THE RANDOM SCENARIO MEME
- Post your character, name, and series in the subject. Include any preferences as well.
- Go to RNG and enter 1-7 for a scene type, and 1-20 for a scene to play out.
TYPE OF SCENE.
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑦ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!
ACTION.
① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!
② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.
④ Gun fight → You're caught in a big shoot-out.
⑤ Fight with a friend → You're fighting with a friend, all out.
⑥ Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.
⑦ Aliens → Aliens are attacking and you're not going to take your probe laying down!
⑧ Final battle → This is it. The battle that will end all the fighting for you. Will you win? Will you get that peace you want?
⑨ Training → You're not actually fighting, just training for the inevitable.
⑩ No hope → You know this fight has no hope. It's not going to end well for anyone involved, but you can't turn away.
⑪ Sneaking in → You're stealing a diamond or sneaking in to kick some bad guy butt, but whatever it is, you have to practice stealth.
⑫ Blue wire → You're faced with a bomb that needs to be disarmed.
⑬ Fight for honor → You've been disgraced or someone you care about has, so it's time to fight for honour.
⑭ Showdown → Time for a cowboy-style showdown. Whoever draws the fastest wins.
⑮ War → You're caught in the middle of a war here. Remember to keep your chin up and keeping fighting.
⑯ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑰ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑱ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑲ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑳ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.
ANGST.
① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.
③ Depression → Your character is depressed, what actions they take is up to the mun.
④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?
⑤ Tortured → Your character is being tortured and needs rescuing or at least a sympathetic ear to help him through it.
⑥ Jealousy → Your character is feeling jealous and must deal with it, how will they do it?
⑦ Breakup! → This relationship has gone as far as it can, it's time to breakup.
⑧ Broken → For whatever reason, the character is broken, mentally or or physically.
⑨ Fight → You can't even be in the same room as your friend or lover without arguing anymore.
⑩ Lost → You lost the biggest fight of your life and now all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.
⑪ Worst nightmare → Whatever you fear the most is now real or maybe you're just trapped in a dream together, but whatever it is, it feels too real.
⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.
⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.
⑰ Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
⑱ Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.
⑲ Hated → You are now hated by the person you loved the most.
⑳ Down and out → You're living on the streets, you've hit rock bottom, and you don't know what to do.
CRACK.
① Sexswap → Uh-oh, you're suddenly the opposite sex!
② Forced confessions → No matter what it is and no matter how hard you resist, you're going to be compelled to spill some deep dark secret!
③ Mind-reading → You've suddenly got the ability to read minds!
④ Animal → You're suddenly part animal or transformed into an animal!
⑤ Awkward pick-up lines → You're compelled to use bad pickup lines on whoever is closest!
⑥ Back in School / Graduated → You're suddenly back in school! Or if you were already in it, you've aged and long since graduated!
⑦ Vampires, werewolves, and zombies, oh my! → You're suddenly a vampire, werewolf, or zombie! Maybe even a demon or a devil, whatever creepy crawly you can think of. What do you do now?
⑧ Ghost → You're suddenly a ghost or at least invisible. What are you going to do with this new ability?
⑨ Awkward conversations → So did you just fart or what? Any conversation goes, as long as it's embarrassing and awkward.
⑩ Crossdressing → For whatever reason, you're suddenly dressed in clothes of the opposite sex.
⑪ Suddenly naked → Oops! Your clothes are suddenly gone.
⑫ Suddenly a kid → You're a kid again! Have fun with that second childhood.
⑬ Fortune cookie → You've suddenly received a note with something that will happen in the future, either precise or vague.
⑭ Super power → And suddenly you're like Superman! Any power goes.
⑮ Bodyswap → Somehow you've changed bodies with the other person.
⑯ Back in time → Somehow, you wound up in the past again. Do you try to correct something or just sit and wait for time to jump? Maybe it jumps to various points in your life or maybe you actually think you're back in the day. Have fun, run wild with the idea!
⑰ To the future → Is it everything you've dreamed? Is it horrible? Whatever happens, you're here to witness what happens to you in the future. Either you take the place of your future self or you're just there to watch. Might cause some confusion if people start seeing double though...

⑲ Locked in a closet → For some reason, you're locked up in a closet with someone else. Do you make nice and try to figure your way out or what?

③ Lost → You're lost and you kind of need help finding your way to where you're going. A little help with directions?
④ Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?
⑤ Wrong number → Oops, actually you didn't mean to call that person...
⑥ Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?

