The Display of Affection Meme!

Suddenly you have this urge to display your affection to that one person you care about, or perhaps a friend....or maybe that random guy on the corner. Either way you just have to let them know how you feel! Well, SHOW them how you feel. Maybe they'll like it or it'll just be that much awkward, but you probably don't mind embarrassing them.

The Rules:

1) Post with your characters name, fandom and any preferences you might have in the subject line.

2) Roll the RNG from numbers 1-16 (or not depending on the preferences of you or the person you're responding to), or just pick your favorite from the list below.

3) Whatever number you get/choose is a display of affection that your character suddenly feels compelled to perform upon the character they're replying too. Maybe your character legitimately wants to perform this action, or maybe they'll be just as horrified as the person they're about to shower affection upon will be. Whatever the case, play out the resulting scene and have fun!

4) Numbers 1-10 are light and fluffy interactions rated G to PG-13.

5) Numbers 11-16 are sexier and sometimes outright smutty scenarios rated PG-13 to NC-17. If these aren't your cup of tea, please make a note of it. Please respect each other's preferences.

Fluffy Affection:

1. Shoulder punch: This person needs to seriously buck up. Maybe a playful punch in the shoulder will help them cheer up. Just make sure you watch your strength... and your aim. You don't want to accidentally punch this person really hard in the face... do you?

2. Tickle: It's time to see this person smile and hear them laugh, whether they want to or not. Grab a feather or use your fingers and go to town on their most sensitive spots. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll forgive you... probably.

3. Hug: Come on now, don't be shy. Everyone needs one of these every so often. Go up to this person and hug them like you've never hugged before!

4. Tackle Glomp: You love this person so much that a normal hug just isn't gonna cut it. You need to launch yourself at this person at full force and just wrap your arms around them until they pop! Don't worry, they can take it! Just... try not to do this around any staircases.

5. Pinch Cheeks: Look at that face! It's so cute you just wanna pinch those cheeks. Please note that we are not responsible for any violent repercussions that may arise from this action.

6. Kiss on the Cheek: Exactly what it says on the kiss. Go right on up to this lucky person and give them a nice peck on the cheek.

7. Kiss on the Lips: Wow. This person must really mean a lot to you. After all, it's not like you would just go around and kiss anyone on the lips right? What's that? You've never met this person before? Oh well, I'm sure they'll understand.

8. Flirty Compliment: Damn this person looks good. Even if you're not the kind to do so, you suddenly feel the need to compliment him or her on their appearance, and maybe even flirt a bit.

9. Just say it: Physical displays are nice, but words from the heart mean everything. From a heartfelt confession, to a casual "I love you man", to those three little words accidentally slipping out, it's time to let this person know how you feel... or not.

10. Holding Hands: Sometimes you don't need to say anything. Sometimes all you need to do is put your hand in theirs for them to know exactly how you feel about them.

Sexy Affection:

11. Grope: This person looks so good you just can't seem to help yourself. Whether it's their crotch, ass, or bust, you suddenly have an urge to grab a naughty place on this person.

12. Strip: What's the best way to show you care about someone. How about dragging them off to nice private place and taking off your clothes for them? ... Okay, that's a terrible way of showing you care, but you're gonna do it anyway! Besides, maybe something else can happen once your clothes are off...

13. Lick: This person looks good enough to eat, and you're feeling particularly naughty today. So? Go ahead and lick them in the spot of your choice. It's not creepy it's... okay, maybe it is a little creepy, but their reactions are guaranteed to be priceless.

14. Sweet Loving: Definitely the most extreme expression of your undying affection for this person. Take them to a bedroom and show them just how much you care about them. Or, maybe you're just kinky. I'm not gonna judge you.

15. Covert Loving: Or, maybe you can't wait to get to a bedroom. In that case, take this person somewhere out of sight and make love to them right then and there. Just make sure they keep quiet. It would be bad if someone heard you.

16. All tied up: Is there any better way of showing how much you care about this person than tying them up before you have sex? Probably, but you're just in one of those dominating moods today. So this person is going to receive your love and adoration whether they want to or not.

[Awkward is; being the sister of a douche bag who couldn't tell a real Saint Michael Stake from a shit knock off on the weird part of eBay. This is even made worse when said stake was supposed to rescue someone from being a vampire only it didn't do shit. Add in the fact that she has a slight crush on the guy her brother completely screwed over...

But it's been months since Charlie's even gone near anything Peter related. Hell, she's even gone so far as to change her last name and deny any connection to Peter. Not that this works. She's still in the papers on occasion.

Which is why she and Brewster are meeting at a two dollar admission movie theater to catch a showing of some movie that hadn't been in the regular theaters for weeks. When she spots him, she sidles up next to him, wraps an arm around his waist and puts her head on his shoulder for a second.]

