THE ▼VAMPIRE▼ MEME

Vampires are appealing creatures. They can be dark, mysterious, sexy, or just downright violent. They can even be hunky and sparkly in the sun! Vampires come in so many different varieties, it's hard to choose just one type. Whatever your brand of vampire, it's just hard to resist the draw of one of the oldest, most unsettling figures in horror to date.
So why not try your hand at playing one yourself? Or offer your character up for bait if you're more inclined to do so.
- Post your characters.Name/Series/Preferences in the subject field as usual along with whether your character is a vampire, outsider, or hunter(Unless you'd like to roll for individual threads!).
- Others respond after going to RNG.Roll 1-3 for what your character is and then1-3 again for what type (if you desire).
- Choose or roll for a scenario. You could make up your own after you roll for what your character's role will be if you want!
- Have fun!
Vampires
1 - Sire
You're old enough to have created vampires of your own. Maybe one, maybe many, but they're all special to you in their own way.
2 - Sired
You were once normal, human, but then you were changed into something more. Do you thank your creator or hate them for changing you into a monster?
3 - n/a
Your creator is neither here nor there at the moment. You're just a vampire on the hunt or trying to fit in.
Outsider
1 - Victim
You're a victim, someone to drain and leave behind. Maybe they'll take pity on you and allow you to join, be one of them.
2 - Willing
You've got the hots for vampires or just a morbid fascination. You're willing to let them drink from you and maybe so much more.
3 - Pawn
You're being controlled somehow by a vampire. Mind control, blackmail, whatever.
Hunter
1 - Born
You come from a long line of vampire hunters.
2 - Moral Objection
Vampires are abominations that deserve to be wiped off the face of the planet.
3 - Vengeance
A vampire took someone dear from you or possibly made you into one of them. All you can think about is getting vengeance.
Gen
1 - hunted prey.
You're starving tonight and you're out scoping for just the right nighttime snack.
2 - newly made.
You're a newly made vampire or you've encountered someone who's recently been changed. How do you deal?
3 - mind control.
Some vampires have the ability to control humans' thoughts or actions and tonight is the night you have to do it.
4 - overpopulated.
Vampires have taken over the world and now humans are treated like livestock or pets that you can feed off of when you feel like it. Not all vampires think this is cool though...
5 - injured.
Not a lot can injure a vampire but there are those that will drain them for their blood or those that hunt them and know tricks that actually leave a mark. Do you help them? Or if you're the one injured, do you seek help?
6 - unaccepted.
You were changed or you've met someone who was once dear to you and changed... you're not sure how to accept them.
7 - close call.
It's too close to sunrise and you have got to find refuge with someone.
8 - player's choice.
For anything that's been missed!
Violent
1 - trail of bodies.
Humans are nothing but food and you've gone on a spree lately.
2 - hunted.
You're being hunted or you're hunting.
3 - outnumbered.
A bar or a club full of vampires doesn't bode well for humans...
4 - ravenous.
You've been starved or drained and you're going after the first person you see or you've stumbled across an extremely hungry vampire.
5 - entitled.
You're entitled to this person's blood, whether they want to give it or not.
6 - self-defense.
You have to defend yourself from those that want to hurt you.
7 - vengeance.
Someone is after vengeance...
8 - player's choice.
For anything that's been missed!
Romantic
1 - real love.
You know this is real, even if the other person is reluctant. Maybe it's not even a worry between you two and you just feel like being together.
2 - confession.
It might not be the smartest idea, but you need to tell this vampire or human exactly how you feel for them.
3 - forever.
It's time to make your lover into some a vampire or maybe it's time to ask your vampire lover to do it for you.
4 - making it work.
There are obviously some problems, but you're going to overcome them.
5 - forbidden.
Either no one can know about what you're doing or you just receive dirty looks for doing it.
6 - not exactly normal.