[It's likely the only solid truth that Jack - not so Handsome at the moment, even he can't pretend to that as he watches his empire burn on this innumerably times cursed shit hole - can hold onto at the moment. Left for dead in that burning sacred place beneath the ground, as good as dead, actually dead as far as anyone's concerned.]
[But not quite dead. Did they really think he hadn't taken precautions? He'd been rash once, and lucky, but that kind of luck doesn't hit twice in a row. He always has a backup plan.]
[Or, he had. Now he doesn't know what the hell he has, because his freaking space station has just fallen out of the sky in a blinding ball of fire.]
[What the shit is this?]
[It's not as though there are survivors to tell him, as he wanders the wreckage. He doesn't bother to hide his face. His mask is cracked and doesn't sit flush against his skin as it ought, his clothes are torn and still stained with dried blood, but Handsome Jack in the flesh stalks the smoldering wreckage of all he'd once built.]
You take one little forced leave of absence....
[He doesn't know who he's talking to. There's bodies, but it's not like anybody possibly could have survived this. All his people. Or most of them, he knows how many (working) escape pods Helios holds. Just gone. He's tired and pissed and is that one of his statues? Where's his horse?]
[What the hell happened???]

He limps along, skimming through the wreckage. Part of him wants to explore deeper, part of him doesn't. Rhys is tired, he's hurt. He aches from head to toe, inside and out. Helios was his for a while. Hyperion had been given to him. Rhys had accepted Jack's proposal, with the stupid assumption that he could try and make things better. How stupid he had been.
Rhys is tired, so tired. He had flown through space , crash landed in a pile of rubble that had been Helios not even an hour ago. This wreckage had been put together, attached to a moon up in space. Now it was on Pandora, in an absolute heap. And it was his fault.
No, not his fault. He did what was best.
When he sees a figure up ahead, Rhys makes himself walk a little faster, squinting as he tried to get a better focus. ] H-Hey, you alright? [ It's a pretty stupid question. He walks forward as much as his protesting leg will let him. ] I can't believe I'd-
[ That face. That mask. Impossible.
He had heard Jack, venting his frustration to the world. This wasn't right. This couldn't be right. Jack was nothing more than an AI stuck inside of Helios' database, not an actual living, breathing thing. If this was the case, Rhys was in some serious trouble. And honestly? He wasn't in the condition to deal with this. Going against Handsome Jack would mean trouble, even if he was in the best condition possible. Oh god. ]
J-Jack. [ It's way too late to run now. ] You're...you're-
This can't be right. You can't be here. This isn't...- [ His voice cuts off. This is so, so bad. ]

[Possibly the luckiest son of a bitch alive. Jack turns to him, watching the kid limp in his direction. Hyperion, definitely. The cybernetics give it away - devoted Hyperion. Good. Very good.]
[The reaction is expected. There's always rumors, but the Crimson Raiders have done all they can to tell the world that Handsome Jack is gone once and for all. Friggin idiots. Thanks to them, he's been forced to creep and sneak like a thief, seeking out loyal allies. It's about damn time he found one.]
Yeah, yeah, rumors of my death, greatly exaggerated, don't piss yourself kid.
[Not that he'd blame him. Kid's just crashed onto the worst planet in six galaxies, almost died, and now he's seeing his dead hero-king. It's a lot to take in.]
[But Jack needs answers.]

He had been talking, though. Rhys had heard Jack moaning about his loss. He even saw the flickering of blue from a window nearby. It was almost like the Jack in front of him was different than the Jack he had been flipping off as he ran to the closest escape pod.
That was impossible, even for Jack.
What should he do? Play along? That's all he can think to do, honestly. He looks to the floor, shakes his head. ] I, I- [ Rhys swallows hard. ] S-Something happened to the power core. A malfunction. Or something. Gravity took over from there.
[ Good enough, right? And it wasn't like he was lying...just leaving out major details. ] How did you survive?

[Jack repeats the words dully. That sounds like something not true. But he doubts this kid is upper management, he might not have the whole story.]
Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and interpret that as 'sabotage'. because that's probably what happened, because everyone thinks I'm dead, and why not just crash my freaking space station?
[All of his stuff. It's just strewn across this forsaken wasteland. The remains of the station are obviously in their dying throes, he can hear distorted electronics and see sparks and flashes. This is what it looks like when an empire is wounded.]
[Well, he's probably being dramatic. Hyperion is so much more than just a space station. There are labs all over. This is just...a personal blow. That station had been his.]
How'd I survive? Kid, heroes never die. Some stupid bitch thought she was special and that she could just take me out like that? Please. Don't listen to everything you hear, pumpkin, bandits lie. But thanks to all that bullshit, I haven't exactly been able to show my face. Or phone home.
Which...I guess is for the best, since my home is now doing its best imitation of a tire fire all around us. That...uh...that complicates things. Little bit.

