Wow it's wet.

1. A fast moving vehicle just zoomed past and now you're soaked!
2. That important thing you were carrying is soaked and ruined! (Added bonus if it’s your friend’s birthday cake.)
3. You're in a really good mood and just feel like singing and dancing in the- oh, you know!
4. It's flooding and you're in a basement right now!
5. You were inside, sensibly, but the power just went out!
6. You need to cross a river somehow and oh shit flooding water!
7. You're out of umbrellas and need to awkwardly share with someone as you slowly walk home!
8. You were waiting it out at Burger King or the closest setting equivalent thereof, but it’s getting late, the storm’s turning even worse, and the store’s about to close!
9. Your associate got stuck out in the rain and now you have to rescue their ass!

Rain in the jungle has a spectacular way of making things not go as planned.

Example: there's a high butte over yonder, with several massive tall trees, and a rope bridge village, and lots of vines, and right about now that's where Vrenille is supposed to be. With his friends, fighting a load of mordrem and trying to keep them all shielded from the creepy-as-fuck jungle dragon that's trying to worm its way into their minds.

But rope bridges and woven reed platforms have this way of getting slippery in the rain, and one wrong step is all it takes to send Vrenille toppling backwards and spinning into free fall down towards the canyon below.

That's inconvenient, sure, but he has a glider, he can catch an updraft, he can get back to them...or so he thought.

What he hasn't counted on is a sudden massive flying blue lion crashing through the trees, seemingly careening half out of control and down towards the same long deep canyon.

Visibility in the rain is poor. Add all the trees and it gets downright awful. Gliders and branches are a bad combination to begin with. Add a robotic lion to the mix and Vrenille's wooden glider frame basically doesn't stand a chance. He thinks he smacked flat into the lion's face on the way down, but by that point everything was such a dizzying mess that just about all he knows for sure is that he's lucky to make it to solid ground with no broken bones.

He's upside down in a bush, half sunk in a mud puddle, and it takes him a good minute to set himself right and struggle out of his broken glider frame, drag the wreckage free, and confirm that it is absolutely beyond salvage or repair.

Well great. What is he supposed to do now? And what the hell was that crazy blue lion thing?
