[OTA, cross canon welcome, happy to play either the sick or the healer]

[Ooops guess who got blown up again. He's in rough shape, but he will survive.]

[ He should get some kind of reward for even physically making it back really. One day Shotaro will get the brownie points he deserves for what he does, but right now his partner is trying to figure out how to diagnose "blown up" as either one big injury or multiple small ones. He is lightly poking things. ]

This bit looks a little burnt.

[He is the worst patient. When he's not trying to ~~run away~~ get up when he shouldn't, he's just whining indiscriminately.

But the answer to that last poke gets a louder groan of pain.]

Honestly, with your brain you should be better at this....

[ He's learning as he goes, alright? Cut him some slack here. He's got his book out and going through the information as quickly as he can. Oh, wait. ]

I need to get something.

[ He comes back with a first aid kit and a bunch of other house hold items. ]

There is a lot of material about injuries, Shoutaro. We should try all of these remedies to see which words best. Would you prefer I start with hydrogen peroxide, antiseptic cream or vinegar?

[ He's rather excitedly looking over all of the items. ]

How about knocking me out first? I don't know if I can take that much experimenting.

[Oh god he's going to kill him.]

[ He's flipping through a few pages now. ]

I don't believe --

[ And a few dozen more pages get flipped. ]

I have the right drugs for that. There is a chapter here on how to achieve the same results with a baseball bat although then I may have to fix a concussion and we would need higher grade medical equipment.

[ He picks up the the bottle of rubbing alcohol. It will burn but at least not as much as the hydrogen peroxide? ]

No! [What a waste of a fedora. Instead he grabbed hold of what he was lying on and braced himself.] Just get it over with.

[ Well, whatever made him happy. He's rolling Shotaro over now, pushing a towel into position and then rolling him back.

Sorry, did that hurt?

And now pouring half the bottle of the rubbing alcohol over all the open wounds he can find. ]

Then I think it said bandages.

[ So he's going to let that rubbing alcohol air dry while he's pulling out the giant sheets of adhesive bandages. He knew buying this in bulk would come in handy. ]

[All the pained groaning and whining while he's being moved around. And he shouts and curses a blue streak with the alcohol.]

I'm never letting you do this again.

[ He raises an eyebrow at the response from him. ]

You show a very different reaction to the detectives I have read about in some of my books.

[ At least he's somewhat more gentle with the bandages. As gentle as a beginning could be anyway, putting them on and then pressing down to doubly make sure they stick.

Then he quietly gets up and leaves for a few minutes before coming back with a large blanket to cover his partner with and a big fluffy pillow. ]

If you say what I think you're going to say I'm going to crawl out of this bed and punch you.

[This was the most excruciating first aid he'd ever had. But finally Philip seemed to be done. He finally is able to relax.]

If you do that you would aggravate your injuries and I would need to apply more first aid.

[ Although that was definitely mentioned more as an observation than anything else. Then he looks over him with a quiet gaze for a moment. ]

Does something still hurt?

[A tired smirk.] I'll be fine once I sleep it off.

[He reaches over to give Philip's leg a squeeze.]

[ He may not ever show it in the most obvious ways but he is definitely concerned for Shotaro's well being. ]

As expected from my half boiled partner.

Hey! [Nope should not have moved.] Ow ow ow!

Ah, see? You've gone and hurt yourself again.

[ He's adjusting the bandages now, actually being a little more gentle for once. Gotta make sure the guy stays alive, Double only works with two people. ]

Next time you'll look before you leap.

[ There's a pause and then a wide smile. ]

That's a good one, right? I learnt that one today.

Yeah... [Philip you're being adorable so he's going to smile a little.] Coming from you, it's a little weird, though.

[ Now that was just confusing. ]

Since I'm the thinker between us, it would definitely be you that this applies better to.

[ We can go either! Can RNG and start and I can go with. ]