Your attraction might not be normal or the circumstances surrounding your relationship might not be and it's time to discuss if you have a future or you're just kidding yourselves.
7 - defense.
Someone hurt your lover and now they have to pay.
8 - player's choice.
For anything that's been missed!
Smut
1 - blood offering.
There's nothing like a vampire feeding on you that gets you in the mood more. You offer them your blood in exchange for something else.
2 - coerced.
Some vampires have mind control capabilities and some have blood that's like a drug that will make you crave more.
3 - no sex better than vampire sex.
You're both vampires or one of you is dead set on becoming on tonight and you'll do anything to convince your lover it's time.
4 - pet.
Similar to another option except that a 'pet 'entails so much more than being treated like livestock or cattle.
5 - touched the monster's heart.
You're actually in love with each other even though you weren't sure it was possible. You just want to make love and show your vampire how you feel.
6 - so much stronger.
The human or weaker vampire might not want it, but thankfully you're strong enough to take whatever you want from them.
7 - mine.
It's time to claim what is rightfully yours and make sure they know it.
8 - player's choice.
For anything that's been missed!

Alec Lightwood - TMI/Shadowhunters | OTA
no subject
The fact of the matter was that her brother was a vampire now. It was all said and done, and over with. Isabelle knew her older brother. She might not have been his parabatai; she didn't have the bond with him that Jace had, but she knew her older brother. She could imagine what he was going through, even if she couldn't feel it, and she didn't know for sure.
Alec was now, technically, a downworlder.
That didn't change the way that Izzy felt about her older brother. Nothing could change that for her, no matter what was said about him by members of the Clave, their parents, or anybody else. The middle Lightwood sibling would never pull away from her brother, no matter what. He needed somebody and she knew it, no matter what he was...shadowhunter, vampire, or whatever. She cared too much to just cut him out of her life. She couldn't fathom the thought.
So, that was why she stood where she did now...in front of her brother the Clave, their parents, and any and everyone else be damned. Her heels clicked slightly as she took several steps to approach him, a soft look written on her face. "Hey, big brother." The shadowhunter managed a slight smile, hoping that he wouldn't run her off, chaser her out, or even kick her out because he wasn't ready to talk. She knew he was going through a lot and she didn't want to leave him alone to deal with everything all on his own.
"Are you ready to talk?"

At least that's what Maryse had said, right before she'd called him a selfish monster.
Yes, Alec knew what he was supposed to do once he was actually aware of who he was and what he'd been. Once the hunger had been sated and he'd been rational, he should have staked himself or let himself burn. If Jace had been a proper parabatai, he should have killed him before Izzy had decided to make him an 'abomination'. Except Jace had been a wreck from losing the bond and it would take time for him to realize that nothing had really changed except the rune that had disappeared along with the rest of the marks that had decorated Alec's skin. They'd be okay even after this...
Izzy was the one Alec worried over. She was the main reason he had ignored their parents accusations and the hostile words of the Clave. He was not going to make this any harder for her when he would have done the same if she had been the one that Camille had drained.
Looking up long before she came into sight - vampire hearing had its advantages - Alec turned away from his packing to smile at his sister. His fangs caught on his lip, causing him to scowl. Great, he couldn't even smile without messing it up. Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair, causing it to stand up at odd angles. "That depends on what you want to talk about, Iz. If you're going to tell me I have to start dressing like Raphael, the answer is no."

She wasn't losing him. She just couldn't. He was still here, and even if he wasn't alive, she still had him and that was the most important part. She had tried to explain that to their parents, but sometimes it was like talking to a brick wall. Even Izzy could only perform small miracles.
"I think we can work up to that. Give me a bit and I'll have you dressing better than Raphael." Izzy boasted; it was both the truth and yet a joke. It didn't matter what Alec wore. That was the least of his, of their, worries at the moment. Shuffling a bit closer, Izzy's heels gave slight clacks against the floor, her eyes going over everything from what Alec had been in the midst of packing to his newly ruffled hair. "I just...I wanted to see how you're doing. To make sure you know I'm here for you if you need to talk or anything."
