two truths & a lie

The game is simple, really. Two truths, one lie. Can anyone guess which one is which?
» POST with your muse and their two truths and one lie.
» RESPOND to others guessing which is which.
» HAVE FUN calling people out!
The setting is up to you, it can be at a party(

Rose | Tales of Zestiria
2. At one time I was engaged to a prince.
3. My cooking is excellent.
no subject
I'm calling absolute bullshite on that second one.
[ Sorry Rose but you hardly seem like the type to get engaged to royalty. ]
no subject
Joke's on you then, because Prince Konan of Rolance did indeed ask me to marry him.
no subject
[ Said in the flattest, most sarcastic tone ever. Rose being a princess? Seriously? ]
You don't strike me as the royalty type, Shopkeep. Not with the whole assassin business you're keeping up with.
no subject
[So her table manners have gotten a bit... lackluster over the years. It comes with the territory of leading a wandering lifestyle.]
If you really wanna know, I picked up my second job after he was out of the picture, okay?
no subject
Is that so? And hardly a coincidence, I would assume.
[ Lucky for you, Rose, she's not going to pry. Because as curious as she is, she's also not foolish enough to pick on anyone who Dezel is that attached to. She already got hell from him for teasing him about his outfit. ]
You picked one hell of an occupational shift, didn't you?
no subject
Mmm... Maybe. What can I say? I'm a girl of many talents. And when I see a mess, I get the urge to clean it up.
[If you catch her drift. There's a lot of filth in places most people can't touch; all she's doing is giving them a little more reach.]

[ Gridania might not seem like it at first, but Merisia knows better. One of the perks of being an adventurer is that people often come to you for help when things are going poorly, so she often has a perfect excuse to teaching people well-deserved lessons for anything from minor insults to swindling to threats of violence.
...nevermind the fact that Merisia is a former bandit who still picks pockets every so often, ahahaha]You sure make it sound noble enough. What a pity that not everyone takes too kindly to a bit of housekeeping.
no subject
[You hear that, Meri? If you're ever in a bind, Rose'll help you out. Free of charge, even! There's not too many people she trusts with the knowledge of her guild's double life, so that entitles you to special perks.]
So what about you? Got any fun truths and lies you want to share?
no subject
[ Merisia can take care of herself, honest. Arcanists may be dps but they're totally great at soloing, okay
And of course, it would come to Rose asking Merisia to share something herself. Merisia is a little taken aback at first, as she's not exactly the type to divulge secrets or anything, but...well, fair's fair and all that rot. ]
Well, if you insist...
1. I can understand any spoken language. Any.
2. I sew and repair clothing as both a hobby and a sidejob.
3. I met my mentor when he caught me stealing from a jewelry stand.
no subject
Hmm... Honestly, number two sounds out of place, but I can't believe the first is possible. Sooooo... Number one!
no subject
Nice try, Shopkeep, but that one's true.
[ She's not so keen on sharing the rest of what the Echo does, but this tidbit is relatively safe to share among acquaintances.
As long as they aren't Garleans, that is.]no subject
Oh come on! That's gotta be total crap! How can anyone understand every language out there?!
[Seriously. Even discounting different sentence structures and whatnot, there's bound to be obscure languages that only a handful of people know. So unless Merisia is some kind of language professor, she's calling bull!]
no subject
Alright, I'll prove it.
If you know any word or phrase or sentence in another language, say it as if you were communicating with me in that tongue.
[ Assuming Rose actually knows anything, that is, though even a single word will work.
This is going to be good. ]
no subject
[Them it occurs to her that she does know a few words in the ancient tongue - her and Sorey needed to know the seraphim's true names to armatize. So she spits out the first one that comes to mind:]
Lukeim Yurlin!
[...if Dezel ever finds out she uttered his name to Merisia of all people, he'll kill her for sure.]
no subject
Dezel with Unclouded Eyes.
Honestly, Rose, you could've given me something more interesting than that.
no subject
Huh. How about Wilkis Wilk?
[Her ever so wonderful true name that Sorey graced her with. It says a lot about them both, really.]
no subject
"Rose is Rose?" I thought you were going to get more creative, not less.
...but I suppose it's fitting. [ Yeah, sorry, she couldn't resist. ]
no subject
Don't look at me! That one's all on Sorey, and in his defense it was a pressing situation. Can't say it doesn't suit me, though.
[After a moment to decide which to go with next, she adds:]
Hephsin Yulin?
no subject
Early-bloomer Edna.
[ Geez, Rose, are titles the only thing you know? You're a merchant, surely you've picked up something! ...though she really has to wonder how Edna picked up that name, to be quite honest. ]
Are you sure it's a good idea to be spouting off all of their true names like this? I think I've proven my point by now.
no subject
[Yeeeah, she did indeed get so wrapped up in having fun with Merisia's ability that she forgot how personal a seraph's true name is. How can she not when there's all kinds of potential money-making power behind such a skill? Maybe not on Glenwood, but probably damn near anywhere else!]
Or at least you've proven you know one language. But I guess there's no way for me to check any others.
no subject
Of course their isn't. I said I could understand them, not speak them. It's a little complicated.
...and for the record, I'd appreciate if you didn't go about telling everyone about this. As handy as it is, I'd rather not have people hunt me down over it.
[ Being taken advantage of? Or even someone having fun with it, like Rose? Honestly it's the least of her worries. But back home, not everyone sees the Echo as a good thing. Whether or not things have changed since the Calamity is up for debate, but Merisia takes no chances. ]