Hi. I'm not late, am I?

[Awkward is failing to save a beautiful, intelligent, resourceful girlfriend from a vampire because the Master of Darkness--or whatever--never bothers to test his eBay finds before handing them out in life-or-death situations... and then continuing to consult said Master of Whatever on vampire hunting.

Charley might have developed a slight crush on Peter Vincent's younger sister, too, but he tries not to think about that. The last hot girl he went out with ended up dead because he wasn't good enough to save her (blame Jerry, blame the stake, blame Peter--when it comes down to it, Charley can only blame himself). No more dating. No more putting people in danger.

That's why Charlie's just a friend.

He has to repeat this to himself as she half-embraces him.]

Hey. [justfriendsjustfriendsjustfriends] Late? Maybe for the commercials, if you had your heart set on seeing those.

[He puts an arm around her shoulders. Friends can hug. Hugging is a friend thing. Shit.]

[Meanwhile Charlie's just never dated because of Peter. Peter = why Charlie can't have nice things. Take for example her almost dating Ed. See how that went because of Peter?

Charlie is fully set to blame her brother entirely for everything. But then, she could be a bit vindictive.

She flashes Charlie a mock-disappointed pout before sighing and shaking her head.]

I did. I really did. Now I feel like the evening is wasted.

[But then there's a smirk from her and another half-hug.]

Is it my turn to buy tickets or yours? I don't remember.

[This was how they rolled because they were totally just friends. Totally. Yup...]

I think this one's on me.

[He has no idea whose turn it is, but he purchases their tickets before Charlie can protest. Even vampire hunters can afford four dollars' worth of movie tickets once in a while.]

Unless you want to go home, since we already missed the best part. I mean, who doesn't want to see trailers for movies that've already been out for months?

[Charley opens the door for her. It's not because they're together or anything; it's just the polite thing to do. And the hugs?

Just friends.]

[Totally just friends, even though at this point no one believes this but them. But those people are dumb and totally seeing things. Right?]

Nah, we might as well stay. I mean, I did want to make sure The Amazing Spiderman did in fact come out a few weekends ago, but I think I'll survive.

[And the theater is pretty empty but that's fine by Charlie. Less people to annoy her. They're seated a moment later and Charlie turns to look at Brewster. She's half-joking when she says this, and probably smiling a little more than she has in months.]

Do you think anyone in this very crowded theater will complain if I put my knees on the back of the seat in front of me?

[Not that it mattered. She'd probably do it anyway, unless someone actually was sitting in the seat in front of her.]

[Right. Especially Peter, who has been ribbing Charley about sleeping with his little sister... which Charley has certainly not done, and is almost definitely not thinking about.]

You sure? If you decide to stop surviving, I probably half remember how to do CPR.

[Of course the theater's largely empty; most people see movies when they actually come out and, even when they don't, they don't go to the cheap theater in the middle of the afternoon. He smiles right back at Charlie.

It's good to see her smile once in a while.]

Char, you could stand on your chair and dance and I don't think anyone'd care.

Aww. That's sweet of you, Charley.

[At the thought of her dancing in her theater chair, Charlie laughs and shakes her head, nose wrinkling.]

No one wants to see that. I'm awful at dancing. I can't even slow-dance without stepping on someone's foot.

[This is all true, sadly. She's sort of uncoordinated when it comes to dancing.]

[with false bravado and swagger] Hey, saving lives is what I do.

[He forces mock sincerity to replace a growing smile.]

Aw, c'mon. It doesn't matter if you're awful as long as you're having a good time and not breaking shit while you're flailing around.

How heroic of you. [And Charlie puts her head on his shoulder again, leaning against him just slightly. It's comfortable and this is what friends do. Especially Charlie and Charley.]

I don't think being extremely embarrassed at my flailing, however harmless, counts as having a good time.

[A pause.] You coming over after?

Now you're just making fun of me. Rude. [If only Charlie knew. Charley has to be heroic more often than he'd like--all a part of taking down monsters that want to eat people. Peter knows that he hunts, but he hasn't told Charlie. She's bound to figure it out eventually, but for now...

Sounds fun to me.

His arm returns to its position around her shoulders as the movie begins. There's no real reason to be quiet, though.]

Yeah, sure. [hesitantly] You and Peter still aren't talking?

As your friend, I reserve the right to tease you as often as I'd like.

[Boy, when she figures it out, she'll probably be mad and worry.]<.i>

I told him good morning and that he had to be on set at five for rehearsals. [That's more than she's said to him in ages. This is progress.] And then he texted a few dozen times to make sure I was with you and that I really was going to the movies with you.

[It took Charley taking out a nest of vampires for her brother to suddenly trust him around his baby sister. So much internal eyerolling going on right now.]

That's one of those things I'm not allowed to argue, right?