One of her biggest worries was Alec feeling as if he had lost everything, and she wanted to be sure that he never felt abandoned by her. Alce might have ever been the person who jumped to share his feelings, but just coming forward like this....it was Izzy's way of showing that she wasn't going anywhere. He needed to know that. Period. Even if he already did.
"I, also, am a genius at packing, for the record."

"Was I supposed to get some new fashion sense when I became a vampire? Simon's dressing better now." He was also wearing Raphael's clothes, a situation that Alec hadn't quite figured out yet since Simon seemed to be pining for Clary while being completely enthralled by Izzy. It was none of his business as long as he wasn't expected to be a part of whatever weird thing was going on between the vampires.
Noticing how Izzy's gaze kept darting around the room, he let out a sigh. "You can look at me. It's not that bad. It takes awhile to get used to not having marks but I'm still the same." He hoped. So far he hadn't felt like the crazed monster that Mundanes wrote stories about. Food - drink? - would become a problem eventually but he'd deal with that eventually.
Taking her hand, he led her to the bed, gently pushing her so that she'd sit down so he could kneel down beside her. "I don't know how I'm doing," he answered honestly. "It's - there's parts I don't want to talk about yet." Like what Camille had done but there were other subjects that he felt more comfortable with. "I'm not ready to but others... I'm not going to let this change me. Not in the ways that matter. I'm still your brother no matter what Maryse and Robert say."
That was a subject they'd have to deal with someday. Preferably when he wasn't in the Institute. It was difficult not to be paranoid when Maryse kept looking at him like he was something disgusting that had crawled into her home. "I wasn't really thinking of how to pack. I just wanted to get done before someone decides I shouldn't be here."
no subject
She knew that he'd be okay, or at least she kept telling herself that; he would figure things out, he had to.
"Simon is borrowing clothes and listening to my occasional advice. You don't just grow a new area in the brain once you've turned." Izzy elaborated, a tease of her own, and yet the truth. "Which means that you, too, can dress better if you listen to your sister." Fashion advice came for free to those that Izzy cared about, after all. She loved Alec just the way that he was, though, no matter how many times she picked at him about his sense of fashion, or anything else.
"I know you're the same." The younger sibling spoke, quickly, not wanting to make her brother self conscious. It was strange, though, seeing him with absolutely no runes. It was like he was a new person, and in truth....even if what was inside didn't change drastically, he sort of was. Letting her brother lead her over to the bed, the petite shadowhunter took a seat, furrowing her brows as she studied her brother...the vampire. She wanted to be able to fix everything for him, but knowing she couldn't...well, it sucked.
"You don't have to talk about anything until you're ready." Izzy stated, firmly. "When you are, though, I am always available." Pushy as she could be, Isabelle knew that she couldn't make her brother tell her anything. It had to be on his own time. And not only that but he had a lot to process; that was just the fact of the matter after something traumatic and life-altering. A small smile pulled at the corner of her red lips as Izzy reached out to squeeze Alec's shoulder. "I have faith that you won't let it change you, and I'm always your sister. You're not getting rid of me either. So, they'll just have to deal with their disappointments."
She had defied their parents before, and she'd be happy to do it again and to remain a disappointment to the Lightwood line if it meant being true to herself and doing what was right. That didn't make it easy. Nothing worthwhile ever seemed to come easy. "The nice thing about when you're an expert is you pack quickly and efficiently, Alec." Izzy pointed out, though, she understood where he was coming from.
However, she wasn't going to let anyone decide that while he was packing. If someone wanted to try anything they'd have to go through her first.

Which made things easier in a way. He could stay with Magnus while the vampires tried to decide what to do with an ex-Shadowhunter. He had the feeling that Raphael would make up some silly title for him so that he could stay away from the Hotel officially.
