The Midnight Texting Meme
It's the middle of the night and you're trying to catch some z's, or brooding alone in the alleys as one does, when your phone rings and dings and suddenly a stranger or a friend is texting you. What could they possibly want at this time? Is it important? Stupid? Are they drunk or maybe just needy? Pick up your phone and find out!
Rules: - Post with your character's name and canon on the subject line, indicate preferences as needed
- Tag others
- Have fun!
sorry, not sorry. Nobody is texting Cloud coz they want Cloud
Zack's a wanted man! (and it's ok, Cloud's used to it)
Sorry about your flowers, but, um...
I think this was meant for someone else?
[Even if he wasn't the one to land in any flowers
yet, he still felt he should apologise. For some reason.]It's okay little man, you'll get your chance in the future
[Well, at least this one apologised.]
At least until she leaves for a place that doesn't have reception
Switched a digit somewhere?
[He felt like he should help, even if what he should do was to finally go to bed.]
Also, I was wondering... how did you manage flowers here in Midgar?
[That part he almost erased twice, but he's been here long enough now he knew that was a feat.]
The reception only works in one direction.
[The question made her laugh and wonder what kind of stranger she had managed to accidentally send a message to.]
The flowers only grow in one special location. You should come by the church and have a look. They're really beautiful.
and only when it's absolutely necessary. What a crappy service.
[Since apparently whoever they were did think a ribbon was at least a part-way acceptable gift for landing on those flowers... Cloud wasn't sure if that was sweet or weird.]
Well--- I. Maybe? Where?
[It's been months since he saw anything naturally growing at all. Of all the things to miss after leaving home, this hadn't been what he'd thought it'd be.]
Well, the network has reach all over the planet, just incompatible hardware
[She held out hope that perhaps he'll text her but someone that confident was most likely a lady's man. Still though...this conversation was interesting.]
Do you get out often?
really gotta fix that, poor Cloud has TWO people he wants to call
[Cloud can't quite believe he's actually having something of a conversation... and with someone he doesn't have a clue who she is. (Well, he's admittedly assuming it's a 'she', but the comment about a ribbon made it seem like a safe assumption.]
Not really. But I got here only recently. Didn't think I'd miss something like *flowers*.
Gotta work on protecting the ones he has left this boy~
[Perhaps she shouldn't be texting back this person as much as she was. Texting a stranger was fun though. It felt like you could say anything and your secrets would be safe.]
It sounds like you came from somewhere beautiful if you're missing flowers.
... Well, that's true. Still, better customer service would be nice
[Since he had apparently fallen on said flowers, which meant he had to have done it from above... And Cloud really should think about sleep, it was already late when he got the first text and he needs to be up early, but there's something strangely relaxing about this.]
I guess so. It's out on the western continent and pretty cold since it's up in the mountains, but it's... nice.
[Nothing wrong with the surroundings - aside from the monsters - but Cloud really didn't miss anything else but his mother.]
Just for you, Aerith will raise a ticket and see if level 2 support will help.
[She really should stop bothering this nice stranger. It was nice of him to keep her company for this long as it was.]
One day, I'll be brave enough to leave the slums and see the world under an open sky. Thank you for keeping me company this evening.
Thanks, Aerith, you always come through for him when he really needs it.
You know, I think he will. [Sure, 'offering' a date seemed a bit... awfully forward, but she didn't seem like she minded either.]
Maybe you could ask him to go with you. It'll be worth it. [He couldn't quite imagine never really seeing the sky. And Cloud's not sure whether he should feel grateful she's ending this conversation for them so he can go sleep, finally, or feel disappointed.
Which is a new sensation when it comes to talking to people.]
It was fun. Thanks for... you know, answering my question.
