Lon'qu never liked them, but at least Feroxi banquets had decent drink and singing and usually fighting. This was a banquet in Izumo, though, with rulers attending from Nohr and a half dozen other nations, and that equalled a long, calm, boring dinner party.

As the Khan's champion, Lon'qu had been chosen as the third member of the Feroxi party - but while the Khans were both sat at the far end of the table, Lon'qu had been put between some warrior long past his prime on one side, and a Nohrian princess on the other.

He was stalwartly avoiding talking to either of them, instead quietly sipping his wine as the people around the table talked and waited for food to be served.

Camilla, meanwhile, was stuck between our stoic hero to one side and some minor dignitary that she didn't recognize or even remember the title of. He was an older gentleman, from some far away nations whose name she didn't really care for.

Lon'qu, on the other hand, at least seemed interesting. The Khans painted an intriguing picture of Ferox, and though she would not get much of a chance to speak with either of them-that privilege reserved for her older brother and Corrin-Lon'qu would do well enough. Besides, while the other two were of high enough rank that she would be nothing but cordial with them, this man was one with which she could have a little-or a lot of, should the opportunity arise-fun.

"Aren't you the quiet one." While her voice was soft, it was practically in Lon'qu's ear, making it perfectly clear that he was the one to whom she was speaking. "Ferox must be a contemplative nation."

Lon'qu's body went rigid at the sound of the woman's voice in his ear, a slight blush spreading over his cheeks. Too close. But he couldn't move, or even snap at her to move away from him, not without bringing dishonour down on the two Khans.

Instead he stayed very still, staring ahead, one hand curled around his goblet of wine. Didn't she have a dignitary on her other side she could talk to? He seemed dull and slow-minded to Lon'qu, but he was under the impression that was standard for diplomats.

"You've seen the Khans," he said, eyes flicking over to where Basilio was roaring with laughter, and Flavia was slamming a fist down on the table. They were by far the noisiest people in the room.

So no, was the implication: Ferox was not a contemplative nation.