Arching an eyebrow at the comment about Simon's new wardrobe, it was obvious that he didn't quite believe that things were that simple with Simon. "According to those Mundie books it does," he teased gently. "At least I'm not going to sparkle even if Magnus might like that idea." Hopefully Magnus wouldn't freak more than he had initially when he'd learned what happened... "There is nothing wrong with how I dress. It's practical." Except was he allowed to dress like a Shadowhunter now? It wouldn't surprise him if they took away his gear since they'd already taken his weapons.
Couldn't have the 'dangerous' Downworlder armed... At least Magnus had promised to get him a bow that would supposedly be better than any created for a Nephilim.
Realizing that he was lost in thoughts he didn't want to have around Izzy, he forced himself to simile. "Thank you, Izzy." Knowing that she wouldn't push meant more to Alec than he could ever explain. "Eventually, maybe, it's not really something I want you to know about." He knew he was being too honest but he didn't want her hurt because he didn't want to talk about that night to anyone. "I know better than to even think of getting rid of you."
For a moment, he stared down at his arm, still surprised that his angelic rune was gone. "I thought that maybe they'd..." Change their minds about hating Downworlders? Love him enough to see past the fangs and aversion to sunlight? "You might become the favorite now." It was meant to be a joke but he knew it fell flat.
"There's not that much to pack," he protested. The important things had already been carefully bundled up, protected by layers of ratty sweaters or magicked away by Magnus. "This really isn't my life anymore." Too honest but that was how it felt now.

As long as Alec was safe and taken care of, that was all that mattered to Izzy. She didn't care about vampire affairs beyond that. Alec hadn't before, she was sure, but now....things were different.
With a snort, the younger sibling couldn't help the roll of her eyes. The Mundie books had it wrong, that was for sure. There wasn't a Casanova protein when one was bitten by a vampire; if anybody knew that it was her, though, she hadn't exclusively studied vampires. "It is a tragedy that you're not going to sparkle." Izzy commented, mildly. "It would have been a sight." She added on, a smile pulling at her mouth before giving a noncommittal shrug. "I didn't say that there was anything wrong with how you dressed, you brought it up. Maybe the Mundies had i a little right. Though even if they did, you're stubborn enough not to conform when it comes to fashion." Definitely a joke.
It was better to joke than to cry and lament the situation, right? If Izzy had her way nothing would change and Alec would stay right where he was, but that wasn't the way of the world, unfortunately. That didn't mean she was any less upset about it. She didn't feel prepared for Alec to be gone. Looking up as her brother spoke, after his pause, Izzy forced a nod. "I respect that, but it doesn't mean I have to like it." She spoke, earnestly, glad that Alec wasn't just...pulling away completely. "Good, don't ever change that or I might have to kick your ass." Could she? She wasn't sure, maybe, but she wasn't quite serious about the threat.
It made Izzy angry that Robert and Maryse could turn hatred onto their firstborn son. He was family, no matter what happened. "I know." Izzy mumbled, not sure if she wanted him to know that she too had harbored hopes that their parents might change who they were. Scoffing, though, the young woman shook her head. "I'm not holding my breath on that one." Izzy shifted in her seat, surveying the room again.
He really didn't have much, and it seemed such a pity that her brother's life here....had been packed up and was already almost gone from this place. She didn't quite know what to say because he was right, even if it wasn't what she wanted to be true. So, she didn't stand, instead, looking at her brother. "You're right, I just...wanted to help before you left." Izzy admitted; it was difficult to think of him being gone, and to think this wasn't his life anymore, but he was right.

She'd told him in detail how she expected changing him to spark a war between the Nephilim and Downworlders. Even if it didn't, she assumed that the act would ruin everything with Magnus. She hadn't realized that Magnus' feelings for him weren't based on Alec being a Shadowhunter. "Luke's trying to get me accepted by the pack like he has with Simon." It was a start. Maybe he could finally make up for the things his family had done in the past and do it for the right reasons.