[Well, it is a hush-hush kind of thing. Charley would like to tell her, though. It'd be better than trying to think of more lame excuses to leave when it gets dark.]

Yeah? That many words all in one day? [It's a start. Charley's life would be better if they'd get along; Peter might whine less.]

[He scoffs.] What's his deal? You're not allowed to have other friends?

[He knows Peter's deal. Charlie's the only family he has left and he's insanely protective. The only reason Charley gets to hang out with her (and it's totally just hanging out) is because Peter knows he can take out most threats... or at least throw himself in the way of them like the idiot he is.]

Not even for a second. You're just going to have to deal with it.

[There's another smile on her face, a bit bigger than the one before. See the effect you have on this girl, Brewster?]

Yeah. I was kind of impressed with myself.

[It was still awkward and uncomfortable for her, as evident by the way she turns herself towards Charley and curls against him just a bit. She's only doing this because out of the few friends she does have, he's the best. It's not at all crush relevant. Mostly.]

He's Peter. You've met him. You... [Went after Jerry with him.] spend time with him and all. He's set in his ways.

[He grins. Yeah, he sees, and he likes it when Charlie smiles.]

You should be. Going from no words to actual statements is huge.

[If Charley shifts in his seat to assume a more protective position, it's only because he's worried about his friend. Maybe. Mostly.]

Yeah, well... I guess I keep hoping his paranoia will clear up or whatever, or that he'll do something totally unexpected. Like letting you have a social life.

[And she likes when he grins. It works out well for both of them.]

I think it surprised him. He didn't say much after. Just "Oh. Right. Okay. Thanks."

[She is more than okay with this, moving to get more comfortable and enjoying this all the more. It's one of those rare moments where she questions what everyone else says, only to chase off such thoughts because that's not possible anyway.]

You and me, both.

[Though, to be fair, Charlie wouldn't know what to do with a social life outside of Charley anyway.]

He's seriously worried about you. Sometimes, when he talks about you, it's like... he's almost as afraid of you ditching him as he is of vampires.

[Charley really isn't watching the movie. He wants to focus on getting Charlie and Peter back on good terms, but Charlie's kind of distracting--in a good way, but still distracting. There's something very right about this. It's almost like Amy--

No.]

But not too social. I kinda want to hog you.

[She's his entire social life, too, unless Peter counts (and Peter never counts). His popularity at school divebombed after Amy's "mysterious" death, the friends he had had pre-popularity were dead.)

[Charlie isn't even sure what movie they're watching at this point. Not that this matters. This is probably typical of them, anyway. Get set to watch a movie. Ignore the entire thing because they're too busy talking or goofing off.

She looks up at Charley when he mentions Peter's worried about losing her. And yeah, she knows. She just doesn't like to think about it because it makes her feel horrible.]

I'm working on it. I'm trying my best. He's just... [He's just nothing. It's Charlie who's being impossible and she knows it. She sighs slightly, resting her head on his shoulder again.]

Hog me as much as you want. I'm all yours.

[That might have been better phrased, Charlie. This is the kind of thing that makes people question your friendship with Charley.]

[It's something with a lot of action. Plenty of explosions--the perfect background noise for any conversation, especially ones in which Charley makes Charlie feel bad.

He gives her shoulders a squeeze.] He's himself; that's hard enough to deal with.

[I'm all yours. No, she can't mean it that way, although he's not sure he'd mind if she did.]

Promises, McGee. Now you won't be able to get rid of me.

[Charlie's kind of movie. And she lets out a faint laugh at his assessment of Peter, nodding her agreement.]

That might have been my plan. Keep you all to myself. Everyone else will just have to get over it. You, too. You're not allowed to complain about it.

[She's teasing, turning her head to smirk at him. And she might have meant it the way Brewster thinks she did. Occasionally, she actually does think of them like that and it does make her smile. But they're alright as friends. Aren't they? Things are fine as the are. Right? Hmm.]

[He looks away from the movie he's not really watching to look at Charlie. She's teasing--that smirk gives it away--but...

But he's not.]

Who said I'd complain? Maybe getting you to want to keep me to yourself was my plan.

Consider it a success. [She grins. She'll probably be grinning for a while after this conversation.] You could have just asked, though.

Where's the challenge in that? [Which actually mean, "I didn't think of doing that." Still, he means what he says next.] C'mon, your attention is worth planning for.

There isn't one. Especially since I'd have said 'yes' in an instant.

[She has nothing to say to the last part. Just a blush (which...what...'just friends' sounds a little inaccurate in moments like this) and a grin and an inability to not look at Charley for a bit. She's enjoying the sincerity of what he said.]

[She would've--seriously? Charley can't help himself; he leans over and plants a kiss on Charlie's cheek.

That might have crossed the just friends line.]

Then I guess we're stuck with each other, McGee.
