you say "goodbye", & i say "hello, hello, hello".

Goodbyes are inevitable. Maybe someone is moving away, maybe it's that final battle, maybe you can't stand to see this person any longer. They're leaving and this is your final chance to see them, final opportunity to say all those words you've been hiding away.
• Post with your character, name and series in subject

GOODBYE
1. FALLING OUT: You've had a fight. You can't stand to see one and other any more. Let it all out, all that hurt is finally coming to the surface.
2. FORCED SEPARATION: You don't have much time left. Whether you like it or not, this person is being taken away from you - and you won't be seeing them again.
3. DEATH: Whether immediate or impending, this person is going to die. Maybe it's the final battle, maybe it's a terminal illness. They're dying and this is your last chance.
4. MOVING ON: You're graduating. Finished training. Got contracted somewhere far away. Whatever the reason may be, it's time to move on - and it's time to say goodbye.
5. WILDCARD: Make up your own or combine a few! The choice is yours.
I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN
...But goodbyes aren't always forever. Be it fate or some stroke of luck, you're about to be reunited. Maybe it's just a short time later, maybe it's years later - somehow, someway, they're back.
REUNION
1. IN PASSING: Who was that you just passed on the street? Didn't they look awfully familiar?
2. SURPRISE: Someone has just shown up on your doorstep. How long has it been since you've seen that face?
3. IT'S A MIRACLE: They lived. By some stroke of fate, they've lived. Or maybe you're meeting in the afterlife? Whatever the case may be here they are, waiting for you with open arms.
4. LOST & FOUND: Everyone else thought it was impossible; they were dead, lost, gone. But you've never given up hope. Now that you see that face again, it's all worth it.
5. WILDCARD: Make up your own or combine a few! The choice is yours.

reunion - 4 + kind of 5-ish, if that's cool?
When the hunters had finally set their full attention on him - it was his pack who stood by his side. It had been a long, bloody series of battles, a constant back and forth Derek told himself he'd never stop fighting so long as he had life in him. And when they'd all thought the ending was near, that they'd finally be prepared for 'the last stand' of sorts, everything changed.
The Hunters had turned the tables entirely one stormy night. It had taken a pair of his favorite bullets to his chest for him to fully realize it, but even then, Derek had pressed on despite how quickly his body was shutting down. Isaac, Erica, Boyd - all three of them fought through their own pain for him. But when it was over and done with, Derek had been the first to notice it. Isaac was gone - no traces of his body or blood anywhere, just his scent that was becoming weaker and weaker as the rain continued to fall upon them.
It's been nearly a year since that day and he can hear it in the other's voices, see it in their eyes, practically feel radiating from them. They've given up hope, whisper of a death none of them want to full accept. But Derek doesn't believe it for a moment. He's out there every chance he has, looking for something - anything - to prove them wrong, but he never finds anything. Their few and now far between encounters with hunters don't help matters either; they taunt them, tell them horrible things they've done to their 'long gone friend'.
It all ends one dark, stormy evening - just like the night it had all began. He'd overheard the smallest bits of a conversation between hunters and it had been all he needed. Everything fell into place from that moment on and Derek's belief that Isaac was still very much alive rapidly becomes fact. It had taken patience and time, two things Derek might not have always been the best with, but he'd found it - their little 'stronghold' miles away.
Getting in hadn't been easy but he covered his bloody, violent tracks as best as he could. He forced his senses to work their hardest, allowing them to lead him to the heavy metal door. He opens it easily and immediately, Isaac is what floods his senses. The smallest sounds he's come to associate with the other, the distinct smell that even after all this time has hardly changed, and the sight of the young beta that he'd never stopped looking for. ] Isaac--
Sure is :)
He didn't know who'd made it out, if they were all alive; Boyd, Erica... Derek who had taken several Wolfs Bane laced bullets to the chest. They wouldn't tell him that either. Hints were dropped here and there, but nothing definite and always opposing things. He was sure he'd know if they were dead, that there would be something inside of him, inside his wolf that would just know. And he clung to that hope and let it fuel the hope that they'd come for him.
But as time wore on, that hope begun to dwindle, leaving Isaac with the sad, reluctant acceptance that his pack thought him dead and that he'd be stuck here until the Hunters got bored.
Isaac had almost completely given up until a scent assaulted his nose, one he never thought he'd pick up again and for a brief moment he thought maybe he'd completely cracked. And then he heard it, and his eyes shot up instantly, flashing gold and seeking out the owner of that voice. "Derek."
\o/
"We don't have a lot of time," he offered simply, the pale eyes moving to meet the golden gaze for a short moment before dropping to the restraints. He reached out easily, hands moving along the bindings thoughtfully to gauge how the best way to free the other from them. There was no time to look for a key and if Isaac was still trapped in them, it meant the beta hadn't been strong enough. But he wasn't a beta and that meant the small inkling of strength Isaac might not have had to escape, he was certain to.
The dark brows furrowed as his hands shifted, taking a careful hold of the restraints before lifting his eyes once more to Isaac's face. "Hold still," he ordered his attention shifted readily. Derek took in a deep breath, his fingers curling tighter before they jerked with a low, harsh sound that wasn't quite a growl. It was almost lost to the resounding, metallic snap of the restraints as they broke under the force of the older man's hands and he wasted no time dropping their pieces to the ground.
Re: \o/
"You came for me." And he doesn't mean for his voice to sound so shocked, but he'd given up hope, accepted that he wasn't going to see his pack again and let himself believe that they weren't going to come for him.
Isaac doesn't move, almost completely frozen in place as Derek sets him free, and as soon as both arms are loose, one hand drops to his Alpha's arm to steady him, but the other brushes over his jaw, just to assure in Isaac's mind that this is real, Derek is here. "You came." And while he knows they don't have time, the relief is overwhelming and Isaac leans forward to press his head against Derek's chest, just to let it wash over him that Derek came for him and he's going home.