But he seemed to move on, reflecting more on the sabotage part rather than the fact that yeah, it seemed sketchy. He has to try really hard to not sigh in relief. ] R-Right. I'm sorry, Jack. I- we tried. [ Holy shit, is he lying. Rhys is lying through his teeth to Handsome Jack. This is beyond stupid. This is asking for a death wish. ] I don't even know what all happened.
[ He'll admit that in Hyperion, he lied a lot. Most of it was to save his job, his face. But then again, who didn't? It was all part of the game you had to play to survive. What else could he do?
Here, Rhys isn't lying to save face. He's lying so he won't die. ]

[He gives the kid a real good look now. He's pretty beat up. But look at him, trying to make his beloved boss feel better! Now that's a team player. A real good sport. That's the kind of people Jack needs more of.]
[But he's probably gonna die. He's some desk jockey with expensive tech in his system and he's on Pandora. Jack gives him maybe a day before bandits rip him apart alive.]

When Jack motions him forward, Rhys actually stands still. He could have an excuse, and to be honest, he does; his leg does kind of hurt a lot right now. And he just saw what Jack had planned to do, before he made Helios come crashing down. There's no way he can side with Jack again, or accept his help.
Don't get him wrong, it's so tempting; Handsome Jack had been his inspiration for years. Rhys wanted nothing more to be like him. A part of him still wanted to accept his help, because who wouldn't? Jack was incredibly successful, and powerful. That was the kind of stuff Rhys had wanted before.
But he can't now. So he stands there, fear obviously plastered on his face. But he'll at least answer the question. ]

[Helios' plummet to destruction is only Jack's main priority, it's not like he hasn't noticed everything else happening out there. It never rains on Pandora, it only pours.]
[He chalks Rhys' hesitance up to simple awe and confusion. Handsome jack! Back from the dead! Talking to him like they're acquaintances! It's probably shorting out those fancy skull cybernetics. But he really doesn't have time for fanboy frozen brain syndrome.]
We've gotta move, kid. I don't wanna leave you here, but I will. Do yourself a favor and c'mon.
[His amiable voice grows sterner at the end of the sentence, hoping to snap the kid into action.]

There's an edge to Jack's voice that's impossible to miss. He's making it clear that either he helps, or face consequences. Rhys has a feeling that Jack will do more than just leave him here in the wreckage. He can feel it in his gut.
But he stands there, and puts on a brave face. Rhys knows what he needs to do, as obvious as day and night. ] No, Jack. I won't.

[It's not rage that comes over Jack's slightly marred features, it's baffled confusion. The kid, Rhys, he's giving him a 'you're not my father, I will never join you!' kind of response, and all Jack did was offer to help him get away from here and to somewhere safe.]
[What the hell's wrong with him? Did he scramble his brains in the crash or something?]
Uh.....okay? I'd say it's your funeral, but there's not gonna be anything left of you to bury. Or anybody to bury you. Best case scenario, something eats you really quick and you end up a stinking coil in a crevice somewhere. That's....kinda like a funeral, I guess...
[Is it shock? Shock can do some weird things. Clearly something's gone wrong in the guy's brain. Jack'll give him one more chance, but he doesn't want to be here much longer. It's dangerous and it's depressing, a shitty combination.]
You understand what's going on, right? You crashed. On Pandora. You're hurt. There's religious origin story levels of doom going on everywhere around you. It's. Not. Safe. Here.

But is it honest confusion? Or fake?
Honestly, he knows that Jack is right about everything. Pandora was full of monsters- animals and plants alike. Rhys could barely fend for himself out there, even with assistance from his friends. His chances at living through that were probably zilch now, especially after getting ejected into space and hurtling back down to Pandora so fast, it turned the escape pod red. He's all sorts of banged up right now, and he probably won't make it.
It wasn't safe here, not at all. But it wasn't safe with Jack around, either. In the distance, he can hear the flicker of electricity, which reminds him that somewhere, there might be the AI version still floating around in the Helios database somewhere. Then there's this Jack that seems to be totally unaware of everything. He thinks he's a miracle child, who avoided death. That's not how it happened, and Rhys knows it.
He shakes his head. ] I understand perfectly fine. You go on ahead. There's...something I need to take care of first.
[ And it all starts in Jack's old office. ]

[His gaze turns appraising. Yeah, this kid has a set on him. He can respect that. He still thinks Rhys is making the worst decision he possibly could, but...]

He ignores how skeptical his old boss is, and lets silence do the talking. Rhys nods, listening close to what Jack has to say. By no means does he intend to actually go there in search of assistance, or whatever; he knows what Jack's done. Going back on his knees and playing the role of a Hyperion stooge would mean that everything he's done has gone to waste. But maybe he needs that information for a different time? If, God forbid, he has to do this again. ]
...Yeah. I'll keep that in mind.
[ He swallows. What would happen if Jack heard his AI self talking? It suddenly hits Rhys that he seriously needs to wrap this up, or there could be some serious consequences to follow. ] I'll be fine.
[ What to say to your old boss whose AI self tried to kill you? Take care? Thanks? Piss off? Oh god. He doesn't know what to say at all. ]
Thanks. [ Maybe he meant it, maybe he didn't. Maybe in some way, it was sarcastic. The word just leaves his mouth without a second thought. ]