"Yes, it is," he answered solemnly, eyes beginning to brighten with humor. "Think of how popular I'd be at Magnus' parties if I sparkled without glitter. Except I might outshine you." Reaching up, he tugged gently on Izzy's hair like he had when they were kids. "I know you didn't. And I know you're going to help me not look like an idiot when I go out with Magnus or play those stupid, political games with Raphael."
Sighing, he moved closer to give her a slightly awkward hug. "I'll talk to someone, Iz, I promise. Simon offered since he knows what she was like." It wouldn't be a good conversation for either one of them but they both probably needed to talk to someone who had seen that side of Camille. Magnus knew, but Alec wasn't going to discuss that with his boyfriend since he blamed himself for what happened.
"Robert might change his mind eventually. If one of us can get him alone to talk to him." Izzy might be able to convince him to talk to Alec away from the Institute and the Clave's influence. "I think Maryse is a lost cause." Better to get that out in the open so Izzy didn't beat herself up because she couldn't get their mother to see that he hadn't really changed in any important way.
Tugging her hair again, Alec brought her attention back to him. "This hasn't been my life since the wedding. I stopped being their dutiful son." When Maryse had confronted him about Magnus, he'd said that nothing had changed but that hadn't been completely true. Since that moment he had been changing, becoming someone better. Or someone he hoped would be better. "Technically, we don't have to be separated. Magnus has a couple spare bedrooms. He said that if you and Jace want to stay a few days..."
no subject
Maybe Alec's new life would lead him to making changes that needed be made between shadowhunters and downworlders. Izzy knew well enough just how many things needed to change; the views of the Clave, in particular, were antiquated. "That's definitely a start." Izzy nodded; the connection with the werewolves had certainly come in handy already and it likely would again.
"You're worried about popularity now...maybe I need to do a little more research about the brain in transition." The younger sibling teased with a bit of a laugh, watching Alec tug on a lock of her hair, but not hollering or getting annoyed like she had when she was younger. Alec was Alec no matter what. She just had to remember that. She wasn't losing her brother, that ship had sailed, luckily. "And I'll be there when you decide you actually want me to dump glitter on you because you want to sparkle and be popular." Izzy joked before hugging Alec back.
He might have been awkward about it, but she didn't care. It was the thought that counted, and she was more than comfortable enough with hugging for the both of them. Her nod was the sign that she heard his promise. She definitely accepted him at face value for his words; Alec didn't lie when he made a promise, not to someone like her. He'd do it in his own time, but that was fine with her, as long as he didn't try to be an island unto himself.
"I'll work on him." Izzy promised, hoping that the soft spot their father had would work to their side of things, her mouth turning down into a frown at the thought of the woman they called mother. "And her too, but I won't hold my breath." Isabelle had been working on their mother for some time, and had yet to make much headway; she was the trouble child already, so she knew better than to get her hopes up too much.
Eyes zeroing in on the taller, older sibling Izzy couldn't help but sigh. She hated it when Alec was right, sometimes. But he was right. "I know, but...we went on pretending, anyway." Or at least she had. She'd seen the changes, though. Alec was happier than he'd ever been since he had called off the wedding, and that was all she had ever wanted for him. Maybe that was how he managed to deal with this change....easier than she had anticipated (at least on the surface). "You're pretty talented at sparking change, you know." Izzy accused, though she didn't mean it.
The small smile melted into a laugh at his words, though. The offer had probably been made, but she was sure that it had been more out of obligation and concern than truth...not that she had any issues with Magnus, but still. She couldn't help the words that tumbled out. "Can you honestly say that you want Jace and me to come stay at your boyfriend's home....really?" Izzy asked dryly, not believing that having a trio of Lightwoods was what Magnus, or Alec, really wanted.
no subject
It seemed fitting if they were the ones that did it. All of their parents had been part of the Circle. Then the elder Lightwoods had followed the Clave with desperate fevor, ignoring what was right. Why shouldn't it be the the two of them, Jace, and Clary that help change things?