When Isaac leaned forward, pressed his head against his chest, Derek wasn't sure what to do. It was a strange feeling, letting the other drown his senses with their proximity and just being that close to anyone. He wasn't sure what to do and the way his hands lifted, hovered awkwardly near the younger's shoulders was proof of that. "I'm the Alpha," Derek offered after a moment, dropping one hand to let the heavy, solid weight of it settle against the other's back for a moment. "an Alpha doesn't abandon their pack."
This wasn't the time for this - not that Derek was sure when a good time for it would ever really be - but some part of him reasoned that he owed Isaac this. That the young beta needed this.

He shook his head again, moving away to break contact, even if he didn't want to. "We should go. We need to go, right?" They'd be back shortly, they rarely left him alone long, more often than not sending in one of the younger recruits, armed with the taser wand and a gun loaded with Wolfs Bane bullets, to check that he hadn't gotten lucky and broken loose.

"The sooner we get put distance between us and this place, the sooner you'll be out of danger." He turned back to the other, took a moment to let his eyes sweep his form. They'd been away for a long time and even being a werewolf, he wasn't entirely sure how well Isaac's body would be able to overcome the lasting conditions of his confinement. "Let's go." He spared one last glance and then he was moving, peering easily around the corner before continuing forward.

He didn't hesitate to follow, sticking as close to Derek as possible, claws sliding out, ready in the case of an attack. His ears pricked at every little sound, but all he could hear was Derek's breathing, his heartbeat and their mutual footsteps. "How'd you find me?"
no subject
"I looked, listened," he explained as he slipped easily around a few more corners before pausing at the small cellar door he'd eased his way through. He crouched beside it, tipped his head towards it to listen for anything on the other side. Anything that wasn't the soft brush of wind. After a moment, he finally moved to tug it open, glancing towards Isaac, "I never stopped." His gaze lingered on the other for a moment longer before he motioned towards the door expectantly.
"Go."

He lets that information sink in, watching Derek and taking him in; the scent on his skin, the sound of his heart beat, everything. But the feel of home, of pack, it was enough that he could feel an exhaustion setting in.
"Thank you."
And he nods and ducks out the doorway.

Drawing in a deep breath to let his mind catch an idea of where the scent of the hunters was the strongest, he reached out, caught Isaac loosely at his elbow to urge him in the right direction. "We're not far from Beacon Hills," he promised, his pace quickening easily, more than prepared to take off, to quickly close the distance that separated him and his Beta from the rest of the pack.

It's broken when Derek grasps his elbow and he stumbles for a moment before finding his feet and turning to follow. "I almost forgot what it was like out here." Now more than ever he was desperate to get back to the others.
no subject
"The closer we get, the more things should start coming back to you. The smell of the air during certain times of the day, the usual sounds - you'll never forget, not as long as you know how to let your mind and body work together to put together what either can't on it's own."
no subject
"I'd given up."

"Isaac," he started, halting in his steps at the brush of the other's arm against his own. "None of that matters now," he reminded, shaking his head slightly as if hoping that would be enough to ease that feeling away from the other, to draw him back into the emotional state he had been in before all of this had happened. "I came for you. That's what matters," he continued, motioning in the direction they'd come from.
"I'll always come for you, Isaac." Because they were a pack - a family. Isaac, Erica, and Boyd were what he drew his power from and he knew that if he was half the Alpha he thought he could be, he would use that power for them. For all of them now matter how hard it would be.
