? 07 • SADNESS. Something terrible has happened that day, perhaps; or you could just be severely depressed. Either way you're trying your hardest not to cry yourself to sleep, and it's not working at all. Better find a way to get it out of your system somehow; you need a shoulder to cry on. 08 • ANGER. You are just... fuming. Who knows why - that annoying dog is barking again, or maybe the people next door are getting busy and keeping you awake. Whatever the reason for your ire is, you'd better put an end to it so you can get some damn rest already! Go wake up a friend so you can complain to them. 09 • RESTLESS. You're far too energetic to sleep right now. Maybe you're just trying to do so out of necessity - you have to be up early tomorrow! But you just don't think you'll be able to fall asleep for a while now, so why waste the time trying to sleep when you could be doing something else? Namely bothering someone else - you're totally jealous because they're getting more sleep than you. 10 • WILDCARD. Choose one of the options above, or make up your own scenario. |
Isaac Lahey || Teen Wolf
10
So yeah, he got why Isaac didn't always sleep well. Usually, Stiles would just crash out next to him, but tonight, he was struggling to stay up with him, head nodding slightly to the side as he pushed himself up agains the headboard.
Well, at least there wasn't school tomorrow.
"Want to play video games? Watch a movie? Or just...chill." He didn't care what they did, just whatever Isaac wanted to do to take his mind off things.

But then other nights, most nights, ones like tonight, sleep just refused to come to him.
And so he had propped himself up against the headboard, Stiles tucked against his shoulder and a hand running up and down the boy's bare arm. "You don't have to stay awake, you know? You can sleep. I don't mind." He pressed a soft kiss to Stiles' temple. "But if you want to stay up, talking is good."
no subject
At least, hopefully. He had once, tried to stay up, and ended up falling asleep mid sentence apparently (and maybe drooled on Isaac a bit), but hey, this time he was determined to win the battle.
Shifting slightly, he nuzzled up to Isaac's side, looking up at him. "Anything in particular keeping you up tonight?"
no subject
Isaac didn't hold a lot of hope that Stiles would make all night, but the fact that he was trying was enough for him.
He tightens his hold on his mate, pulling him closer. "I don't know. I usually don't. I just... can't sleep. It's weird. I used to think it was because I was scared. Y'know, of my dad? But... It started before that. Before he... Just, before."
no subject
"...what about before your brother?" He wondered if that was when everything fell apart--when his brother died.
no subject
"Honestly, I don't know when it started, it's just sort of always been, you know? Like, it's a part of me."
no subject
"...yeah. Like my hyperactivity." Stiles snorted, giving a wry grin. "But we'll grow out of it eventually." Hopefully--he didn't want to always be a ball of nerves, and he didn't want Isaac to be a nocturnal creature.
no subject
"I hope you're right. I don't want to be keeping you up for the rest of our lives." It wasn't something they'd discussed, but Stiles was smart, he'd researched and spoken to Derek and he knew that Isaac was in this for life.
no subject
Making a small non-commital noise at Isaac's comments, he nodded. Sometimes it freaked him out, a bit, to know that he had randomly fallen into this, but really...those times were few and far between. His dad had met his mother in high school, and he had planned on sticking with Lydia for life (had she ever given him attention)...so this? Wasn't that far fetched. When Stiles committed, it was for the long haul. "Well if it keeps up, I'll just make you sleep on the couch."
no subject
It was a big deal when you were 16 to know that the person you were in love with would be the only person you ever loved that way. There were occasions when even Isaac had momentary freak outs. But then he would see Stiles and everything felt better, safer and more like home and he no longer worried. Stiles, being human, didn't have the same instincts and sometimes Isaac wished the boy could be a wolf, even just for a day, just to experience those feelings. "What? Won't there be a spare room with a bed?"
no subject
Thing was, Stiles was content on being just human. It sucked, and yeah, sometimes he broke, and he became frustrated, and hated just being 'normal'...but he didn't want it. Not now, and maybe not ever. Besides, there was no telling he'd even survive. Not that he wasn't a badass, but something told Stiles he was just too human for it.
"Oh I'm sure there is, but I'd rather the couch for dramatic effect." Stiles laughed, giving a wide grin. "Or maybe we could get you a literal doghouse."
no subject
Isaac had no problem with Stiles remaining human. All he, and his wolf, wanted was fir Stiles to be happy, and both sides of him knew that he wouldn't be if he were forced to take the bite.
That wasn't to say that Isaac didn't want to discuss what they would do given a life or death situation. But that was a conversation for another time. "Would you really put me in an actual kennel? Really? That kinda hurts Stilinski."

"...oh you like that, huh? Good for that possessive streak in you?"
no subject
"Think you look better with my marks all over you. Particularly here." He presses to a spot high up on Stiles' neck.
no subject
"Mmm...the ones that my dad gets all flushed about and tries to pretend not to notice?" He didn't mind the marks, really--but having the school know his entire sexual escapades was definitely something he was still getting used to.

ooc: off to shower! brb!
no subject
"Shame they don't stay on you." Stiles wished for just once they wouldn't disappear within an hour.
no subject
"Could always ask Derek if there's a way."Stiles wasn't the only one who wanted them to stick.
no subject
Stiles yawned, shifting to straddle Isaac's lap, pulling him into a slow kiss. "Guess you're still not tired yet, huh?"
no subject
At the question, he offers a small smile. "No, I'm tired. I just... Can't sleep." His hand slide up Stiles' back under his shirt, pulling him closer and kissing back, letting the human set the pace.