"Are you sure it's being a vampire or dating Magnus that made me change?" Making a face at the thought of all that glitter, he began to protest then reconsidered. "Maybe for Halloween? Surprise everyone. It'd be worth scrubbing it off for days to see Jace's reaction." He already knew how Magnus would react to the idea but that wasn't something his little sister needed to know about..
For a few seconds Alec could forget that things were different. They weren't the most affectionate of siblings but this was a bit of normalcy that he'd been afraid he'd lose. He knew Izzy wouldn't turn her back on him but he was still a vampire. Some beings, including himself, had a certain unease around them. "I'm not too cold?" he asked gently. It was something he hated thinking about. Usually he wore enough layers that it wasn't noticeable casually but if it bothered Izzy, he could keep his distance.
"I needed to pretend. I wasn't ready. They had to - " Why was talking about their parents so difficult? They'd thrown him out. Their distaste for his life and his preferences had been obvious since the wedding. No since before the wedding or he wouldn't have spent most of his life hiding. "I had to realize I'll never have their approval and I don't need if it I have you, Jace, and Max. Don't work too hard on trying to convince Maryse. I know how much she wears yo down. That's part of the reason why I asked Lydia to marry me."
Rocking back on his heels, he grinned at his sister, unaware that his fangs were obvious again. "Yes, really." The offer probably did seem strange but he'd discussed it thoroughly with Magnus before they decided on the invitation. "And yes, I want you both there if it won't get you in trouble with the Clave." Or their parents. "He suggested it because he thought it'd be easier for me to get used to everything if my family was with me. It's just a few days."
Pausing, he couldn't help grimacing. "I think he'd afraid I'm going to start freaking out and he won't notice it until it's too late. The two of you would notice if I'm acting weird."
no subject
Somehow amidst this change he would, and she would; they'd live up to the name that had done nothing (really) but let them down. So, Izzy gave a firm nod. She was definitely with Alec on this one hundred percent.
"Probably the latter option, really." Izzy grinned, thinking back to the stubborn way that her brother had attempted to avoid Magnus' rather obvious attempts at gaining his attention, and the blatant flirting (in her opinion anyway). "And by probably I mean definitely. He's been a good influence." The younger sibling nodded before a laugh bubbled out of her mouth. "I'd pay to see you covered in glitter, actually." She couldn't help it; glitter was not Alec's thing, so Jace's reaction, at least would be hilarious. She'd get a kick out of it in more than just theory too.
Izzy couldn't boast that she was perfect. Alec wasn't the only one that...had a bit of unease around vampires. She still couldn't see Alec as just a vampire, though. So, Izzy was determined not to let any changes alter things too much for them. "You're not too cold. I don't think you'll ever be too cold for me to steal a hug." She reassured, not willing to even tempt Alec into wanting to protect her from something like that. His body didn't emanate the same warmth that it had before, but he was still Alec and that was the most important thing.
Their parents didn't see that. Izzy did. She was still a little behind Alec, despite everything, when it came to their parents. She hadn't given up yet, despite knowing where they stood; she just hoped she could change things, even if she knew that their history didn't bode well for that. "I won't work too hard on it. I have other things that I need to do more." But it didn't mean she wouldn't still try; it'd only be better for her brother, to have their parents realize how stupid they were being. "And I can handle her. I don't think you can save me with any more proposals from here on out." Izzy teased, smiling a little bit at his fangs. She couldn't hate them; they were a part of him.
