The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and it is just TOO HOT to do anything. That is, anything but go have fun on the beach!

PROMPTS:

01 TIDE POOLS - Well, you don't actually have to check out the beach. There's always the tide pools near by filled with all sorts of delightful life forms.

02 SUNTANNING - Don't forget sunscreen or it'll be sunburning.

03 SWIMMING - Or surfing, or trying to dunk your friends, or splashing wildly.

04 STAR GAZING - You don't need daylight to have fun on the beach.

05 SAND CASTLES - Make a fantastic sand creation... or perhaps bury your friend up to their shoulders.

06 WADING - Enjoy the surf and just wade out into the waves.

07 PICNIC - What's a better place to enjoy fresh summer fruit than the beach?

08 SHARKS!!!! - THERE'S SHARKS. THERE'S SHARKS ALL UP IN THE WATER. OH GOD.

09 FROLICKING - Play volleyball, fly a kite, throw beach balls at your friends' faces... whatever strikes your fancy.

ahh, i wanted to tag one of these two in another meme but i wasn't sure how to go about it

[It's a beautiful sunny day, and Izumo is out enjoying the ocean water as she usually does. This generally consists of floating lazily face-down through the water, occasionally moving to ensure that she keeps on a viable course and doesn't faceplant into the sand and surf.

Of course, the shark fin and tail and the fact that she never really has to bring her head up for air works against her, since the former two details are all that would be visible at a glance to anyone else on the beach or in the water.]

[Kiriko sighs as she gently wades out into the water. Her coworkers have been insisting that she takes a break from her job, but that's kind of hard to do when your unit is the Special Crimes Unit. And yet, here she is on the beach, slowly getting herself adjusted to the cool, salty water. She's even starting to smile as she's finally relaxing and getting ready for a swim...

Until she sees that shark fin and tail. Then bye-bye, smile and relaxation.]

Hmmm...

[Izumo drowsily floats along, vaguely aware of there being someone else nearby but not registering it as anything worth noticing. It's pretty easy to just doze off on days like these, and Izumo raises her head up above the water for a yawn, showing off all those nice, pointy teeth for the nice lady whose vacation she's unwittingly ruining.]

Ahhh, I see. Well, glad that these two are getting a thread now

[Kiriko does see that head lifting out of the water, and for a brief moment, she starts to calm down. A person...that's much better than an actual shark. At least, until she sees the teeth. Those sharp, teeth....

Excuse her brief, loud yelp of horror as she quickly scrambles away from the incoming shark-girl.]

[All that thrashing and yelping startles Izumo, and she does a fair bit of thrashing herself as she tries to right herself and move back.]

Agh, shut up! What the hell are you making all that noise for?

[She wipes her hair out of her face and tries to clear her head of any remaining drowsiness.]

You--you were approaching me with your teeth ready to bite!

[At least, that's what it looked like to Kiriko as she slowly backs away. Her hand reaches for her gun, only to remember that she didn't bring it with her. She mentally cursed herself for doing that, and made a promise to avoid having that happen again in the future. That is, if she can get away uninjured...]

Bite what? That scrawny ass?

[Izumo clucks her tongue indignantly and relaxes back onto her feet in the relatively shallow water, bouncing with the occasional wave.]

And for your information, if I HAD been a normal shark, all that flailing around would have just made me more likely to bite. Hell, if I hadn't been half-asleep I probably would have done it just on reflex.

Point is, I'm not the one at fault here.