And Izzy, quite obviously, would do anything for Alec....even if the idea of staying with her brother and his boyfriend seemed like a bad idea initially. "I'm sure that we can swing it. It doesn't matter where we stay so long as we complete our missions." The Clave...just like their parents only wanted obedience. What they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. "We'll stay and help." Izzy promised, not bothering to think that she needed to actually check with Jace; she was confident that there was no arguing with her whens he'd made her mind up. "I'm sure that Magnus would notice, and that you won't need us, really, but we'll help. We know how weird you are to begin with, so I think there's a point there."
no subject
Laughing softly, he ducked his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "Probably more of an influence than you think." He wasn't going to tell Izzy about the party Magnus had thrown and their experiments with glitter. Some things little sisters just shouldn't know about. "If you tell Magnus that, I'll be sparkling for a week. You know how he is about getting money from Shadowhunters." Especially when he knew how Alec would react to it...
"You tell me if it bothers you," Alec ordered gently. "We're all getting used to this and I'm not going to force you to accept it before you're ready." Izzy seemed ready to deal with it and hadn't ever hesitated when Alec was nearby but there were times when Alec still had trouble dealing with the changes. He wouldn't push things with his siblings just because he wanted them to treat him as they normally had. "I'll remind you of not being too cold after I spend a night patrolling with Jace in the middle of winter."
If anyone could make Robert change his mind, it would be Izzy. Alec had the feeling that their father was just following what the Clave and Maryse said. It was frustrating but it meant that Izzy might have a chance at convincing him to at least talk to Alec. "I don't think I can save you with proposals now. No Shadowhunter is going to want me after I've made out with a warlock in public and got turned."
Alec knew that Izzy didn't agree with Magnus' logic but Alec did want his family nearby. It felt like his whole life was being torn away from him but if two of the people who meant the most to him were nearby it would help ease that pain. Everything else he could cope with but losing Izzy and Jace would break him. "I could go with you on the missions. Unofficially."
Making a face at his sister when she called him weird, Alec tried to tease but his expression quickly turned serious. "Magnus isn't taking this as well as he's pretending. He's blaming himself. But it's just for a few days, until I get used to not being here and Magnus realizes that he didn't destroy my life."
no subject
She wasn't serious, though, her tone didn't convey that. If Magnus wanted to attack her brother with glitter she didn't actually want any part of whatever kinky-ness that was between the two of them. She just enjoyed teasing her brother, and wasn't willing to give that up....even in a serious moment. It, honestly, helped to focus on...lighter, trivial things in moments like this.
"I can already tell you that it wont." Izzy stated firmly, though, she was gentle with her delivery. She wasn't ever going to turn down a hug, or affection, from Alec. She was thankful that he was here, even in this state. "And I've already accepted this, and you. I know that it'll take time to really get used to all of this, but I accept you no matter what." Where their parents faltered, and were unable to budge, Izzy was steadfast and unwavering. She wasn't perfect, but if there was one thing that she always was...it was a beacon of love and acceptance for her brothers in particular. She wouldn't change that, and wasn't going to back down because he was Alec, no matter what, and he was one of the most important people in her life.
Izzy shrugged off his comment about patrolling in the middle of winter, sticking to her guns on this, a smile on her face as she did so, as if up for the challenge of not letting his cold-state get to her...ever; Lightwoods were stubborn, and he knew that well enough already. She just hoped that she was more stubborn than their parents. And if they proved to be more stubborn than it was their loss...because if they didn't make changes...it was damn well possible for them to lose more than just one child if they didn't learn and grow. "I think that's for the best, anyway. I can handle myself, anyway, I'm no damsel."
She meant that, though, it wasn't a way (at all) of saying that she didn't want, or need, her brother around. "I'm sure that you could be pretty helpful on some missions. So, we'll probably take you up on that." Izzy kept her tone light; the idea that he wasn't going to be officially part of their team, of the Shadowhunter world, was strange to consider, but he wasn't anymore. That was going to take some getting used to, even if he could be there in an unofficial capacity.
"Well, we'll have to help him see that it's not, and that blaming himself doesn't get him anywhere." Izzy spoke confidently with a firm nod. "You have us for as long as you need us, whenever you need us, as always."
